Food and service were great, as usual. The noise level nearly prohibits table conversation below shouting. A common problem at peak hours because majority talk at top level and/or are hard of hearing.

We can always depend on Clydes for excellent food and great service. I recommend the local cheese platter. Great selections of craft beers and good wine pairings. My salmon was good and I liked the creative seasonal veggies.

  • Avoid the flatbread at all costs

Our entrees were fine but boy did we ever err in ordering the flatbread appetizer. Doughy, limp, greasy and with little taste in the sausage and other toppings. Awful dish. And whatever happened to that nice cornbread plate you used to get? Now it's some no-taste rolls. Sill, the entrees were fine and, frankly, the prices are pretty low. Maybe you just get what you pay for.

We asked for a quiet table and were seated in a booth abutting 2 small children who tried to climb into our booth several times, even though there were 3 empty booths next to our in the other direction. Then they seated 6 at tables they pushed together at the side of our booth who were backing into us to take pictures and generally loud, obnoxious and rowdy. My wife ordered a medium rare hamburger, sent it back once and it was still medium, my trout was mostly breaded and overcooked to the point of tasting like a fish stick. I won't be back any time soon

Clyde's never disappoints with seasonal menus and locally sourced items, service is another story. At Clyde's/Reston something happens with the table service that disappoints strongly and keeps me away for a while. Recently, the hostess was top notch, actual server was okay, a little too eager, cbut friendly. Another server was actually rude and dismissive. when I asked him if the early dining promotion was still offered as it was not reflected on my bill, he looked at me rudely and said dismissively, "no, we stopped that at least five years ago, that's been gone a long time." My guest and I had been there a few months ago and knew differently, he was not helpful, rude and walked away not following up or seeming to care. Just rude.

As per usual, our evening at Clyde's was both friendly combined with a fine food selection. The resturant was more crowded than normal because of the rain, and the noise level a bit higher; still, it did not distract from our hearing each other speak. We have been going to Clyde's for more than a decade, and when you add the half-priced bottle of wine to a fine assortment of food well prepared, you cannot beat that combination. Not many people enjoy liver, but I do and the preparation of the liver at Clyde's Reston is comparable to "fegato alla veneziana" in Italy - not a bad compliment, indeed.

We were visiting the area for a soccer tournament and so happy we found this spot. The Autumn pasta dish was spectacular. There were quite a few creative menu items. The atmosphere was upbeat. The wait staff was busy but pleasant and helpful. There was a live band outside, too which was a great after dinner treat!

I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my mom. I had the chicken liver appetizer, which was delicious in the sherry butter. The cocktails are a bit expensive but they do a good job making them. I loved that the server poured my cosmo at the table instead of trying to walk a full martini glass from the bar to our table. The lobster pot pie was very good as well. It had mashed potatoes on top. I think I would have preferred a pastry top, but it was still good. Plenty of big lobster pieces in it. I requested a quiet table and we were seated at a nice booth. It was nice and quiet until the end of our meal, when they sat a couple with a loud small child right next to us. Oh well. Overall, a very good dinner.

Great place ... as always. Over the many years we've gone to Clydes we've come to know - and like - the young service people, and Jessica is one of those who deos Clyde's proud. Add to that one-half off a bottle of wine, and you have an unbeatable combination.

It is truly a neighborhood gem, reliable option when we just do not feel like cooking, but want a good home-style meal. This time we just wanted to get together and catch up with old friends, we live in the same neighborhood, but busy non-overlaping schedules make it difficult to find time and just stop by to talk. Clyde's on a Sunday night is a great place for that, relatively full, but not crowded, relaxed and relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, good food - could not ask for more.

Usually Clydes is reliable and our standby. We went for lobster month and were sorely disappointed. The lobsters were clearly under 1/2 pound; they were mushy and rubbery and basically inedible. All that and we waited over 20 minutes for our opentable reservation. All in all, we probably (at least I won't) go back.

I have been going to Clyde's for twenty years. It has always been consistent across all of their locations. This time was no exception. This is my first time to the Reston location. The bar was a bit smaller. When we were there in the late afternoon there were just a few folks in the bar. I imagine it could get crowded and loud. We went to the dining room for dinner. The chili and the crab cakes never disappoint.

The chocolate cake was delicious also -- moist, and iced with chocolate whipped cream instead of it the usual ickyo frosting. Comfortable ambiance, reliably good-to-excellent food, friendly and efficient service. Good for groups because of the range of menu choices -- picky eaters can be satisfied, as well as those with more adventurous tastes. Generally well-seasoned American food, plain and simple or seasonally enhanced, always with the freshest ingredients possible.
