A word from Clementine - Baltimore
Clementine likes to tell a story using food. Sometimes the story is a history lesson, sometimes it features the latest culinary trend and, usually, its a mixture of both.

We change our dinner menu daily, using local and seasonal ingredients as much as possible, make our own charcuterie and, in general, offer fabulous food and drinks for not so much dinero.

Our award-winning bar offers a rotating, hand-picked selection of unusual (and exceptional) boutique wines, craft beers and artisanal spirits. We even offer retail wine sales during open hours! Sunday, too!!!

  • "My date and I dined at Clemintine to celebrate my birthday. She also gave me a challenge to find a restaurant in the area that served rabbit since she was raised overseas. We ordered the charcuterie,an intresting combination of lardon, duck pate, sausage,and pickles. Then we ordered the fried rabit. I like the taste but it was a bit tough. It could of used a diffrent cooking method. I heard from my father that he really liked your brunch menue. He would also like to try your lunch and dinner offerings. All in all we had a nice time."

  • "The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and comforting. The food was very good - two of us ordered scallops which were fresh and deilsh. The chicken dinner was the winner!! The mac and cheese appetizer was perfection but the pork nachos would not be something we'd order again. Unfortunately there was a glitch in the kitchen that evening and it took over 90 minutes to get our dinner :( We would hope that the waiter would check in on us more and inform of us the situation - but instead we had to seek him out and ask what was taking so long. The manager did comp the appetizers which is a nice monetary savings - but we were so hungry and a bit frustrated we didn't even want to stay for dessert. Not sure if we will go back."

  • "We have been coming to Clementine's since it opened, Winston and the staff are very adept at making you feel at home. Not a formal place, but can put out some very formal food. Brunch is great for families with kids who can enjoy the toy corner and second dining room to the benefit of everyone in the first room who would like a peaceful breakfast. Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner; we've always had a great time at Clementine's."

  • "I really like Clementine, the food is creative and tastes good, the people are friendly and I enjoy the atmosphere. I dine here with friends and family. Everyone likes it, but the common theme lately seems to be that the portion size is shrinking. Every time my boyfriend has been here for dinner, he has left hungry. I used to leave here stuffed to the gills, but now I'm just no longer hungry when we get the check. I haven't noticed this shift in regards to brunch portions. Maybe I have just had a run of bad luck the past few times I have been in for dinner. I will definitely be back for brunch when my bro comes home to visit from AL."

  • "I like that this business supports local farmers and other business. I appreciate the food, however, because their menue changes so much, if you happen to come on a night that just does not give you options you are fond of, well, you are out of luck. The other night, for example, out of the 6 or so appitizer choices, I saw only one that was pleasing. Service is good, but can be slow at times. I also asked to replace one of my sides for another and it did not happen and the server did not even realize I did not get what I asked him for. One visit every couple of months is fine for me."

  • "Loved the entree selection and the ambience--homey with vintage furnishings. Charcuterie plate was well done--included great on-site made pate and sausage. Food was delicious but portions are a bit skimpy--the oyster and grits dish had only three oysters. Nice wine selection. Service was excellent."

  • "We have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The menu changes with the seasons, and the chef is very creative. The food is always delicious and visually appealing. They are super kid-friendly - there's a play area in the corner of one of the dining rooms. If you have kids, be sure to request a table in the room with the toys so you can stay at your table and have grown-up time while keeping an eye on the little ones."

  • "We went with friends who love food as much as we do, and it was great! Wonderful food (the duck was terrific!), great service, lovely atmosphere...the only drawback was the noise, which was so overwhelming that my elderly father and even some less elderly members of our group of 7 couldn't hear the conversation....could you hang some tapestries or something? Or perhaps we have to avoid weekend nights with folks over 60! But overall it was a wonderful evening."

  • "Let me start off saying the food was good. The Mac n cheese and chicken were spot on with its flavors, and my banana creme brûlée rocked. With that being said the service was poor and left a sour taste in my mouth. We had dinner reservations for a party of six. It didn't take long for us to be seated or to order our meals. The part that was terrible was how long it took for our meals to come out. I saw people who had been sat after us get their food before we even came close to getting ours. Our server kept saying our entrees would be coming out but they never came. We honestly waited close to an hour and a half for our food. The server never apologized for the wait and then we were charged gratuity. We will not be returning."

  • "I went here during restaurant week for a friend's birthday. The menu was a fixed one. We were a little disappointed because they were out of a few of the offerings, mainly the hanger steak. We ordered a mix of appetizers which were good. I ordered the meatloaf which was excellent. The portions were small but good. Once we placed our alcoholic beverage orders, the waiters disappeared. We had read that the service was mediocre so we were prepared. The atmosphere is cool, it is located in downtown Hamilton."

  • "I found the Clementine to be fresh, funky, and friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy without being too crowded. The food was fresh and very good. The service was attentive without making you feel rushed and friendly and helpful. We went on a Sunday and they had a Date Night Special for $40 for two people that included soup or salad, entree for each person and a dessert to share. We got a good sampling of a variety of foods. I look forward to returning again soon!"

  • "We were huge fans from inception. Always knew we were in for a solid meal, many times a unique spin on an old favorite. It was 2 yrs since our last visit. Last night, there were a few items that didn't quite make the mark, but the main issue we had was the service. Very spotty & inattentive. When you spend over $200 incl 2 bottles of wine & dessert, you'd hope to think your server wouldn't forget you for intervals at a time. To be fair, it was a busy night but we felt like everyone else (including hostess/runners) were more mindful of our needs. The mac-n-cheese, heavy, like a brick, no flavor & not hot. Rockfish was fishy & dry. Dessert was a take on the classic "twinkie". So dry & uninteresting. Craved whipped cream/vanilla ice cream."

  • "I've been there a number of times when they were relatively new, and then just returned this week after several years and the food has definitely taken a turn for the worse. I had an oyster dish that was nearly absent of any oysters or oyster flavor and was completely overshadowed by the taste of sweet potatoes. Perhaps they were trying for sweet and salty, but they left out the salty part. At any rate the dish was a complete failure. It tasted more like a side dish than an entree. The cake I ordered for dessert was flat out stale and coffee was served lukewarm. Service was efficient and friendly but that doesn't make up for the bland food."

  • "The service was great considering it was very busy. All of the food was fresh and delicious. My only minor criticism would be about the specialty cocktail selection. Many of the drinks were bourbon and whiskey based which appeals to a specific group of drinkers. I opted for wine which was perfect. Will be going back for brunch soon!"

  • "Clementine is a great neighborhood restaurant, in a neighborhood with lots of families with young children. Afternoon brunch turned into daycare central, and the noise level became aggravating. It seemed all of the servers were working the "child-friendly" half of the restaurant, because the quieter half was near-deserted by 2 p.m. on a recent Sunday. The kitchen took forever to crank out our scrambled egg dishes, which were hefty but nothing to rave about."

  • "I visited Clementine for a family celebration based on a past outing when the food and atmosphere were perfect for such an occasion. This time, however, the food was simply "good," rather than "excellent" like before. My tomato soup and muscles appetizer were flavorful, but cold. And my pork chop was sufficiently dry and salty that I gave it to my husband in exchange for his duck. Both the pork and the duck were also cold. In addition, my husband's coconut cake was so dry that even he was disappointed (and his standards aren't that high). The one standout was the chocolate peanut butter cake, which was divine. I would go back to Clementine again given the prior good experience, but I probably wouldn't recommend it."

When I went during restaurant week, they weren't quite on their game, but I'll still go back throughout the year because that was very unusual and every other time I've gone there, it's been a purely delightful dining experience."

I've never had a bad dining experience at Clementine, though I admit when I went for Noodle Nursday the menu left quite a bit to be desired.   • "We went during the Baltimore restaurant week in Feb. The menu had a diverse selection of food including duck, pork chops, salads, soups, etc... They were out of some of the items; but this was not a surprise as we did have a late reservation (9pm). The waitress was very helpful and kind. It was a great experience to have with loved ones and friends!! I can't wait to go back again soon!!"

  • "Tired of winter blahs we ventured out on a Thursday night to enjoy Clementine's always eclectic, well prepared menu. My hangar steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare and my wife enjoyed the house made lamb sausage with just the right amount of spices. A bottle of Italian Barbera at half -price complemented our meals and really chased the winter blues away. We have enjoyed Clementine in the past for the food and because the staff always seems glad to see you and are attentive without being intrusive. We arrived at 6 pm during Clementine's first stab at joining Restaurant Week. Given the the number of patrons arriving after 7 pm , I suspect it was a wise decision. We had a reservation and strongly recommend it if you go. Bill R"

  • "Let me start by saying that the food was really oustanding. The menu is unique, and the execution is near perfect. The only trouble was that, with our late reservation and the 10 minutes it took them to seat us, we had VERY limited options by the time our order was taken. I believe there were only three appetizer options left, and they were out of three of the entrees...and of course those were the top choices of nearly everyone in our group. The duck leg was to die for, as was the accompanying sides. Others at the table got the chicken and meatloaf, and they also were quite pleased. So I definitely recommend this place for dinner, but get there by 7."

  • "Clementine boasts excellent, attentive servers, and a regular menu with several great options. The charcuterie platter is not to be missed; it's a true carnivore's delight! The sausage and sliced meats are delicious, but the pate cannot be overlooked. It is smooth, layered with flavors, and not as mineral-y as pate's can sometimes taste. Entrees are down-home delicious with inventive twists--like duck nachos! The cocktail menu itself is a revelation. Mixing herbs and spirits is Clementine's forte. The Tequila Fresca is amazing: fresh, bright. There is a bourbon-pear cider cocktail that is equally delicious. Prices are reasonable for offerings. We spent $100 on 2 cocktails, 1 appetizers, 2 entrees, and dessert."

  • "Consistently good service, good timing, tastefully but not over the top decor. But the best part is the menu! The food is local, seasonal and oh so consistently good! Our winter greens salad was a perfect starter. Not too much dressing and not too much salad. The "fish and chips?" Was potato crusted scallops entree was delectable. My hubby's duck breast delicious. They have a great wine list, and the waiter made a great recommendation for the duck, while the white sangria was not sweet and perfect with the scallops. Dessert - one of our favorites, tres leches cake. Went down fast with a cup of good coffee."
