I researched a lot of restaurants in the area because I wanted to try somewhere new. For the money I spent ($70 for two beers, shared appetizer and entree), I was very disappointed. I have had much better steaks and appetizers at Outback for half the price. I had the Ribeye, which was barely seared and it was quite fatty. The duck fat fries and truffle mashpotatoes were good. We got the ten spice wings for an appetizer and they were OK (crispy, but not very flavorful). The service and atmosphere were decent. I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't that good. I will probably never go back as there are several good restaurants that I know about and many others I would like to try.

We ate at this restaurant over the weekend and it was our first visit there. Our appetizer was a mezze of hummus, tzazaki and a tomato tapenade served with pita wedges and it was plenty for my husband and I to share. He is a big wood fired oven pizza guy and he did enjoy the pizza he had. I had the pork dinner and it was very good, it has a very nice medley of flavors. They have a pretty extensive craft beer selection and my husband was impressed with it. They do range in price with some of the selections pretty pricey ( one sounded very interesting ,but, it was $60.00) ,but, there are plenty in a more reasonable price range. We both liked the rustic interior. I would definitely recommend eating here!

A really incredible evening. We sat at one of the high table's by the bar where it was quiet enough to talk, but where we felt part of a vibrant and exciting bar scene. Mixed with excellent wine and beer, the food was of a very high quality. We started with a wonderful cheese appetizer to share, and then I had the Tuna Salad which was light, filling, and perfectly spiced with an incredible rare piece of tuna, seared perfectly. My guest had the duck special which she said was superb. All in all, a wonderful, relaxed and fun evening.

After an all day adventure at the National Book Festival, we were looking for a restaurant close by the convention center before heading back to Baltimore. The food at the convention center was limited and very crowded with many items sold out. Fortunatel, we were able to find the Tap House and make a resercation during the afternnon. Service and food fulfilled our desire to eat some good food nearby. Great choice!

My husband and I went for brunch on a Saturday morning at 11 am. We got seated right away, and our server kept the bottomless mimosas coming! They were delicious; just the right blend of champagne and OJ. He also made great beer recommendations for my husband. We shared the skillet cornbread, which was soooo good! I would go back just for the cornbread! We really enjoyed our other food as well. We had a friend come join halfway through our meal, and our server was very accommodating to her, offering her the bottomless mimosa deal as well, even though she wasn't eating. The decor and ambiance is great. We will definitely return for brunch :)

Unfortunately, being on a business lunch, we weren't able to take advantage of the great selection of brews. Nevertheless, it was a great location for this purpose. Tables are spaced apart generously enough where you could conduct business without sharing others' conversations. Service was attentive yet not intrusive.

  • Not wheelchair accessible
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

This is a new restaurant, required by law to be accessible to people with disabilities. I called ahead to ask about the wheelchair accessible entrance. I could not find it because it was hidden in the back through the kitchen. The path was narrowed by kitchen supplies. I asked the management to move the supplies before my friend arrived because there was no way a wheelchair could fit. They didn't move the supplies and instead told my friend to squeeze through. My other friend, who is blind, had a hard time navigating to the bathroom because there was not a clear path through the tables. Part of the restaurant is raised and inaccessible. We were disappointed.

These things are delicious! With or without the accompanying butter there is a sauce that goes along with it, so they are fantastic either way. You get 5 on a plate and they are easy to share. Or you can hoard them for yourself (which I highly recommend!). They have a great variety of beer options as well that you really have to tap into! :) ENJOY! I know you will.

The beer list was great. Lots of draft beers. The service was a little slow even though we were there early on a Saturday evening. The manager came by to see how everything was going. The noise level was good enough that we could sit and chat without yelling at each other. I'd go back for a fun evening.

We were from out of town looking for a quick dinner and I found the tap house on open table. To our surprise the food was really good and the service was great too. The manager ..I think his name was Pete ..was really great he greeted us when we got there and when we had a little mix up with our food he went straight to the kitchen himself and had it corrected immediately. I would definitely recommend it and the mussels are awesome!

Service was slow, water was poured into a clear vodka drink, 2 of 3 orders were not done as requested and then one of them was double-charged (for the replacement) although we pointed that out and, to the managers credit, both the original charge and the second charge were credited. We live right around the corner and had heard great things and were looking forward to enjoying the meal and potentially have a new "fav" place since we just moved. But we won't be back.

Went to City Tap House for the first time with two friends for brunch, could not have been more pleased with our experience. We did the make your own bloody mary bar, and all ordered an entree. The chicken and waffles were fantastic, as were our flatbread and quiche. Our waitress was great, and the general manager also stopped by for a chat and offered us a free desert. High energy and good music, the place itself is very well done. The inside is modern yet rustic, new but still very welcoming. Delicious food, friendly staff, and not too pricey- about time we had something like this in DC. Will be back again for sure!

Came here on a Sunday morning after a long Saturday night. They immediately plied me with coffee (thankfully). The brunch was the perfect fix for my hangover blues; the Big Chick was enough food for two meals, and the cheese grits tasted just like home. Mid-way through our lunch, the General Manager came to our table. He was friendly and excited to hear that we discovered the place through Yelp. So excited, in fact, that he gave us a molten chocolate cake on the house. Needless to say, I'll be bringing my hungover self here again really soon.

Options were limited for a Sunday night late meal but the food was good. Service (considering how slow it was inside) was subpar and if your aren't a beer drinker you may as well drink water. Soda and lemonade were terrible. The venue seemed like it would be cool for sports viewing but the prices for what you get may deter me from visiting again.

It was also nice to have the general manager come by and greet us and give us free cornbread! I had the biscuits and gravy which were very good - and a nice size portion. Most of the table got the $18 bottomless drinks and the waiter did a good job keeping glasses full. Try the beermosa!

I came here to celebrate my 24th birthday with a big group of friends. I was hesitant because I wanted to do something a little more fancy than a tap house for my special day. I work in the hospitality industry and was absolutely blown away when the hostess actually smiled and was friendly and not stressed or overwhelmed with a party of 10. She took us right away and sat us at a nice large table. The ambiance was cool yet casual…just what I was looking for. Our server, Peter, was fantastic and knowledgable on menu items and beer list. We ordered a bottle of prosecco and the general manager personally came over to wish me a happy birthday and brought us a complimentary bottle of prosecco. Our group of 7 met at City Tap House for lunch. We were seated promptly and service was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was not crowded, so noise was not a big issue, except when one of the teams playing in the World Cup of Soccer scored. The menu was a bit short on salads of interest, but the sandwich selection was good and most of the group ordered sandwiches. No complaints. The Tap House was a suitable place to gather and we enjoyed the outing.
