Clyde's of GeorgetownGood as it ever wasHaven't been to Clyde's in a long time. It is as good as it has ever been.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways consistently good food3rd or 4th time we visited Clydes. Like the Georgetown location, best. Staff was outstanding. We commended the manager as we watched the staff deal with a real boor sitting near us. Totally professional. Always fresh ingredients and local items in the menu. You won't be disappointed.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to take the parentsMy parents were in town for graduation, and I wanted to show them Georgetown without it being too expensive like going down to the Waterfront. Lobster bisque was too salty, but decorations and "preppy" ambiance was just what I was looking for to give them the "D.C experience." Two tables had babies so it was a little loud, but there's no helping that. Good experience overall, the bread is good.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place!Clyde's is not fine dining, but it's the best most solid meal you can get around. You can always have a cheeseburger, some of the best in the neighborhood, or be adventurous and try the fish and chips, which are equally good. I would highly recommend, especially for a business lunch or a more casual date or to watch a sports game at the bar. Or it you're craving a burger.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMcasual and classicThis is a great place to have dinner with a group or to casually take your parents out. Pretty typical Georgetown/old school vibe, classic American fare. Highly recommend starting with the crab tower!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service! The food was very good, as expected. I brought group in town for a business meeting I was hosting, and without asking (and we forgot to request it), the server gave us separate checks with a smile. All other service was fantastic.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Date SpotI went for Mother's Day brunch and it was awesome. This is ideal date spot near lots of things to do. I highly recommend it to all.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood experienceOverall a nice time. We went for Mothers Day. We had to change the reservation a few times and they were very good about it. Service was good, and we also had a birthday. Clyde's provided a brownie sundae -- free of charge! The only thing that was a bit off is that the prices seem a bit high for portions -- the corned beef hash was delicious but about a third more would have been good for the price, and coffee was surprisingly expensive. However, we will go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambianceThis restaurant his wonderful attention to details. The staff is fairly knowledgeable as to their menu, but not so much on their wine list. The ambiance of the decor is truly second to none! Go! Enjoy a fun night out with friends or someone special.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!We had a great experience at Clyde's.. The food was delicious. (those crab cakes are to die for)... No filler at all... and the Flank Steak was YUMMMY... and Kevin our waiter helped make the night even better. He was attentive and there when we needed him.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!Everything was delicious! The atmosphere is great and the service was excellent!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday night special!Clyde's has a great Sunday night special: 1/2 price wine. This is the quintessential Georgetown restaurant. Nothing is more authentic. The best burgers in Georgetown are found here. The service is always really good. It is great to come here on Sunday night because it starts your week off great! The crab cakes are really good. If you are a tourist you owe it to yourself to give them a try!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBuzzy/friendly restaurantFun restaurant with great atmosphere and excellent food.
Really interesting interior with original artworks.
Only slight downside is because it is so popular you may gave to slow down the sevice (which is excellent )
Otherwise you will be in and out before you know it !5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday CelebrationWent there on Sat after seeing a show at the Kennedy Center. Clyde's was one of the only restaurants that was able to accommodate my party of 7 at 11:30pm when I made reservations 2.5 weeks ago, so thanks! Food was great. Service was ok. All in all, we had a great time.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant! We had such a wonderful time at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the place had such a wonderful atmosphere. Coming back as soon as we can!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHS age prom-goers gave high marksMy son, his date, and two other couples, all seniors at a local high school, made reservations and ate dinner at Clyde's before prom. They were greeted by a very kind and welcoming host and seated in an area with a nice view of georgetown. The server welcomed them and shared information on the specials and was attentive to their dining orders and requests. They dined on Ravioli with Ricotta and Fresh Herbs and Grilled Lamb Steak, just to name a few.
I've always been a fan of the Clyde's family of restaurants and was thrilled that my son and his friends have had such a wonderful time and share in that view.
I will make a point to visit the Clyde's of Georgetown and encourage friends/guests to seek them out when in the area.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA place that holds specialA place that holds special memories for my wife and I, always stop by when we're in D.C.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about it was great!Everything about it was great! The wait was short, the food was great but the key was Leila(sp?)... She made the experience awesome! She deserves a raise! I'd go back in a heartbeat!!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for Sunday Brunch (haveWent for Sunday Brunch (have to get the coffee cake!), and had a great experience in terms of food, service, and just the overall dining experience. We had some special needs requests, and they fulfilled them as well as they could. We had a great time!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's is where I take myClyde's is where I take my out-of-town guests from the west who are not adventuresome. They love it. In fact, the food is very good, as well as the service and ambiance, but I prefer a more diverse culinary experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I first went toMy wife and I first went to Clyde's in Georgetown in 1970 when she was a freshman at Mt. Vernon college on Foxhall Rd and I was down Highway 29 at UVa. We go to Clyde's every time we go to DC and as usual it was great.

Memphis, TN4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good, a littleFood was very good, a little overpriced but I guess that is to be expected in Georgetown. Silly question for the restaurant though - a certain waiter was giving out samples of coffeecake to everyone sitting in his section. Why was this not offered to all guests?4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMy daughter and i came toMy daughter and i came to Clydes after a Cherry Blossom tour. We had a great, menu knowledgable waiter. He was very attentive to our table. We both ordered omelets and Belgium waffles(without meat). It was a tad annoying when our food came out to see bacon sitting on the plate. However, it was quickly taken care of and we received a fresh plate. Although the mix up was clearly not our waiters fault(he's not the chef), he was very apologetic and our drinks were on him. I would definitely frequent Clyde's as it was a nice atmosphere with very attentive staff.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA reliable choiceClyde's of Downtown is very reliable and is consistently very good! One of my go to restaurants. Reasonably priced, excellent service, I love going to Clyde's. I have been there a number of times and never had a negative experience. This last time, I took guests to their brunch on Sunday. Plenty of choices on the menu. Our party of three all enjoyed their respective dishes. I had the omelet which was cooked to perfection with a great selection of ingredients all included in their price.
The rustic look to the place adds to the enjoyment. The bar is well equipped with a very large selection of beers which I occasionally take advantage of. Go. You won't be disappointed.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff at Clyde's couldThe staff at Clyde's could not have been nicer! We really enjoyed ourselves. Creative drinks and great food. And most importantly, kid-friendly. Would definitely recommend.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat burgers!Since we were from out of state & not familiar with the area, Clyde's did not disappoint. Great place!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place for family or couplesWe had a wonderful meal! We had special dietary needs( one gluten free and on peanut/tree nut free)and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate. The food was amazing. I had the steak. The sauce was perfect and the steak was cooked just right. My husband had a burger, which he devoured in record time. The kids grilled cheese was a great size and the bread looked home made.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA dear friend was visitingA dear friend was visiting DC on college searches with her daughter. When asked where we could meet for dinner I had only ONE answer, CLYDE'S. I've been going there since my own daughter went to college here back in 1997, and I've always been satisfied. Clyde's is consistently excellent across the board. Clyde's Georgetown neighborhood is an exciting part of the city as well. Definitely a win-win!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's Never DisappointsConsistently good. It was Easter weekend and restaurant was very very busy, definitely glad we had a reservation. Despite craziness we were seated promptly and never felt pressured or rushed throughout the meal. Waitress, Lela, was excellent! Our first time there so we had lots of questions and she offered various suggestions. She was professional yet fun and very attentive and, we had a delicious meal!! Will return when in DC again. Gave 4 vs. 5 stars because we were seated near bar, it was too crowded and people too close to our table.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed this packed GeorgetownWe enjoyed this packed Georgetown Pub. Food was very good and place was fun.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent lunchOur party, including two children, received excellent service for lunch. My daughter picked this restaurant randomly from the list at our hotel. We were delighted with the entire experience! The food was served in just the right amounts and it was delicious. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place; great food.Great place; great food. However, since we often wondered where our waitress had disappeared to, we feel the service could have been more attentive.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWent on a Saturday night whichWent on a Saturday night which was very busy but the wait was not very long. Some good beer choices. Chicken sandwich was one of the best I've had. The dinner salads were also very good. Waiter was very helpful as well as pleasant on prompt to take of our order.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's Is Amazing! After all these years Clyde's just keeps getting better. Last night we celebrated our 28th anniversary there. My son and husband got the March special which is he rockfish. There is not a better fish entree in the city right now including D.C. Coast and 1789! I tried the Shepard's Pie, a St.Patrick's weekend special, and it was the best one I have ever had! We finished off the evening with a brownie sundae and apple cobbler, both were delicious. Clyde's is a consistent choice for regular diners in Georgetown as well as an authentic experience for those visiting the neighborhood for the first time. You can never go wrong there. WE LOVE CLYDE'S.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBrought my boyfriend hereBrought my boyfriend here to take his brunch virginity 3/16.
We were sat in the really bright back room, which was GORGEOUS even on a partly cloudy day. Service was excellent, I think our server's name was Antonio or something like that? WHOEVER HE WAS, ASK FOR HIM. He was very knowledgeable and extremely patient about explaining what a mimosa was to my boyfriend. Also, he was super cute.
Food was excellent, although I'd steer clear of the fruit. It wasn't awful, but it had definitely been left out for a while. Also, $5.50 for a few pieces of orange and browning apple? No. However, the biscuits were delicious and a great way to start the meal--along with bellinis, obviously.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
