Clyde's of Gallery PlaceClydes Of Gallery PlaceWe went to Clyde's Of Gallery Place on a Sat night with reservations for 6. We got there on time & we were seated right away.
The waitress was very attentive despite one person being late as we ordered. We had calamari , fish tacos & buffalo wings as appetizers which were all good.
For entrees, our table had the 2 lobster tails which was cooked to perfection. The ribeye steak, medium, & it was cooked perfect & had great flavor. My husband & daughter had the salmon, it was wonderful. I had the new York strip steak & it was fabulous, it came with asparagus, which I normally don't like however it was very good. We enjoyed our entire meal & even ordered brownie sundaes after. We will definetely go back & highly recommend this restaurant.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAttentive StaffVery pleasant experience. Staff friendly, attentive, quickly refilled water. Order came out perfect, didnt wait forever to get seated, served.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious FoodMy colleagues and I dine for lunch on Friday, June 14th and the service was excellent and the food was to die for. We all shared the fried green tomatoe and believe me when I see that was "the bomb" I would highly recommend this resturant again the food great, service great and very reasonable prices you get your monies worth. I will be coming back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a good place to goWe go to Gallery Place before each of our Shakespeare season ticket events. Occasionally try others but always return to Clyde's. From the greeting at the front door until we leave the experience is a pleasure.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise levelClyde's certainly did have alot of energy yesterday.
Which for me unfortunately precluded me from hearing
all that my guest was talking about.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMRight Turn Clyde! We always make the turn to Clydes when we are getting together to discuss work strategies or just bonding with the team. We can count on a pleasant experience and great food.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrating Daughter's BirthdayAsked to be moved to more quiet table, and our server, Vera, took command and took me to very quiet booth in a room that was just right for my daughter and me. Our oysters, salads and the special salmon were very good. We had a fine time..6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways listen to your friendsFriends suggested that Clyde's was a great place to meet for dinner while in DC for the week-end. The place is huge but divided up into a variety of dining nooks and the decor is terrific. Beautiful wood paneling and woodwork with a wide variety of paintings on the walls.
It was a Friday night and we were glad we had made a reservation. Got a great booth in one of the bar rooms. We all ordered seafood and it was sensational. The service was excellent and we were able to catch up with our friends and enjoyed a delicious meal. We were very pleased with our first visit and will most definitely keep it on the list for future visits.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AM"Great place for lunch."I work just a few blocks from the Gallery Place Clyde's, and it a great place for lunch. The booths are roomy; you can hear yourself talk; and, the food is very good. Specials on the menu change at good intervals, providing additional variety. And -- I would give their cheese cake five stars! Service is friendly and rapid -- always important for lunch.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMClassy but fun ambience. GoodClassy but fun ambience. Good variety of tasty food on the menu for people with various dietary needs or preferences. Good service.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great except my salmon,Food was great except my salmon, which was a little dry. Service was good but not spectacular. Restaurant is very large but you don't notice it since there are several dining rooms.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner before TheaterWe always enjoy Clyde's at Gallery Place and go there before the Shakespeare Theaters performances. Food is always good. One is greeted at the door and offered their table - which, when reserved, is always ready - or a place to wait for the rest of the party if desired. Food is always good and wines suggested work well. The Ambiance is lovely, especially on the second floor. First floor is fine. We have tried a couple of other nearby restaurants - which are good but noisy - and then end up back at Clyde's the next time.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's isn't fancy, but itClyde's isn't fancy, but it sure gets the job done when you want a good, fairly priced, meal with friendly service and a comfortable setting. The May halibut special was delicious. Wine is reasonable priced and the servers seemed well versed on the wines by the glass offerings.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMa classica classic stand-by that always meets good standards: good food, good choice of food to please all palates, good and attentive service, good feel and good specials (especially oysters!)5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place, love the ambienceGreat place, love the ambience there. One of my favorite places to eat in the district.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAnnual visit to ClydesWe're here every year for brunch with visitors, usually 10 people. Service is great, ambiance is awesome, not screaming crowded for early brunch. The drinks are great and the food is just what you'd like on a Sunday Morning. Some was outstanding but the balance all well prepared and tasty. Their greeting and treatment well above the norm for restaurants in DC.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch DelightI took a friend to lunch here for her birthday and we totally enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Once you get settled, the ambience is so comportable, we could have talked for hours. I was really glad I didn't have to look for a parking space on the street. I parked in the garage and received my $5 discount after I had my parking validated by the restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMRepeat customerOur table was ready on time; there was no wait. We got a table away from noise as we requested. Service was responsive. The food was reliably good.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant yet ReasonableWe had lunch at Clydes Gallery Place and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A number of our group ordered and loved the Lamb Sandwich, which had lamb sliced thin like roast beef, something hard to find elsewhere.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good pricesThe service and food was excellent and the price reasonable.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant in DC.I always love going to Clyde's, whether for drinks or for dinner. When eating, I always make sure that I get a booth at the bar immediately to the right when walking in, because I find the atmosphere a bit lacking in personality in the actual dining room, but if you want a quiet dinner while feeling that nobody else is in the restaurant but the people at the table, the dining room is great. The downstairs bar, though, is fantastic, in my opinion. It is usually lively and full of character without being ridiculously loud, and you can typically find whatever game interests you on the TVs while you are eating or having drinks.
I highly recommend Clyde's.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe wait staff was very efficientThe wait staff was very efficient and attentive without being overbearing, and very knowledgeable about the wine list and menu.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLong wait for lunchArrived today, was seated at 12:30, did not get food until 1:00. Not the place to go for lunch.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome atmosphereI've been to Clyde's for several different occasions and the staff has made each occasion special with their hospitality and the food is to die for!!! Some dishes are a little pricey, but they have something for everyone!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI would go again...Nice place, though I found our group of six business associates was a little cramped in the booth they put us in. If I had to do it again I would ask for a table. The benches were very high and only the one guy (6'5") felt comfortable. Two in our group couldn't touch the floor, and with three normal sized guys on one side we had synchronize our arm movements to avoid black eyes. Food was good, but then DC is a great restaurant town. Next time in DC Clydes will be on my list of places to consider.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful DiningClydes is a great place for family, friends or groups5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoy yourselfThe restaurant was quiet for good conversation. The food was delicious. And, the servers were very efficient, and genuinely interested in our comfort.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's gallery placeOverall we enjoyed the atmosphere and the experience. It was great as usual.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMClyde's Gallery-Top Pick for LunchClyde's at lunch is full and noisy, but the food is undeniably great. Because it's busy, the service is slow, but who cares when you're waiting for lunch with platefuls of double-dipped wings, fried calamari, artichoke dip in front of you. The bread is always good, you never have to ask for water and whether it is hamburgers, salads, pasta or seafood, the food is always prepared exquisitely. It is our favorite lunch destination and we've been there for dinner, too--the quality is consistently high.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA pleasant surprise! We had a great brunch before a Caps playoff game. Our server knew we were going to the game and assured that our meals were served with plenty of time to spare. She was knoweledgeable and attentive without hovering. Our food was great and the Bloody Marys were perfect!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a late lunchMy husband and I arrived in DC in the afternoon when most places had already closed for lunch . I was checking on OpenTable looking purely for a place in proximity to our hotel that would still serve us. Clyde's was that restaurant/bar. We ordered a Caesar salad, seared ahi salad and fried calamari - all of which were superb. The service was swift and friendly. Not minding the sports bar atmosphere, Clyde's did just the trick for us. Reenergized we headed out to explore the capital.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMI love all the Clyde's establishmenI love all the Clyde's establishments. Brought out of town guests before the Capitals hockey game. Service was outstanding with perfect timing on table checks without hovering. We had the Lighthouse Seafood Tower And it was filled with plump oysters and little neck clams- perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp-ample crab legs and a lobster! Very mpressed with the quality and quantity! One guest had a cheeseburger that was perfectly prepared - dessert consisted of hot fudge sundae and brownie sundae! All was well done.....make a reservation and avoid a potential wait - this place is worth it!!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe booked a table 1.5 hoursWe booked a table 1.5 hours before a Capitals hockey game at neighboring Verizon Center. Essential to book a table in advance on an event night. Perfect place for a very nice pre-game meal on the high end of dining options adjacent to the arena. Very convenient location for arena events, in the heart of Chinatown.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest BLT in town. ServersBest BLT in town. Servers are always attentive and helpful. That was disappointing. Otherwise the experience was very good, and the ambiance was exceptional. Perhaps steak was not the best choice, but it was featured as the special of the month.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Clyde's! Went here forLove Clyde's!
