While they're each wonderful in their own right, this is our consistent favorite. From the greeting at the door, to the personable waitstaff and fantastic food quality - we're never disappointed, and often delighted. I made a reservation, was seated promptly, the waiter was attentive, yet never intrusive. The food was great, and I accomplished my business goals. I found the lunchtime timeframe quiet enough for a business discussion, even though the restaurant was relatively full of other lunch guests. The menu selections were varied and all sounded delicious. We started with the oysters rockefeller because we'd never had it, and the cheese plate; to much fro an appetizer, really, but it was all good. For dinner I had the Halibut and he ordered the Fat Kid sandwich and we were both very happy.

The room where my party was seated - immediately to the left as you enter - was very noisy. As someone who listened to too much loud music in his youth, my hearing acuity in noisy rooms is poor, and I found myself having to lean across the table to hear what my fellow diners were saying. Even if I'd dined alone, I would have still found the room strident.
Service was pretty good, with everyone's beverages being refilled pretty often. Food was very good. Prices were moderate; my group of three dined for about $50, but with no alcohol or appetizers. We did have two desserts. The noise was on the high side, making conversation not quite as easy as we might have preferred. The service was superb, with at least 3 levels of waiters/ waitresses for our table. My mother's halibut good, but a bit dry, and my wife's oysters quite good. My chicken salad sandwich was delicious, but the bread a bit too buttered. We broke a glass in the middle of the meal, and the waiter quickly provided totally NEW platters of everything... since glass was in all of the food. Creme Brulet good but too sweet. Not rushed. The highlight was the crab cakes, chock full of crab meat with little filler. The low point was the pork chop which was very overcooked and dry, even with the extra helping of sauce we requested. Other items (burgers and trout) were good to very good. The service was very good, with the manager stopping by to ask if all was OK (which I find to be a nice touch). It's been there for 33 years and it keeps getting better. The menu has dozens of items that are the best of their class (like the Crab Cakes). The value is high. The quality and service are consistently outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful. It may be a little hard to find the way the roads have grown and changed. The grade of beef chosen was not up to par for KC grade. Just stay avoid the KC steak, tough and too thin. Tysons Corner construction makes it tougher to reach but it is worth the effort. Service is always excellent and it is a good lunch choice to spend an hour with a friend. The menu is variable. I have had an excellent pumpkin ravioli which was not on the menu this time but hopefully will be again. The lentil burger was good and I appreciated being able to substitute shoestring onion rings for french fries.
