Diner Reviews
  • "The food was good. I love their crab cakes and the bread with sun dried tomato and olive oil dip is to die for!"

  • "Even with reservation, waited an hour for table. Hostesses need to estimate 1.5-2hr per table not the 1-1.5hr estimate they were working off - at least on a Saturday night. (People sit & chat so needs to be taken into account.) That said, manager did come by to apologize for wait with glasses of champagne to ease the time standing. Good call. The wait aside, once sat at table, the food was decent, selections interesting & service efficient & attentive. Would go back tho' not at peak hours."

  • "The service was great, the food very good, but the restaurant is small, somewhat cramped and very noisy. Nicely decorated though - just too many hard surfaces and too many people in too small a space."

  • "This is Tim McLoone's latest restaurant venture and he is doing it well. The place was packed, but even our showing up 40 minutes late for our reserveation, still got us immediate seating and good service. Prices are about right for our area and food was quite good with large portions. Wine list is moderate size with acceptable prices. Drink prices are a little high averaging $10 and specialtiies running up to $15. Try it. It's a big improvement from the last few lackluster owners."

  • "I've been to CJ's many times but apparently they just remodeled it and the place looks beautiful. The menu is still great and has some notable, new items. Food and service could not have been better."

  • "We went for Valentine's day, the place was packed and they had a nice touch for the ladies which was a Red rose, we went with the prefix menu it had good variety. Had salad, then steak spring roll, twin lobster tails and dessert all for $50.00 not bad. My wife had Salad, Shrimp cocktail, Rack of lamb and coconut flan all very nice."

  • "We made reservations for a Valentine's Day dinner at the restaurant. The food was good and the service was excellent. A rose was offered to each female, a nice touch."

  • "The menu is varied and tempting. All lunch items in our group were enjoyed; well served, plentiful, and tasty. The waiter responded to our special requests with kindness. The soups were especially luscious and satisfying. We'll definitely return."

  • "This place is small and built around an upscale tavern feel but this is not your typical tavern menu. CJ Mcloones sports many of the popular dishes from the other Mcloones restaurants in the area. We had the famous Mcloones crab cakes which were delicious and the prime rib was done perfectly. Great menu with something for everyone and also a great Kid's menu. Our son had the kids grilled steak which is perfect for a 12 year old steak lover! My teen daughter had penne vodka. Again not something you would normally expect much from at a tavern but this clearly was the Mcloones recipe and was delicious. Give it a try!"

  • "We had a very nice meal on a very busy day: New Years Eve. The lobster tails were delicious; the service was great."

  • "My friend and I had New Year's Eve dinner at CJ McLoone's prior to attending a concert. We had reservations in advance and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were seated. Obviously New Year's Eve is a very busy night for most restaurants and I could tell the place was totally sold out. We were seated immediately and had excellent service in spite of how packed the place was. Our food order was taken quickly by a server that was very attentive and friendly. Our meals were delicious and the server checked on us several times to make sure we were happy and not in need of anything. I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and CJ McLoone's hit it out of the park! We'll be back for sure."

  • "My sister and I met our cousin for lunch over the holidays. We had a great time catching up on family news. We weren't rushed at all. The service was fine, the food was good and we had a delightful afternoon."

  • "Excellent food and service - the idea of the free champagne with the pre fixe dinner was great although I would have preferred auvh dryer champagne."

  • "It was New Years Eve but we went just for an early dinner. We were seated right away thanks to the reservation. Food was good but a much smaller menu than usual. Server seemed preoccupied so service was fair . Crab-corn chowder was fantastic. Tuna bites awesome. We were happy overall and will be back."

  • "Casual, comfortable local restaurant. Been here a few times, bartenders aren't too friendly or welcoming which is a turnoff but most of the wait staff is nice. Food is good and it's nice to have another local option."

  • "I've eaten here many times and the food is always good not great but for some reason I keep coming back. This time the food was still good (love the bread and tomato/oil they give you) but the service was so poor it made the whole dining experience disappointing. I'll think twice before returning."

  • "We were seated right away thanks to our Open Table reservation even though there was a wait. I think the only problem we had was it seemed a bit cramped. My husband was bumped into several times by the wait staff. Food was great. Angry shrimp was certainly angry. Service, Paul, was very attentive but not intrusive. We will be back."

  • "Restaurant exudes a feeling of warmth, beautifully decorated. Seating was a little tight for a group of 7. Everyone loved their dinners. Fried artichokes were excellent!"

  • "Nice spread with lots of choices, culminating in Prime Rib. One Mimosa drink per adult. Starting with raw bar and crudité. Cheeses and salads. Breakfast items (e.g., stuffed French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries), Entrees (e.g., Chicken Francaise, Pepper Steak, rice pilaf, potatoes). Then to custom-made omelets with your choices of fixins (e.g., mushrooms, peppers, onions, parsley, tomatoes, etc.). Or have fresh waffles made the way you like. Then a fruit platter. Also pastries, including Danish, croissants, etc. Coffee as you like, tea, etc. Attentive staff - eager to please. A pleasant way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon and spend some time partaking in a feast. You will definitely enjoy this Brunch."

  • "Since taking over this going concern last year the McLoone organization has been trying to bring more consistancy to what,in my experience, was a spotty experience. The eclectic menu was more Pub fare than a white tablecloth establishment represented in the main dinning room.I detected frozen entrees being used which was confirmed by the corporate food manager. That appears to have changed and last weekend's dinning was overall very good. The menu has been updated as has the wine list. Hopefully, they will keep up the good work and we will keep going back."

  • "The Sunday brunch was great. They cooked the prime rib medium rare which is much better than one that's been sitting out like most brunches."
