ClydzFabulousVery extensive drink list, great wine list. Service was phenomenal, Staff very knowledgeable of bar/food menu. Came here for a date with my boyfriend, and we loved everything.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMClydz never disappointsAlways a great choice for couples, for small groups or even business events. We always give a listen to the game sampler choice before looking on the menu. Great quality of food, cocktails and wines in an unpretentious atmosphere.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice vibeI was looking for a place to take my boyfriend out for his birthday. We travel alot and go on dinner dates quite frequently locally, in various parts of NJ, and in the city (New York). This year we wanted to keep things low key, so I remembered Open Table and decided to use it to find a place for dinner. This turned out to be a great place for us, although I wouldn't say 'romantic' because of the sound of chatter throughout the restaurant and lack of music in the dining area. It was a great atmosphere--friendly staff, nice crowd, good food and drinks, and allowed us to talk, reconnect, and enjoy each others company. We thoroughly enjoyed the entrees that we orderedas well as the wine and cocktals.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary blissWe picked this restaurant specifically because they feature a lot of game on the menu. We were not disappointed. The antelope carpaccio was excellent, and the mixed game entree was a treat
The staff was delightful, and took care of us knowing we were celebrating our anniversary.
Although the bar was hopping and crowded, once we were able to push thru the crowd to the dining room, you would hardly know the joint was packed.
We will go back and have already recommended to friends.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good foodI've been twice now, and both times I was impressed with the quality of the food that we were served. Everything was very tasty and well cooked. This time however, I did feel that I was kind of short changed. I ordered the Mustard Crusted Rack of Lamb and was only given 3 bones worth of lamb. 3 delicious pieces of lamb, over an amazing mushroom risotto, but I felt that 4 at the very least would have been appropriate for advertising a "rack" and costing 28 dollars. However, everything was, again, delicious.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMstopped in for drinks and dinnerhad drinks before dinner ...great as usual. Dinner was a great time. Foie Gras and Game Tasting were my two favorites of the night.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMgraduation surpriseWe chose Clydz last minute for our daughter's RU graduation dinner. Clydz was quite the surprise and wonderful for our first time. An outstanding and unique food selection with great service. Our waiter Gene, was very knowledgeable, attentive and personable. Overall a really nice experience to finish our proud day! Highly recommended!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGraduationEnjoyed our dinner. You might want to. check out the menu first on there
web page. The meats were a bit gamey for us.
Over all I would still say that the restaurant
Is good. Table was nice and
the noise level was good.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurantMy wife and I ate at Clydz for the first time on a Saturday night. While the place was certainly busy the service was great. I can't say enough about the quality of the food, especially the game meats. The game meats were perfectly prepared. If you enjoy a good cocktail you'll love their extensive list. The cocktails my wife and I had were very good. We most definitely plan to go back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth times a great experienceI would definitely put Clydz on the short list of must-go places in the New Brunswick area. Bar is generally always lively, they have a few tables on the sidewalk, and the menu (while small) overs everything from staples (calamari and scallops) to the much more unique (kangaroo loin and python ravioli).
Food is excellent, service is excellent, have to love a place where the cocktail list is twice the length of the food menu. Would recommend for a couple and a romantic night out, would recommend for a more adventurous work dinner.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinnerThis was our second time here and it was fantastic. Started with the blueberry wild boar sausage, onto kangaroo loin and the elk. Both were cooked medium rare and full of flavor, you would never know how lean the meat actually was. The bread pudding topped the night off. It is definitely a pricey restaurant, but well worth it just for the experience of eating different fare. Will definitely visit again.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of the ordinaryA wonderful and interesting dining experience - deliciously prepared game meat - foie gras to die for!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day at ClydzAs usual the food was great and service was very good as well!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMIntriguing MenuWe've eaten at many a restaurant featuring Wild Game on its menu, but this is the first where we've seen Kangaroo, so we had to get it. It was excellent, as well as the Australian Beef Filet. Everything we ate had great care taken in its preparation. Our server was extremely informed and attentive, yet we never felt rushed. We will definitely return and recommend to others!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat MenuThe menu was quite rare. A few surprises and some very different choices. I tried the Elk and wasn't disappointed. Seating was a bit cramped but the ambience was great.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experience.A party of 7 including teenagers, college students and adults had dinner at Clydz. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and specials, very friendly and the service was good. Their default serving mode was relaxed...it took over two hours to complete the meal. A variety of food was ordered from specialties of the house to more typical offerings. Most were very pleased with their meal...kangaroo steak and crab cakes were excellent. The buffalo ribeye steak was marginal at best. All in all a very good dining experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat drink selections .........and food choices. Game available Expect to see items on menu you've never seen. Filet was great.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely EveningWent to Clydz for dinner before a show at State Theater. Excellent martini list. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She asked us if we were going to see a show so they can get us out in a timely manor. I had the Bison rib steak and my boyfriend had the salmon, we shared the python ravioli appetizer. Everything was Delicious and very appealing to the eye. With 2 Mexican coffees at the end, the bill was 132.00 including tax. Well worth it for a night on the town!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeI don't know why we don't come here more often. We have always like Clydz but forgot just how great and unusual the food is and for a good New Brunswick restaurant, very reasonably priced. And dinner even includes salad and veggies!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood outstanding, Martinis better!Wonderful, if expensive meal ($160 for two, including 2 apps, 3 drinks). The waiter was perfect, the ambiance nice and truly a place I'd be happy to go back to for a special occasion. We sat in the back, rather than at the bar. The latter is also great. Martinis are to die for in this place.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot, service was onGreat spot, service was on point and food was fab. I had the scallops, my father the filet. We were rathere 'boring' in our choices as the menu offers kangaroo, bison and rattlesnake... however we were very pleases. Also- do not miss the truffle mac and cheese (side) and panko crusted goat cheese (app).4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe waiter (Craig I thinkThe waiter (Craig I think ... big guy with a beard) was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Not only did he make our dining experience top-notch, he helped us with some other local information. Food was fantastic, the cocktails were tasty.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe bar area was very active. The bar area was very active. We went for dinner and worried it would be too loud but it wasn't.
The drinks were delicious, Since they cpecialize in exotic fare that is what we ate and found it all very enjoyable. The meats where cooked well and the presentation was good. Portions are perfect.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWarm and welcoming.Great late night dining. The restaurant is very welcoming and immediately takes good care of you.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic martini menu matchedFantastic martini menu matched by super menu. Clydz is known for their unique proteins including elk, boar, kangaroo, etc.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMClydz is a great restaurantClydz is a great restaurant for a much needed change from the normal menus of other restaurants. My boyfriend loves to try exotic foods and was very impressed with the python ravioli and kangaroo he tried. I, on the other hand, am a little less adventurous with my food choices but Clydz also had a good selection of foods for me to eat as well. The roasted red pepper ravioli was amazingly delicious and paired with the baby vegetables was perfect for me. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways delicious food andAlways delicious food and martinis. Service is good as well!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I decided to goMy wife and I decided to go out on a Friday night and Clydz was a place my wife had been to before for some drinks with her friends. Seem to be a popular place for a Friday night, bar was full!. But we were having dinner so we sat down after waiting maybe 2 minutes. The servers was very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. Everything from the oysters to the cheese plate to the tomato soup the steak and the game special I had was fantastic! Their cocktails were also excellent. The only problem I had was the drinks took a while due to the busy bar. So I ordered another drink early so it would be ready for me. If you ordered a bottle of wine or went on a slow night you'd would have to wait for the drinks.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat vibe and awesome food!Great vibe and awesome food! Will definitely come back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMloved the unique menu optionsloved the unique menu options that they offer great experience recommend it to anybody3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBeauty & the FeastEclectic mix of the wierd and the expected served up in a great presentation and mouth-wateringly delicious. The ambiance was wonderful; small but not cramped, busy but not overbearingly so. Everything was excellent and the waitstaff were attentive, pleasant and accommodating. A bit pricy but worth it.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWalk on the Wild SideGreat service, exciting menu with Kangaroo, Elk, Rattlesnake, etc., all prepared with excellence. Very much recommend.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Clydz with my fiancéI went to Clydz with my fiancé on Friday to celebrate his birthday. Once you walk through the bar, you get to the quieter dining room. The bar menu is extensive with creative drinks. We got the Whiskey and Cigarettes and the Old Fashioned, both were excellent. For appetizers we ordered the rattlesnake ravioli and crab stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp. Both were delicious, but we felt the portions were too small for the price. For our main course we split the game sampler, consisting of wild boar chops, rattlesnake sausage, and antelope medallions. The sides were mashed potatoes, asparagus and carrots, and grits. This sampler was excellent and I highly recommend it.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was amazing, withThe food was amazing, with the exception of the bread which was extremely cold and hard. Aside from that, the restaurant does get a bit crowded; our table was nearly touching the table next to us, but as a small restaurant this is understandable. Overall, experience and terrific delicious food.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellentThe service was excellent from the moment we walked in and continued to the end of our dinner. Our son is a chef so our expectations are high and the dinner, from appetizer to dessert, was excellent. The presentation and the quality were impeccable.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat quirky food and cocktailGreat quirky food and cocktail menus and attentive, not pushy, service.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVariety and a good experienceI selected Clydes based on its variety of items on the menu. There was no disappointment. The food was delicious and the variety was great. Antlelope/Bison sausage was awesome. Wild boar meatballs were a little dry, but flavorful. The bison ribeye with gouda purple potatoes was great. The Kangaroo was tasty and actually very good. A disappointment was the scalded broccoli rabe on the Kangaroo plate. A horrible taste to get off your palate to enjoy the rest of the meal. Overall a very nice experience though. Would go back.
Service could have been a little better. Encourage you server to write down your order. My salad dressing was not on the side as ordered and the side of braised spinach never showed.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
