The 7 course dinner is worth trying and gives you an opportunity to explore all of what Chef Ken Oringer has to offer. I recommend this for all my foodie friends who visit Boston. The food is in the class of the highest end adventurous dining experiences, with non pretentious knowledgeable service and possibly a slightly more manageable price point. As an example of the dishes on offer, I had an appetizer of burgundy escargot made with kim chi topped with crispy duck tongue, the flavors were subtle, unusual and fantastic in combination. Most other dishes were seasonally aligned with some fish and red meat dishes such as short ribs and swordfish. The drinks on offer were excellent. The wine was on the high end per glass but was available with expert advice from our waiter and it is a restaurant experience for once in a while not every week!"

  • "It appears Clio prides itself on intricately crafted food and drink. The bar sports dozens of flavor distillations (essence of tobacco anyone?). The food all had a lot going on too. Soup was very complex with little bits of this and crumbles of that. Crab salad was brightly Asian flavored, possibly a bit overpowering for the crab. Our pork shoulder and venison entrees were perfectly cooked. Venison accompaniments were drops and swooshes on the plate, just shy of enough to satisfy. Pork sides were a jumbled pile, dark green squirts of nasturtium/wasabi sauce - though interesting in concept, not that wowing. Our server was charming and personable. The prices, fairly outrageous. Enjoyed it, but not on my short list."

The wine list is amaziing but the food is the reason you go to Clio.   • "The food and service was beyond compare. I thought my butter poached lobster tail was exquisitely prepared and delightful eat. The portion sizes were spot on perfect. All courses had a uniqueness about them that I had never experienced before. If I could give them 6 stars, I would! The price was on the high side but it was well worth it.   • "We went for the 10 course chef's tasting menu w/wine pairings. Before we started when asked about preferences my guest and I expressed no chocolate and no feta. I will spare you the delightful blow-by-blow descriptions of the meal but suffice it to say, my favorites were the tomato water soup, the fois gras and the amuse bouche made with meringue and picked plums. Some of the wines were absolutely delightful and some did not suit my tastes but none were paired poorly. I was surprised at the japanese beer and had to decline since it's not to my taste, but was not warned. The bus-person was amazing, charming and funny (and should be promoted). Our Table Cpt. was not quite so lucky but I expect it was an off-day. Too much noise for me."

  • "Creative menu but execution not consistent. Limited vegetarian options and the kitchen was not too flexible with changing menu items to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The beet salad had interesting flavors but the smoke from the almonds was overpowering. Since the tortellini (only vegetarian entree available) also had smoked mushrooms in it, by the end of the night I felt like I had eaten an ashtray. Nevertheless, the pasta was tasty and so was the squash soup and chocolate cremaux dessert. But for the price ($20/app, $40/entree) my expectations are very high and I left feeling underwhelmed. I'm sorry to say I won't be going back."

Went for a night out with a girlfriend and was treated to excellent and courteous service, fresh delish cocktails, and surprise of surprises a glutton free menu. Wish the GF rolls had been warmer, but honestly just eating a roll with dinner was a delight! We had several apps, all were lovely and timed well. Dinner was the scallops (for me) and they were served with a sunflower seed risotto--sans rice, just seeds--not sure how they managed to make this light but filling, but they did. Dessert was a chocolate plate and the cheesecake, both presentations were gorgeous, but the chocolate was exceptional."

The service was excellent without being overbearing. Someone was there when we needed them, but we weren't interrupted while we had our courses. The wine pairings were very well selected. We found the wait staff to be amateur. Most appeared to be college kids, none seemed like seasoned professionals. They were not too helpful with suggestions. It is very noisy. Not a place for a quiet conversation over dinner. Food is outstanding"

Our waiter was polite and very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and gave us pointers on the menu without going over the top. The food was excellent, presented and prepared to a very nice standard. The restaurant dealt very well with my food intolerance (noted at the time of the booking). We were serviced well without being harassed, a balance of which is very important to me. A very pleasurable experience, I would definitely return."

  • "My husband and I recently dined here on a Tuesday evening and it was one of the most memorable dining experiences I have ever had. He opted for the 10 course tasting menu and normally both parties particapate. Due to severe food allergies that was not of any interest to me. The staff at Clio was understanding and willing to work with me, which was wonderfull. I ordered the Heirloom Squash soup to start and than the Buttermilk Braised Chicken. Both where phenominal and delicious beyond words! Again if you are a foodie looking for a gastronomic treat this is surely it, or if you are just looking for a very luxurious night on the town with someone special this place is a must see while in Boston."
