ClioClio is Awesome!Clio is awesome! We enjoyed a 7 course tasting menu; left to the chef to decide... and every bite of every course was phenomenal. We live in Manhattan and have dined at every top restaurant NYC has to offer, and we would rate Clio right up there as one of the best. Truly a most enjoyable experience.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMRidiculous Wine MarkupsInventive cooking. First class ingredients. Pretty room. Ridiculous wine markups (3X+) from a very good list.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurantsClio serves some of the best food anywhere. It's pricy, but it's great for a special night out.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat tasting dinnerWe went here for a special occasion and had the tasting menu. It was wonderful with attentive service too. The lamb was superb as were the hay carrots.Highly reccomended.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was innovative and delicious.Food was innovative and delicious. Service was top notch. Everyone in my group of six gushed about our firsts, mains, and desserts. A fabulous evening!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe food at Clio is creative and outstanding. We had the 7 course tasting menu, which included samples from Uni (Clio's Sushi bar).
The service was attentive, but not hovering. The space is modest size but the layout is superb, so we did not feel that the neighboring table was too close.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Boston.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMReally special. Appetizers,Really special. Appetizers, entrees and deserts all unique . A terrific Manhattan with a black cherry and workable wine list. I would return without question on my next trip to Boston.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMClio produced the best mealClio produced the best meal I have ever eaten. I had the 7 course tasting and it was amazing. My only complaint is that this place is in Boston and not in my hometown. Clio will be my restaurant for now on when I come to Boston.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food. More importantlyOutstanding food. More importantly your service enhanced the dining experience. A Classy restaurant. The food and staff were superb.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMClio - Masters in the Art of FoodBoston is one of the world's great cities. Clio is certainly one of the finest restaurants in Boston. My wife and I search for the rare experience of exceptional chef paired with professional service. Clio is a must for those who are in search of masters of the art. Chef Oringer creates unique prix fix meals for each customer. The service is impeccable. The sommelier is courageous - yes! - not afraid to try something new. We had a beer pairing that were perfect. Rare find. Not to be missed.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIn my mind this was the mostIn my mind this was the most delicious, creative and interesting meal I have had in years. The complexity of of the white asparagus dish could not be translated, the flavors made me want to applaud with each mouthful. The venison was so tender, delicious and perfectly prepared I ate it very very slowly savoring every generous mouthful so that it would last. The accompanying fois gras was an extra nice touch. I asked the waitress if I could have a green vegetable, since there were no sides on the menu. The chef obliged with a flavorful combination of sauteed brocoli rabe and baby bok choy.
My only regret is that I haven't made this restaurant my go-to place for all my special occasions.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a gem of a restaurant! This is a gem of a restaurant! Fabulous Bar with an incredible artisanal drink menu as well as lovely wines. The room is elegant but not at all stuffy, the service is friendly and attentive, and professional to a "t". The food is as exquisite as it is delicious. I would highly recommend this wonderful place!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I come down toMy wife and I come down to Boston from Vermont for food and shopping. We've always enjoyed
Clio! The food and service are excellent and you can always expect something new and inventive. We always look forward to our meals there!!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDo the tasting menu!Took my daughter there for her birthday. Staff was great, very friendly. We had the tasting menu (7 dishes) with wine pairings. Food was excellent and wait staff explained all the dishes and wine in detail. Some of the dishes weren't on the menu but prepared just for the tasting menu. Due to that the service was leisurely. Tried some things that I would probably not order from the menu and everything was great. And most importantly my daughter really enjoyed it.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI've long been a fan of Clio,I've long been a fan of Clio, but this time the food was somewhat uneven. At its best it remains among Boston's best, and the service is reliably excellent. The wine list, unfortunately, has flown into the stratosphere, which sends the bill in the same direction.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMUnbelievably GoodThis is truly one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. From the service to the food, the meal was incredible. They made a point of making us feel welcome and comfortable (with a seven year old in tow), and they went out of their way to make sure she has a fantastic experience. The meal was truly incredible. I had no idea hake could taste like that!
Thank you, thank you, thank you -- we will be back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe very best restaurant inThe very best restaurant in Boston! Exquisite service, delicious and unusual food, and a lovely ambience. Each time I go back I am almost afraid I will be disappointed, but each time it is even better. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves food and enjoys the experience of dining.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful and truly innovative. HDelightful and truly innovative.
Had wonderful "firsts" including lamb tongue that was extremely flavorful and another with urchin and lobster...foamed; unique blend of flavors and textures. Delicious main of squab that was cooked to perfection.
The service was great and the ambience very soothing however the proximity to the bar made it quite loud particularly considering the ceiling heights (high). If you are looking for a quiet evening, it is not going to happen here.
Ken Orringer continues to be a master...3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my third time diningThis is my third time dining at Clio, and each time the preparation and presentation of the food has been superb.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, a wonderful evening. As always, a wonderful evening. The Cassolette first course and Venison entree were fantastic.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came to Clio for the firstWe came to Clio for the first time for my spouse's special birthday, and had a wonderful experience. We had the seven course tasting menu with wine pairings. The birthday celebratee, a foodie, said it was the best meal he ever had. and the birthday3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLovelyI was staying at The Eliot Hotel and arrived into town late. I wanted to find a place nearby to have dinner before heading up to my room. I was delighted to find this restaurant in the hotel, which is the perfect setting for it. The place is beautiful and the menu was amazing. The waitstaff saw very attentitive and the food was incredible.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMKen Oringer is brilliant.Ken Oringer is brilliant. Every dish we had was inventive and enjoyable. I highly recommend the abalone soup and the big eye tuna sashimi for appetizers. For the main, I ordered the salmon with white lentils and cleaned the plate. For dessert, the Kouing-Aman was decandent, rich and left me thinking about it for days. Overall, I cannot wait to go back to Clio. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, I'm still thinking about the experience days later which all makes the meal worth the price.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM1st rate!My girlfriend & I are both foodies from NYC. We both thought Clio was outstanding. We had the 10 course chef tasting. Every course was amazing. Portions were the perfect size. Even though the service was very good I would probably go for the 7 course tasting next time as I became somewhat impatient towards the end. Again, an excellent food experience. One of the better meals we have had.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful meal as alwaysA wonderful meal as always - it was difficult to choose which foi gras but i think the one that we both preferred was the lacquered one. Scallops were also lovely but the lobter wass superb with a delicate, intensley flavoured foam which did not overwhelm the soft taste of the lobster. The waiting staff was attentive but unassuming2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly RecommendedAbsolutely wonderful meal. My suggestion would be to do a seven course meal if you plan on getting an appetizer, entree and dessert and a bottle of wine anyway. It's not that much difference so you may as well go ahead and take the splurge. One of my favorite meals in Boston besides O Ya. Looking forward to going again.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
