We had not eaten there since before it was renovated but the ambience was unchaged and comfortable. The traditional mimosa was a nice compliment to lunch. I ordered the vegie burger which was dry for my taste, my wife ordered and enjoyed her turkey burger. The key lime pie was very good and I would order it again. On this occasion my husband had the 'special of the month', halibut. The fish was rather under-cooked, rather small, and the accompaniment, barley,shaved asparagus etc was also rather small. However, he was reluctant to ask for it to be cooked a little bit more in case it came back dried out. I had the eggplant parmesan which is good, but for some reason it doesn't arrive piping hot. Our friend had the salmon, which he said was "OK". The desserts were excellent - but the hot fudge sundae is HUGE for one person. We have had better meals at Clydes than was the case last week. I enjoyed the lamb meat balls with penne, and my husband enjoyed his swordfish. The vegetables that accompany the meals are fresh and delicious. The food is not oversalted, like a lot of places we go, and I didn't notice a lot of noise, although the restaurant was full. There's something for everyone, from great fish dishes, steak or a simple hamburger. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a restaurant with broad appeal.
This time I had the fish and chips and I really liked it - made with cod, as it should be. My husband had salmon and was very pleased. Our niece, who's pretty picky, had a cheeseburger and she was happy. It seemed a long time before we received our bread, although the drinks came promptly. We had calf's liver and crab cakes and both were excellent. We enjoyed it, and there was something for everyone but not an overwhelming menu. Food was tasty, service was pleasant, nice decor. Bar downstairs seems fun. Great for a relaxing dinner and catching up with family. We weren't rushed even though we took close to 2.5 hours to eat (and didn't order drinks). On Easter Sunday we had a great time.
