Diner Reviews
  • "I arrived early to meet my party of 4. I had a drink at the bar. The bartender was great. We were taken to our table and service was slow. The food was not up to Clyde's standards (I worked at Clyde Chevy Chase as part of the opening staff). I won't go back. I will go to Reston Clyde's or Chevy Chase, or Georgetown."

  • "Clyde's was quiet on Friday night in summer. Our waitress was very helpful and we were entertained by a waiter who carried 6 plates on one arm. We had the filet and it was very good. Each of us requested a different length of cooking and we were all happy. Jill"

  • "The food was very good. We had lunch-- tuna pita pocket, rueben sandwich and 3-cheese omelet along with various drinks. Service was very good as well. Since the weekends are not very crowded you can hear each other talk. A plus."

  • "I recommend Clyde's as a perfect venue for business lunch."

  • "Went for lunch and our sandwiches were very good. Could the cup holding the cole slaw be any smaller??? Our server was superb-- helpful and attentive. What disturbs me is that this once pristine and unique environment is looking tired and worn out. Palm trees withering; plants pathetic. Didn't the fountain between the palms used to work? My chair cushion was split with foam exposed. Our table wobbled terribly. Beautiful wood surfaces are dull and dingy. Up higher than heads you can see cobwebs. Wrought iron "fence" was dusty at the bottom. It's all about details. Seriously, after seeing it for 3 decades, this once Art Deco grand dame needs to be face lifted and its beautiful features restored."

  • "Came in prior to concert at Wolf Trap. Food was delivered efficiently but was awful. My burger tasted lousy and upset my stomach remainder of the evening. Neither of my daughters could eat their meals. One ordered chicken fingers, received fish and while they redid them, insisted they were chicken but it was the oil? By the time they redid her meal, we had to take it with us. Other daughter ordered pizza and it was quality of microwaved frozen pizza. While they were apologetic, we were looking for a simple, easy meal. Just not good. Maybe they do steak better but I'm not finding out."

  • "This Clyde's is a poor comparison to it's DC counterparts and it does Tyson's Corner an injustice. The decor is disjointed, it really is off putting. The bar and dining area are two different extremes. It's just weird and not artistic. The service, which could have made up for the mediocre food, was terrible. Our waitress was no where to be found and aloof; parts of the order were missed and old appetizers were served. Dessert was the best part of the meal experience. If this had been my first time at Clyde's, I would NOT return!"

  • "This was my second time to Clyde's, and both times the service was outstanding. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. I met some friends there. It was well worth my 70 mile drive to get there and would do it again."

  • "We all had seafood. Parmesan trout was actually fried trout with a parmesan breading; not what I expected but good. Fish and chips was typical but good; swordfish was very good. The standout dish was the beet salad. Service was good. Not crowded on a Friday night; I guess this Clyde's does a big weekday lunch business; they advertise a Sunday brunch, which seems to be a big deal."

  • "Our waiter was extremely attentive and courteous. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere inviting, as always. I will return many times!"

  • "Maybe it's time for Clyde's of Tysons to relocate! Once the hottest place in the area.....now just outdated and old. Food and service still really good though."

  • "Clyde's Restaurant is always the best, but at Tyson's Corner it is really hard to find. When we finally did it seemed abandoned. It had about 9 tables filled at 1pm on a Sunday ... so sad. Please put a sign on Leesburg Pike so we know where to go. Drove past it 8 times and finally had to call for directions. GPS was useless."

  • "Went to Sunday brunch food was dismal for the price you are going to pay. If you are going to charge 20 bucks for steak and eggs put a real steak on the plate. The brunch drinks come in a little glass and you pay a premium for those too. Would not recommend this restaurant for Sunday brunch!!"

  • "Have been coming to Clyde's for years. This was a total disappointment when we were hoping for a nice Father's Day lunch. We were sat by the kitchen although the dining room was not full (and we had reservations). Waitress was not friendly nor helpful with menu. Food was mediocre. Just overall totally unsatisfied with it. Won't be going back."

  • "Although the recent highway construction has made it a bit tricky to reach the restaurant, Clyde's in Tysons is always dependable. It is good place for lunch, has a well-stocked bar for an after-work party, and it is a much sought after locale for dinner. There are distinct menus and seasonal offerings, so the dining experience can be varied. Highly recommended!"

  • "We both had the Alaska Salmom special of the month which was fresh and perfectly cooked with a great sauce and asparagus. Enjoyed agreat hot fudge (sauce made in house) sundae! Very pleasant service made for a great dinner!!"

  • "We took my cousin to Clyde's for brunch on Sunday because she loves crab cakes and so do we! We had the Eggs Chesapeake, which are like Eggs Benedict, but with crab cakes instead of the Canadian bacon. Heavenly! The poached eggs were perfectly cooked & the hollandaise sauce plentiful and delicious. Then, we had to have Strawberry Shortcake, one of their special desserts. That was terrific! The shortcake stout enough to soak up lots of juice, the whipped cream REAL and the strawberries just perfect. We actually could have had just THAT for lunch and have been satisfied. We rolled out of Clyde's very happy and with the intention to all go home and take naps! Clyde's crab cakes can't be beat and a visit to Clyde's is always great!"

  • "I've avoided Clydes of Tysons Corner for a couple of years now and dreaded weaving in and out of this side of Tysons for a quick business lunch due to the seemingly endless Silver Line construction. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the traffic problems are clearing up and access was easy. Clydes is still difficult to find if you do not know where it is as it is hidden away. Steak House salad was fine and served the purpose. It's still difficult to have any sort of private conversation due to the noise level."

  • "Clyde's of Tysons continues to offer superb service, which is efficient but not overbearing. The menu has a nice range of well prepared items without being so foodie-oriented that you can't find anything you actually want to put in your mouth, like some restaurants today. The Palm Terrace is an amazing room with its Art Deco railings, occasional statuary, and of course the huge murals of nudes bathing. I hadn't been there in quite a while, and it continues to delight. The only negative is that the hard surfaces and the bar in the center of the restaurant create a lot of noise, but it's worth it!"

  • "Clyde's is always a good "go-to" for meeting friends while knowing that the food is going to be delicious and the service reliable. I also love the fact that they take reservations because it makes the night even more stress-free."

  • "We took a friend who hadn't been there in 30 years! Much was the same, even to her favorite entre on the menu! She really enjoyed the opportunity to get back to this Clyde's. It was our first visit to this location. Really liked the art deco look. Food great, generous portions, great service."

  • "We just dined at the Clydes Tower Oaks for Sunday brunch two Sundays ago and it was fabulous. I have never had a bad meal at Clyde's restaurants before, with the exception of this night. I had a pesto chicken dish. The chicken had a very bad flavor to it, over salted and just sour. Instead of just chicken meat, there was a big piece of skin and fat which not at all palatable. My son and husband's burgers were good (yes, I should have stuck to the Clyde's burger which is never bad). "

  • "My husband and I have been to this restaurant many times before but had not visited the place in at least six months. The Restaurant was moderately busy. When drinks finally arrived, my husband's Margarita was served in a dirty glass, which took a while to be exchanged. We finally ordered our meals after what seemed a long wait as there were few servers. My husband's plate was fine but mine was not. I ordered a tuna salad on pita which I was unable to eat as the fish was actually spoiled or on the verge of being labeled "spoiled". It was exchanged for a salad which was mediocre at best. We are not going back and definitely do not recommend this place any more."

  • "We went for brunch to celebrate a family event. The service was good without being overbearing. The food was good but I didn't feel like they had a big selection of brunch-type entrees. We used side orders to beef up the selection to what we wanted, but of course that increased the price. They overdid it on the onions in the potatoes and the omelet. My wife asked for her omelet without onions and it was great. My son had the cornmeal encrusted catfish which he said was just mediocre. We have also eaten at the Clyde's at Mark Center, which has a nice ambiance too, but the food there also is adequate but nothing to write home about. Stick with the traditional businessman's fare for best results, like oysters/raw bar, the soups and steak."

  • "We typically go during the week.. This was a rare Saturday night visit. They seemed to be overwhelmed as the service was ATYPICALLY slow. MY wife got her asparagus as we were ready to leave. We plan to avoid Saturday nights in our future visits."

  • "The decor is very odd. I spent my meal looking at a fully nude painting of a very "healthy" woman. As a practical matter, the whole garden of Eden thing or whatever it was supposed to be just seemed terribly out-dated. However, our server was very friendly and she was very polite. Prices were tad high for the overall quality of the experience, but I was not offended. I started with some honey-glazed wings which were excellent, but not very meaty. The main course was grilled salmon salad, and it was fine. "

  • "Now living away from the DC area, I make a point at getting a meal at one of Clyde's locations if at all possible. I love Tyson's for the wall décor, and the lovely ambiance of the glassed roof dining area. The cost of food and drink is quite fair, with ample wine selections at moderate pricing. Five of us each remarked about the flavors and presentation. Valet parking gratis is a nice touch. Despite having reservations, when we arrived, I asked where you planned to seat us, but was met with an awkward face from the hostess, and it was clear that no conversation would happen?!?!?"

  • "We very much enjoy Clydes at other locations and this was our first experience at Tysons and it was completely unimpressive. Completely outdated style, infrastucture is aged and worn out. food selection is below average; food preparation and quality is poor at best."

  • "Thanks, Clyde's, for a great dinner with my family. Your menu was varied and suited each of us well. We enjoyed the atmosphere; though crowded, we found it relaxing. We even had delicious desserts because we felt so comfortable and relaxed. "
