Diner Reviews
  • "The occasion was a meeting for me of a prospective, new client and we chose Clyde's as a centrally located meeting spot, since we both knew the area well and Clyde's reputation....we were not disappointed! Brittany was our server and very knowledgeable of the menu and what alternatives were available for my gluten intolerance AND my guests' diet restrictions. The atmosphere was classic and elegant and the booth was perfect for conducting my proposal meeting, though the surroundings got a bit louder towards the end and it became difficult for me to hear my guest."

  • "When the chef/cook over cooks a steak, it's a good thing when the 2nd steak comes out in minutes and tastes great. That's what happened at my recent visit to Clyde's of Reston. And the waitress scored BIG POINTS by bringing a "doggie bag" and asking if anyone at our party owned a dog so that 1st steak wouldn't have to go into the trash."

  • "At Clyde's you know what you are going to get...good food...good service...Sitting outside is a plus when the weather is good."

  • "My only issue with Clyde's is even when you make a reservation outside dining is first come, first serve."

  • "Reliable neighborhood place - never disappoints! Whenever we are looking for some comfort food and want to get out of the house, Clyde's is the place to go."

  • "I love Clyde's. I have eaten at every one of DC metro restaurants. My favorite is in Tyson's corner. My least favorite is the Reston Town Center. It kind of reminds me of an airport check-in area. If you do not have reservations, expect to sit outside in the sweltering heat (because there is an insufficient amount of seating or standing room in the "lobby"). With that said, make a reservation! The atmosphere can be a little like a sports bar because the bar area is in close proximity to the dining area. The furniture is poor in comparison to the Tyson's Corner restaurant. Some reconditioning is in order - things (seats and tables) are worn down from all the use."

  • "Service was slow despite lunch "population" was diminishing and not too crowded. I had fish and chips. The French fries were lukewarm (fish was hot and okay). Food server was pleasant and attentive, and can't tell whether her serving us was slow or prep of dishes, backstage, was the problem. I've eaten often at Willow Creek where it has been a better experience. I know I should have requested the French fries be heated, but after waiting so long, we wanted to be on our way. The 3 guests (my relatives) were reasonably satisfied with their selections--but had better meals at the Chevy Chase Clyde's. I hope this doesn't sound too grumpy!"

  • "The service at Clydes was excellent, as always, but our meals were not as good as they've been on our many previous visits. My overall memory is of a little disappointment, but unfortunately I can not remember any details except that my fries were tough and not fresh."

  • "I like Clyde's because it has options for all my family; the Reston location is conveniently located for me and never disappoints. Reserving on Opentable makes it that much more convenient."

  • "You just can't go wrong with Cylde's. Good food, wine, beer, atmosphere, and the service is always outstanding."

  • "Good food, excellent service, in a very nice atmosphere where talking with friends is ease. An old standby that remains a great place for a lunch or dinner."

  • "Clyde's is a great place to have lunch. Prices are reasonable and food portions are easily shareable with a friend. We met friends there and had a great conversation. Noise levels were not an issue at all."

  • "Me and my wife are big foodies, and were very impressed with the dishes they had. I used to eat a lot of meat, but am now pretty vegetarian (Some fish and seafood) and I was not dissapointed in the Bowl of Summer. Really taste and very fresh, the Salmon my wife got was very excellent as well. Both dishes were excellent and served pretty quickly. The service was very nice and the ambiance was nice. Outside there was a live band playing music, and the inside was a little noisy as well, but I can't fault them for being very busy. All and all the night was great and most importantly the Mrs. was happy. :)"

  • "Clyde's is a great meal at a reasonable price. I wish we had held out for the outdoor seating. The noise level was such that it was difficult to hear the conversation at the table inside where we ate. Service was super as always. Wish you could make reservations for outside."

  • "We had never been to Clydes. We had a very positive experience. Liver and onions was tender and delicious. Drinks were very good, and service was friendly. Ambience was soft and yet the vibe was trendy and upbeat. Portions were too large for our taste, but tasty nonetheless."

  • "Very nice restaurant. Good place to meet for dinner. Food was well presented and well flavored"

  • "Overall, my last few experiences with Clyde's of Reston has been a resounding "meh"... The quality of the food always hits its mark, so good on them! The quality of the service is disappointingly and frustratingly inconsistent. This was "the spot to eat" many moons ago, and Clyde's seems to fail to grasp that they are not the only players in town now. My wife and I actually had a debate on whether or not to eat at Clyde's or Mon Ami Gabi (our normal go-to in RTC)...I wanted Clyde's, she wanted MAG. I wish we had got to MAG... First round of drinks took FOREVER! Not one, but TWO separate Managers had to come by and assist our awful waiter for another round of drinks and helping us pay our check. My suggestion: Dine elsewhere!"

  • "I was very surprised to find out that the food was not very good. It did not have a lot of taste and the steak on my salad was chewy (yuck)."
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "Consistently a very good place to dine, and with a half-price wine list, even better. Service is always notable - quiet, efficient and friendly; the food, especially Clyde's montly specials, are equally impressive. As I've written here before, we been returning to Clyde's of Reston for more than a decade, and we plan to continue to do so."
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "Compared to other Clyde's, the Reston room is very dark. Our food was good..there was a menu mixup in that salads has just changed and while we ordered what was listed on the menu, we were served a previously offered salad with different ingredients. The server removed the item from our check. They were accommodating for our birthday celebration."

  • "We always enjoy this location. Recommend dining on the patio and listen to the free Saturday concerts at 8pm. One negative - recommend against the pitchers of sangria. Cost Elena's very high for what you really get."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "The service at Clyde's was terrible. The delays associated with several of our drinks was attributed to the bar being really busy. And the lengthy delays we encountered with our food order were attributed to the kitchen being really backed-up. Certainly this was not the first time Clyde's has had a full restaurant is it?"

  • "Food and ambiance was great...the veggie lentil burger was surprisingly delicious!"

  • "Love Clydes! A good standby, sevice is usually good but food is always just OK. We will always come back because in our family Clydes is a tradition."

  • "We had the monthly special and it was cooked to perfection. Clyde's is a favorite restaurant for our anniversary."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "This was the first time we had tried this restaurant. We loved the atmosphere, the menu was great. We had someone in the group that needed gluten free options, and the waitress was great at explaining what they could do to prepare most dishes as gluten free. Food was uniquely prepared and delicious! Waitress was well versed in all plates on the menu, made recommendations when asked, and was polite and friendly!"

  • "We picked up 2 family members at Dulles and stopped for dinner. Crab cakes were delicious-a real treat for westerners. Also,I had the Alaskan salmon-fresh with a tasty sauce. Dinner was enjoyed by all!!"

  • "Nice to sit outside for brunch. A little noisy with music from the outdoor speakers from the restaurant competing with the music from the speakers in the pavilion. Food was good. We all three had the New Orleans omelets. Potatoes were good, and the omelets were large. Would have been nice to have toast or a muffin or something similar included. Service was good but had to request a some items."

  • "Clyde's of Reston has it all... Great beer and cocktail choices, wonderful atmosphere, comfortable booths inside, outdoor seating, plenty of parking and delicious food! It's a well established neighborhood restaurant. One bonus is you can relax and carry on a conversation over a good meal, because you don't have to shout across the table over noise and/or loud music."

  • "Accomodating staff, great food, nice atmosphere - they were able to recommend some tasty dishes that were gluten free for my wife. We keep going back because fo the great staff and good food."

  • "I've been coming to Clyde's of Reston (and several of the other Clyde's locations) for years. The service is always great, the food is always amazing. I love coming here for a guaranteed good time!"

  • "The food at Clyde's is good, and I really enjoy the outdoor seating area. However, none of the chards by the glass looked very good, and the waiter said he would not recommend any of them. We ordered the only half bottle available. They were out of it. After ordering two more bottles--and being told they were out of them, we were told they only had one bottle left--it was the most expensive on the menu. After expressing some discontent, we were informed they were changing wines and were not ordering the new until all of the old stock was gone. That sends a pretty clear message that they are poorly managed and not terribly concerned about the experience from the customer perspective."

  • "I consistently go for the monthly specials and have yet to be disappointed. Not only is the value good, but the food is professionally prepared and presented. This is a reliable go-to place for a business meal."
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "We sat outside for lunch, and it was as if we were in a beer garden.... lots of shade, relaxed atmosphere and an overall wonderful experience. The wait staff was a little slow, but the atmosphere and food more than made up for it. will definitely be back for a patio lunch!"

  • "Went to dinner at 8:30 p.m. One of us ordered the North Carolina BBQ sandwich which consisted of little chunks of grisley meat, portion size the same as that of a petite can of cat food. Bun SOAKED in vinegar. Uneatable. Re-ordered the Reuben Sandwich. Bread was wet & all of the ingredients slid out onto the plate when picked up to eat! At that point, appetite was gone! I ordered Turkey Club and a bowl of Maryland Crab soup. The toasted bread for the sandwich was cold, there was barely any meat on it, but TONS of lettuce. Soup was loaded with lima beans & canned tomatoes. Did not even SEE any crab. Side dish of melons was not ripe, green, was cut down to the skin.. Lesson learned: Don't eat at Clyde's after 6:00 p.m."

  • "eggs benedict were not bad, the sauce hollandaise needs to be a little bit tastier, it was bland and did not reflect the slight tart taste of sauce hollandaise on eggs benedict."

  • "Great outdoor venue. Reservations are for indoors, if you want to sit outside on the plaza you need to put your name on a waiting list."
