We needed a restaurant near Washington Square and found Claudette. Delightful restaurant, especially on a beautiful sunny day when the window/doors are open to Fifth Avenue. Nice selection of wines by the glass, service was very good without being intrusive. I recommend the warm lamb salad which was excellent. I am glad I had a reservation as it was very busy at lunchtime. Surprised to learn that it has only been open for 14 weeks - it felt like it had been there forever.

Truffled hummus, excellent lamb salad, and excellent seasonal vegetable plates shine on a refreshingly spare, navigable menu. Limited spacing between tables leaves diners feeling a little claustrophobic, but this is slated to be a dependably satisfying, unassuming, if unspectacular, new provençale addition to the west village.

Food was great. We ordered the octopus appietizer and the bouillabaisse and lamb entrees. And for desert the pistachio cake. We would order all of this again - everything was delicious. We need to take one star off since the hostess did not come find us right outside the front door while waiting for a table even though we had made a reservation. When I checked back 20 minutes later I saw serveral available tables.

A quaint farmhouse meets Moroccan atmosphere. Noise level semi-intolerable; food good, but not amazing. Service was efficient, but not warm. There was nothing glaringly bad about it, just not impressed and would not go back again. Not that interesting, friendly or impressive food-wise.

We had lunch and it was very nice. I had the bouillabaisse en croute which was savory with monkfish, shrimp, octopus and a very nice puff pastry top. She had grilled fish which was nicely done. Perfectly cooked. Good wine list,we had a good Sancerre. The service was good and casual. Cute, casual, bistro space. I would go again.

I brought my sister here on Sunday for brunch. The hostess was so professional & personable. She helped move us when the sun got too strong for my sister. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu & attentive to our needs. We had a funny incident with dessert in that the white chocolate bark was not included in our dessert selection (despite it being listed on the menu). When we pointed it out to our waitress, she quickly went to the pastry kitchen to find out what happened. The manager later came to us, toward the end of our meal, to let us know that they are updating the menu asap to avoid confusion & comped our dessert. Overall, the food, service, ambiance, were impeccable. My husband & I live in the area & I will bring him & others!

Had a very good dinner there on Sunday. The "Du Jardin" options were very good and fresh. The lamb salad was delicious, and the chicken tagine was very good, too - very tender. We had the lemon pound cake for dessert, which was ok. The raspberry mousse on it was delicious, but the cake wasn't as moist as I thought it should be. Ambience was great - felt like being in the Hamptons.

Claudette is the new restaurant that sits in a space on 9th Street and 5th Avenue. This space has seen many restaurants, good ones, come and go. Claudette is not quite good, only fair; but to be fair we went on the first Sunday on which they served brunch. The room is very "Cape Cod" beachy (let's see how this feels in the dead of winter); the server was attentive, actually thoughtful; but the food was just okay. The taste of my lamburger came primarily from the pickled veggies on it and not the meat. The truffled humus was bland, certainly not worth $18. The menu seems to promise exotic tastes but does not deliver - at least at this first brunch. Nonetheless it was very pleasant.

the menu here is fantastic. the food was delicious and really original and not totally overwhelming. lighter fare so you get to sample a lot of the items on the menu. the chicken tagine was a standout as was the beet salad and the truffle hummus. the service really wasnt that good. we asked our waiter if he could help us select a bottle of wine and he knew nothing about wine and for some reason didn't refer us to the sommelier! in one description of wine he said it tasted of "stone fruits, minerals, grassy, fruit fwd and very dry." not sure how all of those are in one bottle. they also were too aggressive trying to rush usl. the waiters and busboys would try to clear our plates the second you put your fork down!!

have a crush on a girl, and her name is Claudette. I LOVED this place. The food is ballsy.... which is great, coming from a female chef. I couldn't have been more pleased. The room is probably the most gorgeous space I've seen in New York... in no way fussy; it looks exactly how I wished my apartment looked. Literally, I loved everything. The lemon tart was one of the most delicious things I've eaten all year. It will go on my top ten list on www.followthechefnyc.blogspot.com . The servers were so friendly and helpful it was as if I was a regular... and I may become one.

This is a lovely room....light filled, beautifully designed, pretty with great service. If only the food matched the decor. Wnt for lunch. Pomme Frites were limp, overy seasoned with cumin + cinnamon. Lamb salad was very good, provencal chicken salad was ladened with cumin (must have been the spice de jour) and hidden under a mass of carrot ribbons. Very tight tables. Menu is huge in size, limited in offerings. Not rushing back for mediocre food.

For starters we had a deliciously prepared 4 oz. fois gras. Yummy. My wife had the Chicken Tagine which was absolutely heavenly. Full of flavor and textures.., perfection! After much debate, I chose the Bouillabaisse. It was very salty broth and very scarce ingredients. Overall a very weak "watered down" fish stock. It was more of a 'seafood watery soup' than a stew. Very disappointed. No Rouille? WTH? Desert was perfection. Lavender cake was awesome. Pot de creme was a tad overcooked, but the fleur de sel on top really was a nice touch. Can not wait to return and see what they offer in the Fall.

What a pleasure to be seated in an airy, well-lit room for dinner. This has to be one of the most pleasant, soothing spaces in New York. The vegetable "Jardin" appetizers are remarkably fresh and delicious. We had the warm cauliflower (in an amazing mustard dressing) and the spring peas and radish salad. The whole daurade was delicious, but the sea bass main was disappointingly under seasoned. The side of fries with Moroccan spices was delicious, but if you're a strict vegetarian, don't dip the fries in the accompanying sauce - it's made from shellfish (and is wonderful). Service was a bit disengaged but efficient.

The restaurant looks beautiful. The food was horrible. I had the Boulubaisse and my friend had the Ahi. The pastry on top of my dish was it seemed barely glued on with some nondescript yellow substance. The broth was overwhelmed with lemon juice and the fish was of poor quality. The squid was a brownish color, the mussels were tiny and fishy, it was barely edible. The Ahi baguette was so hard it had to be reconstructed as an open faced sandwich. The texture of the semifredo was off. It was like an ice cube and the American coffee was mud and had to be returned after the waiter questioned whether my friend was right about it or not. A big disappointment.

The food is amazing- whether it's the truffle hummus or the whole dorado- it's all well done. We were told it was an hour wait without a reservation. We decided to stay. The bar area is right in the path of kitchen traffic, so if the bar is full there are limited places to stand without getting bumped by the wait staff. Three quarters of the way to the hour mark, I decided to make a 10pm reservation on Open Table since the hostesses couldn't commit to a seating. When I asked if a table would be ready at 10pm, since I made a reservation, the hostess said a reservation doesn't mean guaranteed seating at that time, and that this is a Friday night in NYC, so she doesn't know of a place that would seat on time. At 10:25 we were seated.

Having had difficulty reserving for for dinner, I was happy to see that they opened up for lunch AND at a time that coincided with my day off! It was a beautiful day and they had the sense to open the windows rather than freeze us with the A/C. I had the peas/radish salad-very fresh and bright, my partner had the ratatouille tarte (oved it). I had the pasta w/herbs/cheese/butter - light & v.nice but a little heavy on the herb (nutmeg?); she had the bouillbasse (sp?) and we both agreed that it was the stand out dish. Overall, a great experience. Now if I could just get in for dinner!

No time for a plane, for mad dash to pull clothes, pack etc. then head to Claudette for a delicious get-away from the hum drum Italian, French or American farm-to-table whatever. Everything here has a deft hand from the farm fresh vegetables with innovative combinations, to the entrees to a lemon tart that was equally fluffy and light without anything oversweetend or heavy. The wicker chairs, white walls and fantastic wine list, with surprises in every category is worth a jaunt as well. Ask for the sommelier, it'll add light years to your enjoyment! We live in the neighborhood and were excited to try a new place with a good menu. The food was terrible, which is not what we wanted to find. The Humus was served in an oversized shot glass with one piece of pita (listed on the menu as house made flat bread). We were charged $18 for the humus and another $2 when we asked for another piece of pita so all 4 of our party could try the 2 Oz of humus. Things went downhill from there. The eggplant wrapped snapper was so salty it was basically inedible. The char-grilled steak was as described except tasted more of char than steak. The home made pasta with fresh herbs and butter was overcooked and saturated in plain butter - no taste, not seasoned, no herbs and no flavor. We skipped dessert.
