Great beer selection. Nice ambiance and service. The food menu attempts to distinguish itself from standard tavern/pub fare but misses. Limited menu choices (some odd such as oxtail) and food lacking flavor and taste (example: French dip sandwich).

This was a great spot for a good dinner. Our only complaint was that they were having trouble with their draft lines and the beer selection was limited. The beers we did have were great!

I received a voice-mail asking me to confirm my reservation. I called and was put on hold for 10 minutes. When they got back on the line, they told me they had no reservations available. I explained again that I was calling to confirm a reservation and I was told yet again that they had no openings and then they hung up on me. Went to dinner there anyway for our 6:30 reservation. At 6:20, while I was awaiting the rest of my party at the bar, I got a call from the hostess. I walked up to her and told her that she was calling me. She yelled at me that she was on the phone, I pointed out that she was on the phone with ME. She asked if I was coming there for dinner. I pointed out that I was there and awaiting 1 person. Food was mediocre.

Have been here four times—the food has been consistently great (and varied—you can get a $13 pizza, salad, or burger, or a $30 entree, depending on how you're feeling. The service is what has varied. Our server was disorganized and forgetful on the first trip. (When we went inside to inquire about where our server was after an hour of waiting, however, good to note they comped our food since it had been forgotten. So, great service by very kind mgmt!) Now, three visits later, and I got some of the best service I've ever had in DC this week from our server(Peter). So, perhaps that's getting better as the place finds its groove. Would definitely recommend for the nice ambiance. The bar is BUSY in the evenings, even during the week.

I first went to City Tap House for a work happy hour and was very impressed by their beer selection, the atmosphere, and the appetizers that we had so I decided to come back for an actual meal. I've been here 4 times now since the first time, two for dinner one for drinks and one for brunch. Their dinner menu is very good and I would recommend the short rib sandwich with duck fat fried fries. Brunch was also pretty good and their bottomless mimosa/bloody Mary option is worth it if you like to drink. The service was great all the times I went. I would recommend making a reservation if you are going to dinner after work and if you are going to sit at the bar for happy hour or to watch a game I recommend you get their early.

Easy online reservation set up. Immediate warm greeting at entrance. Thank you, Peter, for extraordinary wait staff service. These 2 Alaskans who are fish picky to Nth degree shared 2 seafood dishes. Spectacular both. Nice and healthy foodie flavor amendments and veggies on each. Wonderful dessert to celebrate our wedding. Hard to choose a craft beer from very interesting choices, and Peter's description turned the tide. Loved the Shandy and able to head out for eve of museums. Appreciated that manager came by to give his personal greetings. Thx, Pearson!

We have eaten at City Tap House several times in the last two months. The beer selection is phenomenal. The food and service are consistently great. This is my second time going to City Tap House - my first experience was great. This time not so much - I'm not sure if it was an off night for the chefs or that my server just did not care. He was never around and our food came out cold. We couldn't even find him to let him know. I'm not completely counting out City Tap House as a play to go but I will never sit in the section of that server again.

First time here. Lots of people but then again there were MLB playoff games and the Caps were playing but my guess is this place is a popular place for the after work crowd. Nice open space and lively. Wait staff was either undermanned or just not very attentive. Think I got my food before my first drink which wasn't ideal. If they can get the service straightened out, I might bump my overall rating up a notch.

I researched a lot of restaurants in the area because I wanted to try somewhere new. For the money I spent ($70 for two beers, shared appetizer and entree), I was very disappointed. I have had much better steaks and appetizers at Outback for half the price. I had the Ribeye, which was barely seared and it was quite fatty. The duck fat fries and truffle mashpotatoes were good. We got the ten spice wings for an appetizer and they were OK (crispy, but not very flavorful). The service and atmosphere were decent. I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't that good. I will probably never go back as there are several good restaurants that I know about and many others I would like to try.

We ate at this restaurant over the weekend and it was our first visit there. Our appetizer was a mezze of hummus, tzazaki and a tomato tapenade served with pita wedges and it was plenty for my husband and I to share. He is a big wood fired oven pizza guy and he did enjoy the pizza he had. I had the pork dinner and it was very good, it has a very nice medley of flavors. They have a pretty extensive craft beer selection and my husband was impressed with it. They do range in price with some of the selections pretty pricey ( one sounded very interesting ,but, it was $60.00) ,but, there are plenty in a more reasonable price range. We both liked the rustic interior. I would definitely recommend eating here!

A really incredible evening. We sat at one of the high table's by the bar where it was quiet enough to talk, but where we felt part of a vibrant and exciting bar scene. Mixed with excellent wine and beer, the food was of a very high quality. We started with a wonderful cheese appetizer to share, and then I had the Tuna Salad which was light, filling, and perfectly spiced with an incredible rare piece of tuna, seared perfectly. My guest had the duck special which she said was superb. All in all, a wonderful, relaxed and fun evening.

My husband and I went for brunch on a Saturday morning at 11 am. We got seated right away, and our server kept the bottomless mimosas coming! They were delicious; just the right blend of champagne and OJ. He also made great beer recommendations for my husband. We shared the skillet cornbread, which was soooo good! I would go back just for the cornbread! We really enjoyed our other food as well. We had a friend come join halfway through our meal, and our server was very accommodating to her, offering her the bottomless mimosa deal as well, even though she wasn't eating. The decor and ambiance is great. We will definitely return for brunch :)

This is a new restaurant, required by law to be accessible to people with disabilities. I called ahead to ask about the wheelchair accessible entrance. I could not find it because it was hidden in the back through the kitchen. The path was narrowed by kitchen supplies. I asked the management to move the supplies before my friend arrived because there was no way a wheelchair could fit. They didn't move the supplies and instead told my friend to squeeze through. My other friend, who is blind, had a hard time navigating to the bathroom because there was not a clear path through the tables. Part of the restaurant is raised and inaccessible. We were disappointed.
