The food was delicious. And, the servers were very efficient, and genuinely interested in our comfort.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's gallery placeOverall we enjoyed the atmosphere and the experience. The appetizers were a bit skimpy for the price. The decor is very nice and it was quiet enough to hear what others were saying.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day LunchOysters outstanding and other dishes were very good.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDependableThis probably my 30th time to Clyde's. Brought out of town guests before the Capitals hockey game. Service was outstanding with perfect timing on table checks without hovering. We had the Lighthouse Seafood Tower And it was filled with plump oysters and little neck clams- perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp-ample crab legs and a lobster! Very mpressed with the quality and quantity! One guest had a cheeseburger that was perfectly prepared - dessert consisted of hot fudge sundae and brownie sundae! All was well done.....make a reservation and avoid a potential wait - this place is worth it!!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe booked a table 1.5 hoursWe booked a table 1.5 hours before a Capitals hockey game at neighboring Verizon Center. Essential to book a table in advance on an event night. Perfect place for a very nice pre-game meal on the high end of dining options adjacent to the arena. Very convenient location for arena events, in the heart of Chinatown.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest BLT in town. ServersBest BLT in town. Servers are always attentive and helpful. And as usual, Joe--the maitre d--always makes you feel welcome.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI require gluten-free so wasI require gluten-free so was disappointed that the chef is not equipped to alter sauces to accommodate. I was told that many of the sauces have soy sauce in them which has gluten, BUT there is gluten-free soy sauce which is easy to access and very good. I don't mind eating sauce-free if I have to but it shouldn't be necessary. The rice and veggies were good. The Hanger Steak was tough to chew. My husband enjoyed his meal. The orange marmalade toasted cake a treat for him. Wish there were gluten-free baked dessert options rather than just ice cream. That is easy to do as well. Washington, D.C. restaurants do a great job to provide gluten-free selections and many of them. Clyde's was the first that I was let down by.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived early but wereWe arrived early but were seated immediately. Waiter was attentive. Food was very good. It was an enjoyable evening.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and I both orderedMy friend and I both ordered the Kansas City strip steak cooked rare, but both appeared to be cooked medium at best. That was disappointing. Otherwise the experience was very good, and the ambiance was exceptional. Perhaps steak was not the best choice, but it was featured as the special of the month.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Clyde's! Went here forLove Clyde's! When in doubt I go here because I know the food will be delicious and I will receive excellent service. I've been several times and they never disappoint. Last night was no exception. Service a little bit slow but they were packed before the Fleetwood Mac concert so it's all good.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!We were attending a concert at the Verizon Center and Clyde's was listed as a close by restaurant. We had already eaten at another restaurant in their group called Old Ebbitt Grille & loved it. We were seated immediately, and had a great booth with a street view where we could see bustling downtown DC. The service was great and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful.
We also booked another restaurant in the group for dinner- The Hamilton. Both were as impressive, with great complimentary menu options, so each time we had something new to choose from!
We would highly recommend any restaurant in their group and hope to try them all!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great. Ambiance wasFood was great. Ambiance was outstanding. Waiter was a little slow. The food was delicious, and the menu was varied enough to offer something for everyone and make our decision very difficult. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. It was a special treat for my mom, who doesn't often get the chance to venture outside of highway exit chain restaurants. I would go back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for brunch orGreat place for brunch or dinner in the generally over-priced 7th Street corridor. Ambiance is outstanding. Arguably the best Clyde's in the regional restaurant group.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat alternative to Old EbbittGreat for Easter brunch! Clyde's basically has the same brunch menu as Old Ebbitt Grill, but is usually much less crowded. I couldn't get a reservation at Old Ebbitt, but at Clyde's I made a reservation and experienced very quick service (meal was served in less than 10 minutes of ordering!). Go early (around 10:30am), and you'll basically be the only diners in the restaurant!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm very happy to have Clyde'sI'm very happy to have Clyde's in the neighborhood. It is not flashy, but every time I go there the food and service are excellent and the wait for a table is never too terrible. Great place for a late night drink. Out-of-town guests enjoy it very much.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful EasterWe had a wonderful Easter brunch...food was very good, as was the service and the ambiance. Clyde's seemed to find a balance between up scale and fun for families. The Easter Bunny visited our dining room during brunch making it very fun for the children dining with their families. The quality of the food, the professional service, and the tasteful decor made it a very enjoyable brunch for the adults.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here on a reccomendationWent here on a reccomendation from a friend. Oysters were so very fresh and just lightly coated with cornmeal. Delicious. The 2nd floor hosts were very helpful in uniting me with my party and our server was knowledgeable, charming, helpful to special requests and inspired a lot of confidence from my party. Can't wait to return to this location.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAs out-of-town visitors, weAs out-of-town visitors, we were looking for a kid-friendly restaurant that offered an appealing menu and wine list for adults and were happy to find it at Clyde's. We were able to get a reservation on fairly short notice, and we were seated right away even though we arrived early. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When the wine we had selected was not available, the wine expert made an excellent suggestion for a substitute, which we thoroughly enjoyed. There was an error in one of our dessert orders which was not properly corrected, but to be fair we did not make a fuss about it due to the lateness of the hour.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and good varietyGood food and good variety of food. Kids menu was available which was great as many places did not have a kids menu. We have eaten here a couple of times now. Like the decor as well.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've eaten at this restaurantWe've eaten at this restaurant many times. The service and food have always been great. The prices are very reasonable.
