Diner Reviews
  • "It's a rather nice place, great location. Only gripe isn't much of a gripe, the reservation I made only applied to indoor seating, all outdoor seating was first come, first serve."

  • "Went there for a Saturday brunch.left there a believer.loved everything. Especially the bread pudding, had to order another to go."

  • "Great beer and food are enough to go to the City Tap House. The service and wood fire pizzas make it a must for anyone in the mood for a great meal in University City. Plenty of fun to have watching people is you sit in the bar area. Hang with your friends out by the firepits at night on their deck."

  • "This restaurant is awesome. The outside rooftop patio is fantastic and their food is delicious. I'm a huge beer nerd and their beer selection is fantastic as well. It was pretty loud and crazy because the Erin Express was going on, but on a normal day I'm sure it would've been fine. Great restaurant!"

  • "I was very excited to bring a customer to a restaurant that boats such an extensive beer list. Sadly, the 4 beers we wanted were kicked."

  • "I took my brother and two adult children to the Tap House for dinner. We had the wings which were great and quite unique. I had the ribs and my brother had the pork and broccoli rabe calzone. The food was very good! Our server was very attentive without hanging around. All in all a good experience, and I will certainly go back. Thanks guys, nice job!"

  • "I have been here a few times, and I never was disappointed. Loved their lamb burger, and the craft beer selection was fantastic. Our server was absolutely great as well!"

  • "We had 5 propel in are group and everyone enjoyed their meal. The mussels were good but VERY heavy on the garlic. The corn crab fritters were reason enough to eat here! Good for burgers or a big steak."

  • "I planned an outing for a group of teachers. We arrived at different times and in the beginning our waiter was very attentive with our drink orders. However once we started talking and taking a while to decide our order. We began to wait in 15 minute intervals before we saw our waiter. This may seem like not that long of a time. But for teachers whom last time ate at 12 and now it's 7..WE WERE HUNGRY! Anyway when our food finally did come it was amazing. I had the chicken and waffles. I loved the red tomato sauce for the chicken and syrup for the waffles. It went well together. I didn't like the waffles bc they were soggy with the sauce on the bottom. Overall we enjoyed ourselves we didn't like the wait time. Check it out."

  • "i found this restaurant online when looking for venues for a nice quiet dinner for my birthday. While I enjoyed the ambience and everything, I felt that it wasn't quite the level of sophistication I was looking for. However, I would definitely go back there again!!"

  • "Great selection of beers and lots of great menu items to chose from. Can see how this place would be a great spot to eat and drink. Unfortunately I think we came at an off time between lunch and dinner and the food execution was a but off. One of the pizzas ordered was undercooked and the ribs felt a bit like they were sitting for a long time and reheated. Service was attentive and atmosphere was very comfortable. Would give another chance."

  • "This is a great place to meet folks and enjoy great food and good beer. Big energy, which makes it noisy but it has great energy. Highly recommended. Great service!"

  • "This place was amazing. I can be picky but wouldn't change a think about this place - the waiter was so nice and knowledgeable, the beer list was spot on, the food (we got the honey goat cheese pizza, mussels, pork nachos and chicken & waffles) and everything was amazing. The ingredients were fresh, the food was delicious and the service was great! Can't wait to go back!"

  • "This place has a very relaxed feel and a good atmosphere. Over 50 beers on tap, what else could you ask for? Food was good and service was pretty good as well. I would definitely recommend it."

  • "Although a bit hard to see from the street, once inside the bar is large & inviting. There is a big balcony with fire pits - fun in the city. The beer menu is extensive & we both enjoyed what we ordered. They were very nice to our kids & the dining area had a hip feel to it. Service was quick for ordering and apps. It lagged a bit for the main course. We liked everything we ordered. I really enjoyed the Pastrami Sliders. The special soup was Pumpkin with Sausage and Pastini. It was hearty and delicious - perfect for the weather. Our mussels Abigail were good, but the broth could've had a bit more flavor. The ribs fell off the bone & the fries were excellent. We even ran into friends, which made the experience better. We will go back again!"

  • "The service was slow despite the fact that it was not crowed at all for lunch. The meals were very goos except for the shrimp & grits which was mediocre at best..should have ordered a sandwich like everyone else"

  • "My first impression of City Tap house was great. The restaraunt is huge and beautifully designed with a large outdoor 2nd floor deck and fabulous fire pits. It was really one of the first cool evenings in the city and the fire pits are an excellent way to be able to enjoy the outdoors. Our food was great. There were four of us dining this evening. They were out of Stella on tap for one of my friends and also out of top shelf Tequila for me which was a bummer. The servers were great looking and friendly and it seemed like there were a lot of people working but for some reason, things kept taking longer than expected so I have to give the service a 4 instead of 5 star rating. I will definitely be back."

  • "We stopped by the City Tap House on a Sunday evening for dinner. It was not crowded at all,but it took the hostess a little longer than I expected to set us. We did request outside seating since it was a beautiful summer evening. The setting aws very enjoyable. The food was delicious. As a tap house, you would expect quite a selection. City Tap House did not disappoint. We tried the flight, a variety of beers for $10, just right. Overal, a very nice evening."
