The food was unbelievable. I had a steak and my girlfriend had Dover Sole. Both were the best we ever had. This is also the most beautiful restaurant I have ever seen. It is very romantic. The wine list is also large with a wine for every taste. Bruno the owner is always walking through out the restaurant making sure everyone is taken care of. It is a little out of the way but worth the travel.
The weather was awful on the day and the restaurant was quiet - we had booked for 8:30 and most other diners were there by the time we arrived. They moved us to a booth once they knew it was my partners 50th birthday & treated us very well all night. It started with a glass of champagne & ended with a free desert.
The only negative, and i'm being picky is that the weather was dreadful and trying to get a cab in the rain at the end of the evening was difficult - we hadn't brought a brolly so some help with that would have been nice - but it didn't ruin the evening.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic SteakhouseThis was a lovely restaurant with dark wood and cushioned walls and ceiling. My Crab meat appetizer was great, 18 oz strip steak fantastic and wine was very good. The resturant gave us dessert gratis and was also going to give us a Sambuca which I had to decline at that point. The servers were attentive and knowledgable. Attentive and professional service. Very friendly owner/maitre'd. We overall absolutely loved the food and service.
We would change two things to make it perfect. First, the music is too loud and wrong era. This place deserves classics like Ella, Frank, Tony Bennett, not rock.
Second, the hash browns are not good. Too spicy, little potato flavor and overdone. Should offer regular hash browns like Peter Lugar and the Palm. Flavor was overwheliming of red pepper, which was not appealing.
Tables are too close together in the two tops to make dining romantic. Neighbors kept talking to us.

I've been there with or without and there's no falloff of red carpet treatment even when you have a coupon. The portions are copious and delicious, and there are many choices even on the coupon deals. There wine list is extensive and fairly priced, and they also have an excellent Malbec for $25 as well as an equally fine Sauvignon Blanc at the same price. This is a place for special occasions, but I find myself dining there alone from time to time savoring a dozen oysters or mushroom ravioli. You need a companion(s) to tackle their Porterhouse for two which easily feeds three!. A happy Monday night full house crowd seemed wowed by food, hospitality and service. The Petite filet mignon (a hefty 10 ounces) was as succulent a slab of beef as you are likely to have. The side dishes were all delicious. To make the matter worse, the bartender seems to be more interested in chatting than serve the customers waiting to be seated. On top of that, once the table was ready, the bartender said repeatedly that she "prefers if I settle the bill first" in the bar. Completely unprofessional.
The food was on par as you would expect from a steakhouse. We had bacon & calamari, salmon and filet, spinach & mac/cheese and tiramisu and cream puffs. The waiter serving was good and courteous and funny.

Some suggestions for improvement:
1. the sauces were too sweet (perhaps more suitable to American taste - I'm French) but the meat was so good anyhow that sauces were useless!
2. the mashed patatoes were a bit too salty. But the Boss assured it will be taken care of!

The entire staff, including the owner, makes you feel like you've known for years. You can't find places like this anymore.
