Everything was wonderful...Food, service, perfect for spending an evening with friends. My only comment is there everything seemed a bit overpriced. The entrees each could have been a few dollars cheaper. Just under $30.00 for an entree is a bit pricy. Perhaps one of the reasons why there were few tables occupied.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, romantic atmosphereMy husband and I had dinner at City Table last Thursday night, having made reservations after seeing great reviews on Tripadvisor. The reviews were well deserved...the food was excellent! The appetizer we ordered -- gouda filled pork meatballs -- was delicious. I had a spring risotto that was lovely and flavorful, and my husband had a pasta dish that was also great. We ran into friends who were dining there that night who said they go every Thursday night after working out at a nearby gym; they love the food and said the service is warm, friendly, and attentive. That was our experience too. A lovely evening and we would definitely go again next time we're in Boston.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in Boston!After the hustle and bustle of the Prudential Mall and Copley Place filled with convention goers, finding City Table was a welcome relief from the crowds. We made our reservation for an early dinner and were accommodated when we were running late and then seated promptly. The service was attentive and the wait staff was friendly and helpful -- none of the lag that can happen when a restaurant is slow.
All our meals were well prepared and beautifully plated. We were all very happy with our selections and sorry that we didn't have the time (or the room in our tummies) to check out the dessert menu.
City Table is on my list for a return trip to Boston and I will be recommending it to friends.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday DinnerWe had my husband's birthday dinner here. Everything was outstanding. The server was attentive, but kept assuring us that we didn't need to rush. My husband and I had the tuna which was cooked perfectly. We also had the crab dip and lobster soup which were both delicious. They were very understanding when we were running late due to traffic. I would definitely return.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AM"Michael" literally read the"Michael" literally read the menu to me over the phone b/c we were running so late we knew the kitchen would close before we arrived... we had an amazing meal a little after 11pm, basically waiting for us... wonderful waitress and bartender... delectable entries ...cod over corn chowder, unique beet and goat cheese salad & i swear the croutons were made with marzipan, though i forgot to ask), perfectly cooked med-rare burger, and a scrumptuous lobster roll.. and the homemade chips arrived almost as soon as we sat down, as promised... desserts were equally impressive... we've stayed at the Lenox before and have only had breakfast, or late night drinks... but we'll be back to City Table for this kind of dinner!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, a bit busy and rushedOverall, the food was pretty good. The soups were excellent, the gnocci a bit chewy. Service was very, very attentive, but we felt a bit rushed through our meal (the restaurant is small and was very busy). The atmosphere is fun and the service is so friendly and professional, even the clientele are friendly. Lots of locals and tourists that are staying at The Lenox. Drinks are priced right and a good pour. A variety of menu items from casual to high end, All of which are great.
