Clay Hill FarmPerfect for Mother's DayOld school elegance. It feels like it's been there forever. It's classy - with live piano music and beautiful gardens. I went with my elderly mother and my 4 young children and all were happy with the food and the experience. The only down side is the cost, which is high, and we weren't drinking. Great spot for a special occasion.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMreturn after twenty yearsI used ti come to the area on business once a year and would go to Clay Hill on one of my nights with my colleagues.....my wife had never been
The ambience and setting in spectacular....food very good....worth a return visit5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Date DiningThis was my first date with someone I really like and I have to say you impressed us both. Very high end effect with a touch of warmth. Truley a great dining experience, thanks you.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary Get AwayWe had a phenomenal experience at Clay Hill Farm. Sat at arguably the best table in the house, and the wait staff was helpful and kind, albeit appearing a little frustrated with our frugal choices (as two graduate students). They split our entree for us ahead of time which was incredibly nice, and the meal was out of this world. We had the clams as an appetizer which absolutely blew my mind, followed by an amazing pork mignon with sweet potato puree and brandy thyme cream. The setting is absolutely beautiful as well. The only reason this got 4 rather than 5 stars is that the chocolate lava cake was nothing special and the wait staff did make it quite clear that we should feel a little bad for not ordering more food.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Special! We celebrated our 24 th anniversary and was treated to a culinary experience and evening second to none!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOur 40th Wedding AnniversarySpecial occasion, special restaurant! We selected the Clay Hill Farm because of a friend's recommendation and because of their dedication to using local sources and produce. Our server, Kelly, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We had a few questions about the menu which he quickly answered for us in great detail. My husband and I shared a delicious Charcuterie appetizer plate that included a variety of meats, cheeses, and breads smoked and grilled by the chef. We then shared a fresh seasonal strawberry salad. My husband selected the panko encrusted haddock and I chose the braised pork short ribs for our entrees; both were outstanding. We ended our meal with a yummy ice cream sundae. 5 Stars!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our 2nd time at theThis was our 2nd time at the restaurant. The ambience is lovely, the service excellent, and the food well prepared and presented. We love the piano in the bar area, and everyone is very friendly and accomodating. It's a great place for dinner before the theatre, or just a night out. Prices are perfectly acceptable for the quality of the experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPerhaps the finest Restauran in MaiWe visited Clay Hill Farm on Easter. It was a busy day. I think every thing went very well. The food was excellent, the service was professional, The building is old, but the atmosphere is great. One thing I think is especially commendable is the staff. They are friendly. well trained, unfailingly polite. They will do anything reasonable to make your visit memorable. I have always said Clay is perhaps the fineast restaurants in Maine. I see no reason to change that opinion based on our experience on Easter sunday.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it !!We loved it and will highly recommend your place to friends !! Located in a beautiful bucolic setting yet only a few miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean, Clay Hill Farm is a gem. This restaurant has a beautiful country setting surrounded by gardens, flowers and trees. The atmosphere is so romantic and quiet. It is the perfect place to bring a date or have a special occasion. The food is reasonable and fresh. The service is top notch. There is also a lovely piano bar that is great in the evening.
