Diner Reviews
  • "Great food and service. But how can a top-notched restaurant run out of TONIC WATER on a Saturday night. Hmmmmm"

  • "'we went based on prior reviews and they were 100% right. The food and service were great. Prices were reasonable and we would eat here again. The only issue is parking as we had to pay $10.00 to park in a lot but that is the same with all of the restaurants in the area."

  • "Brought friends from out of town; each of us had our own great dinner --- scallops, prime rib, pasta! There is something for everyone's taste. Our server, Sean, is outstanding. Our third time in and he knows our names! Great service, great food! Our new "go to" for dinner!"

  • "Excellent service. Food was above average though not perfect. The beer and wine list was excellent and ambiance was superb."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "The food was good and attractively displayed. Portion size was generous and acceptably priced."

  • "My Wife and I love coming here!!! The food was cooked to perfection and our waitress was the best! We have been seated at one of her tables before and she always seems to give great service to everyone in her section. I had the Filet, while my wife opted for the Prime Rib. Both of us left full and happy! We would recommend a visit to Chop if you have not already been there. It's a great place for a special occasion or if you just want to go somewhere nice to sit down and have a great meal, as we did on 03/15/14."

  • "Very enjoyable evening - food, service, drinks wonderful."

  • "Wonderful great food quite restaurants the calamari was crunchy and with a ginger sauce that we could get enough of. My mushroom pizza was delicious and the cheese was very flavorful! The best was the hamburger my husband ordered, the meat was so fresh and tasted like you were eating a steak on a bun! Very tender and juicey. We will diffidently go back to Chop!"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Food was okay, not good - not bad. I expected better. I have had better food at chain restaurants; Outback, Longhorn, etc., and for much less money."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "The plates were nothing short of great Cleveland eating! The food was great, the server was nice, and you certainly don't leave the facility hungry. Following the name change, I miss the old brewing tankers and home crafted draft selection, but the food quality has certainly been given a boost. Will go back again."

  • "Some restaurants really limit their menu when it comes to Cleveland Restaurant Week. Not so with Cleveland Chop. They put their best foot forward. Our portions were generous, well-prepared with attentive service. We will surely go back."

  • "Since it was Restraunt week...took advantage of prices..Food was overpriced and nothing out of the ordinary"

  • "I very rarely get the chance to eat at the nicer restaurants in Cleveland, but during the city's Restaurant Week, I always like to try new places. We chose Cleveland Chop based on their menu offerings for this event and I am glad I made this choice. We arrived before our reservation and were seated right away. The food was outstanding and the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere with the bar area separate from the dining area. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the Cleveland area."

  • "Although I had reservations, I prefer the bar area for dining and this was accommodated no problem. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. My date and I were there for restaurant week and got the $30, 3 course specials, which were very good. I was able to enjoy a nice meal with my date while also catching a bit of the game on the high definition televisions. All in all, a good dining experience."

  • "Another restaurant we tried during CLE Restaurant Week and we were completely left in awe! Ambiance, service, food... absolutely everthing was top-notch. My 12oz Strip was perfectly seasoned and seared; the rissoto were little pillows of heaven. Warm cornbread... Steak sticks... Yep, we'll be back!!"

  • "We went for Cleveland restaurant week. It was good food for the deal night but wouldn't have been worth it at full price. Appetizer cornbread was delicious!"
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "Their steaks where amazing Plus they bring a homemade cornbread to the table to share that was great. Plus two custom drafts"
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "we tried a lot of "fancy" restaurants as part of restaurant week, and in the end, cleveland chop was our favorite. for the money, the best food and service. the ambiance is very nice, nothing "super fancy" but it's a nice place. you don't feel super stuffy there like some other famous chef places downtown. our server wasn't pushy and made great suggestions for drinks and entrees. she nailed it! and at the end of the night she offered to take our picture for us. we loved every single bite of food. the cornbread skillet is to die for! if i had to pick one tiny flaw, the creme brulee wasn't the best. the sugar wasn't crisp on most of it, and where it was, it was burned. but underneath, it was decadent."

  • "This was our first time visiting Cleveland Chop, we took the opportunity during Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week. Our server, Liz, was fantastic. She was very personable and great about making sure we had everything we needed. The food...amazing. The Market Salad (I'm not one to go in a frenzy over a salad, but this one was great!), the cornbread, our entrees, and dessert were each mouthwatering, beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. We can't stop raving about it to our friends, and we will be coming back very soon."

  • "We tried the Clevelandf Chop as part of the Downtown Cleveland restaurant week. Although we ended up ordering from the regular menu instead of the special $30 3-course special menu, our dinner total was virtually the same. Once our server realized we had been seated, service was very good and attentive. The entrees were right on time and everything was served hot. Parking is easy with the valet at the door. We recommend and will return in the future."

  • "I really had a nice time at Cleveland Chop. We went there for Restaurant Week. The food was fantastic, our server was great, and overall we really had a nice time. I have nothing negative to say!"

  • "Not really that good. Soup came out cold. Steak had marks from the jockey, and cheesecake was out of a box."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "We had a great evening @ Cleveland Chop. We went during Sunday evening happy hour and were impressed with all of the appetizers and the nice selection of craft brews on tap. We also had a couple of delicious salads! We will definitely be back!"

  • "Seriously, I am one of those "well done" guys who gets the awful looks from servers and companions alike when I order my steak with all of the juice and flavor cooked out of it (to eliminate the pink). But the steak I received was UNBELIEVABLY tender, juicy and flavorful - with no pink! I will be back SOON. The only drawback is the noise level, but that is due to the exposed brick walls and high, exposed ceilings. The restaurant is beautiful though and the food is well worth the small drawback."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "They couldn't seat us right away so we sat in the bar area. There was only 1 waitress for the entire bar area so our service was below average. We did not get drinks refilled, and were not checked up on very often. The food however was as good as it always is and is highly recommended."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Great night out. Everything on the menu sounds outstanding from the pastas to seafood to of course the steaks. With it being a chop house, i had to go with the butchers choice and it was a great t-bone steak. Price is great for what you receive and a fabulous wine list. Server could be more in tune with the wine list in order to help with the purchase of a bottle of wine."

  • "It fits, nothing trendy on then menu a classic steakhouse. Steaks and chops prepared as ordered. Like a glove the room has not changed much since it was The Chop House. Brewery equipment removed but it seemed the same. Management was very conspicuous and was working to make this restaurant have staying power in the market"

  • "We accidentaly made reservations at your establishment, we intented to go to The Crop but mistyped and Chop was what was spelled not only until you confirmed my reservation time did I realize my mistake. My wife, two childred(7 & 10) and I had a most excellent dining experience. We are glad we made the mistake because it was the first time we dined at The Chop and every meal was very tasty including the peanut butter bread &'brownie smores sunday. Thanks for a great dining experience."

  • "We went to the Chop for Valentines Day. The only reservation we could get was a 430 pm time. Almost too early but we managed and things worked out okay. The thing I didn't like was the restaurant was half empty the entire time we were eating. So I didn't understand the hardcore 430 pm time as the only available. It created a child care, work and rush hour problem for us. But hey as long as the restaurant is happy right? On to the positive things. Nice decor, lighting a bit dim but everything looked real nice. Food was great. Service attendant seemed a bit rushed but overall was good. I'd return but on my terms next visit time wise."

  • "We arrive at 7:30 on the dot for our reservations made through opentable, and were told we had to wait fifteen minutes. What is the purpose of a reservation? The waitress was rude, and my food was overcooked. I enjoyed the restaurant only once before now in December of 2013, and I will say it has made a change for the worse. Very disappointed."

  • "Let me start by stating my Wife and I love this Restaurant and have been going there for year's (used to be Cleveland Chophouse). This was by far the worst experience we have ever had there! For starters, they sat us at the very rear of the restaurant, which may be why our waitress seemed to not remember us. They have a corn bread skillet that is given as the bread for the table, it's worth going to Chop alone. But, yeah, we didn't get that. Another staple of Chop are their White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes...after we ordered them, our waitress came back to tell us they were out & we would need to pick another side. My wife ordered an 8 oz. filet cooked medium, that came out medium rare. Bad night on Valentine's Day. Hope this isn't the trend!"

  • "This is a nice place but I was a bit underwhelmed. My expectation could have been too high. I was with a customer on a Sunday trying to have a nice dinner representative of Cleveland. Not bad but not what I was shooting for or hoping for. Great location, capable staff. Food presentation was marginal and a little slow. Food quality was good but not great. There is potential but I was hoping for more. I will definitely give the Chop another try- this could have been a Sunday anomaly."

  • "The food was good but just average for a downtown restaurant."

  • "Sunday early evening and where to go, but the Cleveland Chop House. Great food, loved the corn bread and loaded mashed potatoes! Great Service! Look forward in going back!"

  • "Really great experience. Sausage stuffed pepper appetizer was amazing! Will definitely return!"

  • "The food wasn't as good as we had expecting. We got the ribeye and I have had much better steak before and for much cheaper. As an expensive restaurant, located downtown, I expected better."

  • "Overall wonderful dining experience. Will be back for sure!!"

  • "My wife bought a four course dinner coupon off of Travlezoo. I will keep this shirt. Our server was great, talkative but not not annoying. The apps were ok, the steak cigars were great but the crab cake was lacking. Soup and salad course were good. Then the steaks. I or greed the 18 oz Ribeye, I got a fatty 12 oz steak of somekind and mine was 100 times better than wife's. Her Filet was ordered medium rare and it came out charred to a crisp. Not a very good effort for a steak house. The deserts were good and we had a nice evening besides the lousy steaks."

  • "A friend and I had just returned from being out of the country on business for qute a long time. We wanted good American food and a good steak at that. Our first city back in the U.S. (also for business) was Cleveland and we settled on Cleveland Chop fon our first night back for a good steak dinner. We were not disappointed. Great steak, cooked exactly the way we wanted. Great appetizers, friendly service but not overwhelming so we could enjoy a good conversation without being fussed over too much. Fun drink menu. I tried one of their specialities the Veranda, it was great. The sides choices with the steaks were good and creative. Nice bar that I would not mind coming back too."
