Quiet dining, about the only time I remember that the place is not packed. Service was excellent and food was daring. We had the house wine which was very good and a starter that was pretty good. We ordered their Crab Cakes which they have decided to spice up a little. My wife enjoyed them but I really prefer their old presentation for CC. I like spice but this seemed to over power the crab. Single cake was small and surprisingly heavily augmented. We were shown directly to our table when we arrived. Our server, Wally, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We started with two rounds from the raw bar -- a half-dozen oysters first, which were so good we ordered shrimp cocktail with four jumbo shrimp -- all very fresh and delicious. We also ordered half-portions of the caesar and wedge salads. Their special was a Kansas City Strip -- I was reluctant because I prefer ribeye -- but, man, was I glad I tried the special. Lastly, I marked the restauant down in the service area because our waitress, who had a delightful carribbean accent was not firendly or attentive inatially. A cup of the Parsnip Soup was outstanding as a starter. We requested a table, since one of our party is physically unable to slide into a booth. Clyde's called the day before and said we'd most likely be in the bar area, which was where we ended up. To my surprise, it was very pleasant. I've now eaten a meal in every room at Clyde's at Mark Center, and the bar may have been my favorite because of the lighting. We had been to this Clydes a number of times and it is our favorite place for "fancy" nights out. The food was great as usual but we were a bit surprised at the appetizer that we ordered. We had the Pork Belly Sliders, and the mini sandwiches were so spicy that we could not taste the pork belly in the sandwiches.
The rest of the meal was perfect, my wife had the rockfish special and I had the meatloaf.
