A word from Clydz
Clydz is a lively New Brunswick destination with a subterranean atmosphere, reminiscent of a 1920's speakeasy. The freshly rose-petaled entrance is a prelude to a truly unique dining experience. At Clydz, the fare is anything but ordinary. The menu is comprised of "exotic" Contemporary American Cuisine, showcasing items such as kangaroo, ostrich, wild boar and python. Traditional favorites such as filet Mignon, scallops and duck are well worth the visit.

The cuisine is not the only element that sets Clydz apart from the rest. The trendy bar, enhanced by fish tanks and fireplaces, offers an extensive and adventurous martini and cocktail selection. Clydz own “private label” vodka was introduced fall ’11 with great success.

When making a reservation please keep in mind, tables will only be held 15 minutes past the reservation time. Due to high volume during dinner, an $18 food minimum per person is required. Reservations for cocktails only are not accepted.

We went to Clydz for my birthday surprise dinner and it was wonderful. The service is top notch, friendly and professional. The bartenders are great and impressive with their cocktail making skills. We've been here before and will likely be back when in the area. It's worth the hour drive!

I take my girlfriend here every October to celebrate our first date. I have always stuck to the non adventurous entrees but this year we had the python ravioli as an appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised. I wish it was offered as a main course! The cheese tasting was ok overall. I tried the kangaroo loin and they said its tough as I'd expect so I should get it rare or med-rare. I eat everythig medium and stuck to that method. It was great. I'd describe it as gamey but not overpowering and a very very mild liver taste. I'd definitely eat it again as well. My girlfriend had the monk fish over rice with a tomato base. The fish was excellent and portion size of the fish was great but it was a lot of rice! Can't wait to try the llama.

Whether I am looking for a fun night out with friends or a romantic dinner with my spouse, Clydz is always my first choice. There are so many creative (and traditional) cocktails to chose from--and a bonus if you happen to be there during happy hour, with so many food and drink specials available. The Cucumber Gimlet is one of my favorites. For dinner my friend and I both ordered the seared diver scallops over leek, fennel and mushroom risotto and it was a perfect combination of flavors. As a starter we chose the duck confit deviled eggs, which was unique and satisfying. And a must have for us every visit is the tomato soup. The servers are very knowledgeable on the menu/wine options and provide a more than satisfying experience.

If you want something different food wise go to Clydz. Wild game a specialty & not your run of the mill restaurant. Party of 5 all had no complaints. Kitchen was able to accommodate one of our vegetarians with a mixed platter. Excellent service and great atmosphere in the dining area. Bar area a bit crowded when we were there during Happy Hour and you need to work your way through the crowd to get to the Hostess. Will return when in the New Brunswick area again.

Clydes is truly my favorite restaurant. I've been there about 6 times and if my wallet permitted me - I would be there more often. The cheese platter was great - blue cheese was a little strong (kinda wish blue cheese wasn't ALWAYS on the cheese platter) Other than that i love the other 3. I got Sea scallops - they were a little too well done for my liking, and the person next to my ordered it and her's wasn't the same dark brown from top to bottom like mine. The leek and porcini mushroom risotto was so good, melt in your mouth. I would have just ordered that alone if it was an option. My date for the filet and it was cooked to perfection.

Had dinner with my boyfriend on the dining side (not the downstairs bar area which was very energetic). If you are looking for a romantic night, dine in the dining area. If you want more a a vibrant bar atmosphere, fine in the bar area. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable no complaints! The duck was so tender and flavorful and the corn succotash, cilantro grits, and Parmesan broth complemented the duck perfectly. My boyfriend had the kangaroo which was also very tender and mild tasting. I had the sorbet martini which had just the right balance or sweetness and tartness. My boyfriend had the Cajun martini which he loved because it was spicy. Overall, the ambiance, service and food at Clydz was top notch. GO GATORS!

Clydz, known for its exotic game specialties, might not at first glance seem an ideal choice for a vegetarian. But this vegetarian has learned to work with the staff and is happier each time I dine there these days. I basically glance down the list of entrees andput together from them a group three accompanying dishes that make up a substantial and appealing plate. This time it was gnocchi in a parmesan cream sauce, corn succatash, and Japanese eggplant. The gnocchi were melt-in-your mouth tender; everything else was delicious as well. You can count on fresh rolls, creative cocktails (my favorite is the Intelligent Gimlet), great wine list, including a nice selection of wines by the glass. Service, as always, top notch.

I haven't been here since before Christmas (a great time of year for dining on their wonderful game entrees), and I was glad to experience the same high quality dining experience that I remembered, but on a fine summer day. The duck confit devilled eggs were a delicious starter and the rabbit pasta, a special entrée, which was covered with a very nice medley of summer vegetables, was very special, indeed. Their choices of wines by the class have always made pairing with the courses an easy task. To me, their food is still 4+ stars.

I went to the restaurant part of Clydz with 4 friends. We were seated quickly, but it went down hill from there. The server or bartender lost our drink order and came to apologize but it still took forever after that to get our drinks. Seemed like we would wait forever for everything, the appetizers, the entree, the bill. The food was not great, small portions.

Martini's are a specialty here and they do not disappoint. The oysters were fantastic! In order of preference, even though I loved them all, Blue Point > Malpeque > Hog City > Hama Hama. We tried some unique dinners as well. I had the buffalo ribeye which was perfectly cooked to a medium. The meat was delicious as were the accompaniments, but as with most buffalo this was more on the fatty side for those who aren't familiar with the cut off meat. My date had the "game tasting plate" which was also fantastic! It featured antelope, bore and buffalo. The service was also magnificent. Perfectly timed, not over aggressive and pleasant. We will definitely return soon!! Overall A+

Clydz was a fantastic treat. First impressions are misleading. Clydz is a walk down restaurant ,when you walk in you go right into the bar and to the back is the walkup dining room. Our first thought was a 1920's speak easy type of place . Known for their vast selection of martini's and gourmet foods. Karina our server was well versed in the fare and was a great help in selecting our meals. Exotic choices on the menu included Llama and Kangaroo. The food and service was outstanding and attentive . Clydz was a true find--exotic cuisine (including uncommon meats such as kangaroo, alligator, etc.) exquisitely prepared. It was a slow night, but I believe that our waiter would have been equally attentive even if it was busy--he was excellent! One glitch (a mistake on the part of the waiter) was instantly acknowledged and compensated for by an offer of free dessert--made before we ordered dessert. Definitely will return.

There are so many exotic dishes, in sense that finding python, rabbit, kangaroo on the menu is quite uncommon, that ti was a pleasant task to choose. Well prepared and well presented. A very pleasant dining room and knowledgeable, attentive, friendly service made our Saturday night dinner most enjoyable. They had a nice selection of wines, including by the glass, to complement the menu. Worth a try and I already have recommended it to friends.

If you like to experiment with Martinis, this is your place! The drink menu is expansive and the food is excellent! Many exotic choices, including Kangaroo, Antelope, Wild Boar, Python sausage... We stayed more mainstream with the Strip Steak and Scallop dishes, and they were great! Excellent service! The servers cover for each other, so there is never a time that you need to wait for anything. Being so close to the State Theatre, they make a point to make sure that you get what you need when you need it! Highly recommended! We will definitely be back!
