We visited as part of Hudson Valley Restaurant week. The prix fixe menu was very good. We split the salad and the Wygu beef empanadas. Both were very good. Service was good and not intrusive. Water and wine glasses were refilled and when we asked for more of the delicious bread, the waiter brought another basket. One had the filet of sole lyonaise and the other the short ribs with polenta. I am not sure the fish was sole. It was a white fish and it was OK. We had a dessert that was not on the menu. They had run out of the dessert on the menu. It was OK....maybe a few days past fresh

The service was amazing, however the restueant week price fix menu was not subpar. The sole filet was covered in onions to the point that you could not see the filet. The pasta had very little broccolirabe was swiming in oil. The desserts were also not very good. The place is beautiful and the sevice was excellant.

We went during Hudson Valley Restaurant week on the recommendation of a friend. Disappointing experience all around. No cocktail menu, drinks sent back for flat soda, and an extraordinarily long wait for the food to arrive at the table. Some dishes were extremely salty while others lacked flavor altogether. I would not recommend them for a dining experience.

Set in a century old rail road station and nestled in the heart of Mamaroneck, the outstanding aesthetics of the building matches the cuisine. A great menu with a variety of dishes. Plentiful servings and great responsive service gives this restaurant high marks. It is great for a special occasion.

Real simply....the food was good, the waiter was fine, but the place has zero sound absorption. No carpet, drapes, nothing, tin ceiling, so everyone winds up having to shout at the people at their own table. I was exhausted by the end of the meal!

Lovely evening with friends. Initial greeting and service were terrific. Thought the prices were very high for portion sizes. $9 and $11 for a small salad. I had lobster roll for $22, which I thought was a fair price until I saw the size of the "lobster roll". Rather small brioche bun with an even smaller portion of lobster salad. Disappointing.

WHILE FOOD ITSELF WAS VERY GOOD, THE BUFFET AREA WAS TIGHT AND SHOULD BE EXPANDED WHILE COLD TABLE WAS EXCELLENT AND CARVING STATION MEATS VERY GOOD, EGG TABLE SERVED ONLY WARM FOOD THE PASTRY TABLE WAS NOT REPLENISHED FOR LATER DINERS , AS WE FOUND ONLY CARROTT CAKE REMAINING AT ABOUT 2;30pm NOISE LEVEL DISTURBING. COULD NOT SIT IN AREA OF THE BAND, WHICH PLAYED SO LOUD THAT CONVERSATION WAS IMPOSSIBLE. IF SAME BAND IS TO REMAIN, THEY SHOULD REDUCE VOLUME OR PERHAPS ADJUST MUSIC SELECTION I WOULD NOT REMAIN IF WE HAD TO SIT IN THE BAND AREA OF THE RESTAURANT. OVERALL WHILE FOOD VERY GOOD, NOT REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT RETURNING CONSIDERING DISTURBING HIGH NOISE LEVEL AND GENERAL LIMITED AREA OF BUFFET TABLES

My husband and I have been to Club Car 4 times. Each time there has been some small issue but we really like the place so we try again and again. The last time (Sat 9/27 was the worst!! Our waitress was awful! She neglected to tell us that the special house salad came with shrimp- we are kosher!!! My husband stately loudly and clearly that he is allergic to onions... his mashed potatoes were covered with them!! My daughter ordered the tuna with NO Quail egg- it came with the quail egg. We discussed all these issues with the Maitre D' and stressed that we were not looking to get out of paying the check but some gratuity on his part would have been nice.

The owners transformed this old train station into a beautiful gem. Jazz plays on Saturday nights, and we were really excited to eat here. But, when they messed up my app and entree, and it took 5+ minutes for someone to notice that I had no plate (both times), they didn't do the right thing and compensated us for it; be it a drink, dessert or even a profuse apology from the Manager. I won't be back anytime soon because of the service and it's a shame, because the food and ambiance were special.

Had a splendid dinner. I ordered the stuffed filet of sole. Beautifully presented, marvelously prepared with a crab stuffing , the restaurant to go to if you like fish, any kind of fish. 'Wait service was great. Waiter very knowledgeable and very condescending. Nice setting but may be a little too dark. We complained when someone lowered lights even more and that was corrected immediately. Hate to have to search for your plate.

  • Bad service and fatty steak
    Cleanplate
    Dined on 8/23/2014
Service was slow and steak was fatty and over priced for the quality. The bar had a few over served middle aged men that were hard to avoid. They need a NYC manager and staff, the local pizza polar has better service and is run more efficiently. You can't charge those food prices and then cater to the bar crowd as much as you do. On a Saturday night there was no management obvious presence or oversight and the wait staff is oddly delegated that they appear apathetic and have no ownership.

A friend recommended this hidden gem for a nice date night. She was correct in that the atmosphere inside is not what you would have expected....elegant, charming. The service was also fantastic. Unfortunately, the emanadas appetizer was soaked in grease/oil. We love emanadas but these were unedible. The waiter took them off the bill, which was a nice gesture. The main course came, beautiful presentation. We both ordered steak, him a sirloin and I had the filet with grilled shrimp. Both steaks were over cooked, but the flavor was not terrible. My filet was served in more of a bowl shape with lots of juice, veggies and sautéed mushrooms.

Club car had been my favorite go to dining destination in Mamaroneck. The decor is a cut above any other neighborhood restaurants, the staffing is polite, helpful and respectful and the food does not disappoint. Best choices are chops - wine list covers the necessary choices and is reasonably priced. Service is attentive and appropriate. It is my favorite local destination.

Our first time there. I had read of the hubbub surrounding this restaurant when it first opened and am glad I waited. We got right in, got the table we wanted after making our reservation online, and our waitperson Christie was top notch. Our drinks were excellent, my specified Sidecar especially. Thank you Christine the bartender. Calamari was excellent, the salad I had was good, as was the grey sole special my SO had. Dessert of tres leche cake with two kinds of ice was also outstanding. The remodeled train station is also very nice. Parking is free. My 'only' complaint - price. Dinner for two (one appetizer, one salad, one entree - one side, no starch, one dessert, two coffees) was $115. with tip.

Although this restaurant is visually pleasing, and the food is ok, it is somewhat discerning to see the chef hanging out at the bar not once but twice during the dining hours that I was there, talking to customers at the bar. It is also good for customer relations to give a table location to the customer who asked for that particular one and not try to fill up a certain part of the restaurant first.
