Most of the time everything is great, but like most restaurants sometimes it just seem not as good as the last time. But in this case Clyde's at Mark Center is different. The front of the house staff is wonderful, very friendly and will try to make the experience enjoyable . The waitstaff are very familiar with the menu. Service is very good most of the time. The menu is nice. Some of the portions are OK, while others are much better. No complaints!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Meal to End a Perfect DayWe enjoyed an early dinner at Clyde's on Saturday after a day-long outdoor picnic along the Potomac. We were shown directly to our table when we arrived. Our server, Wally, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We started with two rounds from the raw bar -- a half-dozen oysters first, which were so good we ordered shrimp cocktail with four jumbo shrimp -- all very fresh and delicious. We also ordered half-portions of the caesar and wedge salads. Their special was a Kansas City Strip -- I was reluctant because I prefer ribeye -- but, man, was I glad I tried the special. The strip was so tender and delicious, I gnawed the bone! My friend loved the scallops entrée. We took cheesecake home with us. All delicious!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was amazing. Mike was gracious and welcoming as the Maitre'd and we were seated promptly. Our server, Haley, was fantastic. She told us about the specals and gave us plenty of time to chat before ordering. Our food was excellent. Haley had perfect timing with her visits to our table and always ensured our drinks were filled. I took my mother, uncle and grandfather here for the first time this Saturday and they loved it as well. The waiter was awesome (can't remember his name, but he had big holes in his ear for earrings). He was very attentive and answered all of our questions. I told him it was my grandfathers birthday and he brought out a treat for him. The staff was cheery and ready to welcome us. Everything was superb. We were in a trance about being married for 39 wonderful years and everyone made the scene continue as beautiful. We were seated in the lake room which was perfect. Our time in your resturant made the day for us. We will be back!

Food was delicious. Service was excellent. There was some noisiness from a couple of neighboring tables--people talking really loudly-that was somewhat disturbing. Not sure if they left or were asked to quiet down a bit, but the loud conversations didn't last so long as to ruin the whole meal. It's one of our favorite restaurants in the area, and we're glad to have it so near our home. We all had the Prime Rib, and each one was cooked to exactly the temperature that was ordered. A cup of the Parsnip Soup was outstanding as a starter. We requested a table, since one of our party is physically unable to slide into a booth. Clyde's called the day before and said we'd most likely be in the bar area, which was where we ended up. To my surprise, it was very pleasant. I've now eaten a meal in every room at Clyde's at Mark Center, and the bar may have been my favorite because of the lighting. We're always seated quickly, food is good with a nice selection of choices for your meal and the wait staff is always attentive. We had been to this Clydes a number of times and it is our favorite place for "fancy" nights out. The food was great as usual but we were a bit surprised at the appetizer that we ordered. We had the Pork Belly Sliders, and the mini sandwiches were so spicy that we could not taste the pork belly in the sandwiches.
The rest of the meal was perfect, my wife had the rockfish special and I had the meatloaf. With six varieties of oysters four of us each ordered a mixed dozen - and we weren't disappointed - shades of excellence. Two of us followed with the Rockfish special and two enjoyed the scallops - no complaints there either, in fact - we were all delighted with our entree and the style of preparation. Restaurant was busy, but not crowded. Thanks to our Server, Annemarie. She is awesome!!
Highly recommend for Thanksgiving or any other day of the year (except Christmas Day when they are closed).
