  • "Requested a 7:30PM reservation and was offered a 7:00 or 8:00PM? Service was prompt but waitress was mechanical with no personality and asked for our drink order as I asked for a glass of house red she directed me to a $13 and $15 (half) glass of wine. My lady friend ordered a drink with lime, we waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to return without our drinks only to advise us they had no limes due to a shortage of limes? We ordered appetizers which were prompt and delicious as the waitress was attentive but cold. I ordered swordfish, they were out so I opted for blackened tuna that was cooked to perfection, my lady friend ordered a salad with grilled shrimp that was brought to the table without the shrimp, it was corrected."

  • "We had an 8:30 reservation. We did not get seated until 9:30. We sat at the bar while waiting. I ordered a drink that has lime juice as a main ingredient. The bartender told me that they don't have lime juice because it's too expensive - she then charged me $10.50 for my drink that had lemon juice as a substitute. $10.50 a drink and they can't afford lime juice? The women next to me at the bar returned her drink because it was served to her with a bug in it. We sat down at 9:30, ordered within 20 minutes and didn't get any food until 10:15. I ordered pasta with shrimp and it tasted fine, but was an extremely small portion of pasta and it had two small shrimp."

  • "I am so happy about our new neighborhood restaurant. I have dined there probably 8 times. You feel like you are somewhere very special inside that beautiful space. The food is good. I have a really big issue with two things but there is one thing in particular that irks me. Do I need to be served a diner sized portion of every course??? Seriously. Over the winter I ordered a roasted pork dish which was very good but I was served about a pound of shredded pork. I am not kidding. It came home with me and lasted days and days... Every single dish - even salads, are huge! I don't appreciate that when I am fine dining. Also, I know this is the chef's style but everything is very busy - lots of sauce, lots of dressing, lots of everything."

  • "We had a lovely dinner. My particular dinner (swordfish) was heavy on ginger and pepper which were not mentioned in the description and which I don't like. But once I realized I was eating a chunk of ginger (not orange peel which was what I expected in an orange sauce), I just stayed away from it and tried to ignore the pepper. The fish was great, and everything else was very good. One of our party had the burger and said it was the very best burger she ever had. Would still go back."

  • "Great Service, excellent, creative food. Something for everyone, but dishes are interesting and combinations well suited. This restaurant is located at a Metro North train station. High ceilings, wood interior, a very rich look and nice atmosphere to dine in. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "Yes, they are slightly inconsistent but when they get it right, it's excellent. We've been there several times and enjoy the ambiance, service and menu choices. The wines by the glass are in the very good to excellent range and great choices when the whole table isn't drinking. Steak, Arctic Sea Bass and Pasta were our entrees and all were excellent. The salad for first course was huge and tasty. Oysters were fresh and delicious. Only complaint, and this happens every time, is they're out of something in every course! Our waiter informed us of several "outs" and when we ordered there was one more, "oops, sorry." I should mention we never go on busy nights or brunch. That may be the key to a 4-star experience?"

  • "When I made the reservation I confirmed it that day that it was my wife's birthday and I would like a small desert with a candle. She informed me that they would get at least three people to sing Happy Birthday When we arrived the hostess for that night the hostess and the waiter wished happy birthday to my wife, no surprise. Bur after dinner instead of bringing the cake with a candle he brought a desert menu. I had to go up to the bar and remind him of the birthday cake. This is the second year in a row that they screwed up the birthday desert. You will not see us again for some time"

  • "Food was OK, but not noteworthy, particularly given the prices. The restaurNt is beautiful and service was attentive but not overbearing. I did not appreciate that my half full plate was cleared while I was deep in conversation and I was not asked whether I was finished or if I wanted to take the leftovers home. I would give it another try."

  • "Arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation and waited 1/2 hour without explanation. No place comfortable to wait. Had to ask to have coats checked. When a table became available the hostesses said to each other, "who should we give it to?" Busboy arrived with empty water pitcher. Wine took 15 mins to be served. One of us ordered non-alchoholic beer. Waitress returned telling him that the bar had just sold its last one. Service inattentive to intrusive. The food: salad tasteless, steak over cooked, bone marrow inedible, fish that had to be cut with a knife. Dessert: the same person who couldn't get their beer ordered banana cream pie. Guess what? Sold out. Total time at this restaurant - 3 1/2 hours. Luckily we liked our dinner companions."

  • "I was outside NYC and the family member I was meeting was delayed. I had to find a place to eat for myself and at the same time take away in order to feed my delayed daughter. Club Car Restaurant was perfect. Centrally located, comfortably appointed, with wonderful steaks and service. My martini was a bit heavy handed in the vermouth department, and the busboy was a bit overzealous, but my overall experience was very pleasant."

On this trip, only three other tables in the restaurant were occupied while we were there, yet one of the six entrees arrived at the table more than five minutes after the others, and one of the five that arrived on time was significantly over-cooked."

  • "Ambiance was poor, mostly older crowd. Place is bautiful though, was hoping for a more trendy vibe. Food was very mediocre, apart from the burrata we ordered for appetizer which was good, the gnochi and the veal milanese were nothing to write home about and kind of heavy. The table next to us returned a fish plate. The server was super nice and professional though and was the only highlight of the evening."

  • "This is a restaurant I really want to like. But after several visits here, I realize that may not happen. The service is sloppy. Our waitress was abrasive and unlikeable. And this time, the food was not good. To receive fish that is undercooked is not excusable. To send it back and realize that, upon its return, it is still not fully cooked is ridiculous. I try not to write bad reviews. Unfortunately, after multiple visits of receiving only fair service and mediocre food, I have no choice."

We had flounder specials that were delicious and pumpkin risotto with duck. Desserts were delicious too. Not sure why there is a DJ as the music got a little loud."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful, we were warmly greeted and the waiter (Frank) that we had was outstanding. Our food arrived too quickly ( odd complaint, but we were celebrating an occasion and wanted to "dine"), and cold. We sent back a fish dish for this reason, and it returned luke warm. Two of our diners loved the pizzas, and we all thought that the calamari in a light sauce was fantastic. The wine list was well organized, but the cost per glass too high for a local restaurant ( read: not NYC). I had heard this from others and would agree: a great place for a drink and appetizers at the bar. Last note: it was a Saturday night, so the noise level being high was expected. But change the music!"

  • "My wife and I dined at 6:30pm Sunday before President's Day. We started with a martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives at their beautiful large bar and was surprised that there was a platter of delicious cheeses, sopressata and garic crostini for all. We sat for dinner near the large fireplace with very comfortable seating, beautiful chandeliers accenting the tin ceiling and exposed bricks. We started our dinner by splitting the gnocchi with lamb bolognese. That was a mistake because the dish was so filling with large chunks of lamb in the sauce. It was delicious but we had to take home most of our entree because we were so full. My wife had the Cassoulet, I had the Veal Chop special. Both were great! We also had a great bottle of Malbec!"

  • "What a discovery! Absolutely love this place. The ambiance of Club Car is old world grand & esquisite, yet hip at the same time. Love the refurb - exposed brick walls, massive windows - and the gorgeous chandeliers, flower arrangements, red lights... can't say enough. The decorator NAILED this. That might be enough for me, but the food (stuffed sole) and dessert (Molten Chocolate & peach rustica) - ambrosia! There were six of us and the server was an absolute master - timing everything perfectly. attentive but also giving us ample space. Club Car is going on my Top Ten Westchester list!"

  • "My only issue, and this was on multiple occasions, is the sound system used in the restaurant. The constant 'banging' of the bass makes for an unenjoyable listening experience and ultimately dining experience. We were there Friday night and it happened again......BANG BANG BANG regardless of the music being played. It's an assault on the ears. If it's some kind of intentional sound suppressor to drown out other ambient noise it isn't working. Like I saidwe'll continue to go there but be aware of the noise."

  • "The ambiance and the food were great. The hostesses were another story. We had a reservation and were told they just needed 10 minutes to seat us. No problem! We went to the bar and had a round of drinks. A half hour went by and we still weren't seated. They tell us they just need a few more minutes. (There were 3 empty tables!!) Another 20 minutes go by, so I had to get the manager involved. They then scrambled and finally sat us down. The manager didn't offer to comp anything and didn't even apologize. I recognize that places get busy, but we are your customers. Make us feel like you value us! It's not like we weren't paying good money to dine there!"

  • "This old train station has been given new life as an excellent restaurant. We were there at 6 on a Saturday night, so enjoyed quiet dining for most of our meal. It's a large place, and must be pretty noisy when full. The decor and ambience are perfect for the 1888 era of the building. Our waitress was friendly, attentive but not hovering, and very knowledgeable. The salads, entrees, and wine were first rate; we were too full for dessert. Definitely a return choice for a special evening."

  • "This is a great place with atmosphere and good food. BUT this time we didn't enjoy it as much. It was very noisy and the smell of garlic as we walked in was quite off-putting and overpowering! I had a delicious salad to start with watercress and goats cheese. But, my main course or salmon and lentils was disappointing. I had been asked how I wanted my salmon cooked (which was surprising) I wasn't sure how to answer so I just said "cooked!". It turned up overcooked and a little dry! Unforgivable really. The guy who served us was friendly but took too long before advising us of the specials and then we felt a little rushed! Shame really, I loved this place the last time!"

  • "We love the ambiance of Club Car, however it's a hit or miss type of restaurant. On our last visit Friday night, our appetizers were great: short rib special, calamari and salad. Our entrees were not as good. The veal chop special was very fatty and three in our party ordered it. All three were excessively fatty. Wine and drinks were very pricey. We have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed our meals. Service is always excellent."

  • "Really a comfortable feel as soon as you walk in. It gave off the feel of an "old school" men's club. Dark leather, chandeliers, etc. I loved the look. Sat at the bar waiting for our friends. My husband went to order a beer and the bartender was very quick to make a suggestion. Spot on recommendation. We were seated shortly after. We asked for bread and they were not so quick to bring it, but the place was quite crowded for a Saturday night. Sea Bass was exceptional as the 2 men stated. I had penne wheat pasta which was really good. I loved this place, I will be back. And on a side note, as we were getting ready to leave it was still VERY crowded with what seemed like a long wait for tables and a DJ was setting up."

  • "The ambience inside of the Club Car is very nice and the service was excellent. The food was good but it could use a little improvement. The bread surrounding the scungilli appetizer special was tough and very hard to cut with a knife. The pumpkin risotto was good but it could have been better if the some of the pumpkin chunks were smaller. The larger of the pumpkin chunks did not cook all the way through. My boyfriend's salmon was cooked perfectly. I would definitely return."
