City LandingGreat Food and ServiceWe were constantly reminded how good the service was; we were allowed to take our time and food arrived, always, right on time. The kitchen was flexible and our waiter always had suggestions for food, wine or desert. We would return in a heartbeat.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Gluten Free DinersThe menu really had many choices for GF diners. They can order a full complement of a starter, main course and dessert from the GF menu. Our entire meal was excellent for GF and regular members.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food in comfy settingWe had delicious meals here - the mini lobster roll appetizers a particular favorite, and scallops with mini ravioli incredibly tasty, but everyone in our party of 5 was happy. Service very well informed and attentive. In spite of all the glass, the room is not noisy - even on a Saturday night. Only small negative was draft beer not working that night. Overall highly recommend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAdd this to your favorites list....Fine food, expertly (but pleasantly) served, in a not-too-noisy setting on Boston's waterfront. Special kudos for their attention to detail, creative kids menu, and wonderful vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus in addition to the well balanced and delicious
'regular' menu.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat downtown dining!City Landing is a relative newcomer on the Boston restaurant scene, and it's a delight! We live in New Hampshire, and we love the accessibility of the restaurant--very easy access from I-93--so we have the pleasure of dining in the city without having to fight traffic, etc. to get there. The staff is incredibly warm, welcoming and accommodating and the food is a delight--inventive, flavorful and beautifully presented. City Landing has become a new favorite!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOur New FavoriteWe tried this restaurant after seeing it listed in the Globe's "Munch Madness." The Globe review was just ok but we tried it anyway and were blown away. The cocktails were fabulous, as were the mini-lobster rolls and spreads. The bread was great but would avoid it- there is simply too much food! My husband had a steak and I had scallops- both were excellent. We were too full for dessert but our spectacular waiter offered us a free treat. The service was excellent- our waiter was just the right amount of chatty, never interupting but always willing to engage in conversation. We felt that we had the table all night if we wanted it. We will be back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent choice on waterfrontCame here with a large group. Everyone enjoyed their meal especially the seafood dishes. Desserts were generous and shareable- the espresso sundae was amazing. I was disappointed w the lamb bolognaise though; it was much too salty. The ambiance was great and setting is contemporary.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBack for a second time in a month..After my first visit, I knew I wanted to come back to try other items on the menu. I enjoyed the grilled scallops very much! My table ordered the trio of spreads which was delicious and plenty for 3 to share. Service is super friendly. You won't be disappointed.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal. Wonderful service.I picked this restaurant because it had an extensive gluten free menu. One of the diners has celiac disease and she is very picky about where and what she will eat. She was impressed! The standard menu was also very nice and everything we had was delicious. Try the toy box tomato salad...really good! The staff was excellent. When I book on open table I often write a note with a special request. Not every restaurant deals with these as nicely as City Landing, mentioning them in the reservation call and then following through when we arrived. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. You could tell he loved his job and it directly impacted e service. I highly recommend this restaurant.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were big fans of Sel deWe were big fans of Sel de la Terre at this location and weren't sure what to expect when City Landing came in it's place...we've now been numerous times--lunch, brunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. William and the staff always go out of their way to make us feel like VIP clients...food is fabulous, menu changes seasonally, servers and bar staff are very attentive. We would highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't already.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was almostThe restaurant was almost empty when we arrived for an early dinner at 530pm after seeing a matinee in the theater district. It was just 6 days after the Marathon bombing, and the vibe in the city was both palpable and exhuberant.
Our server was excellent, made several recommendations, all good ones. From the elegant appetizer dumpling to the fresh, tasty sea bass, top notch all the way. Highly recommend this gem, so close to the Aquarium, right on Atlantic Ave.
By the time we left the place was filling up, no surprise.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed everything! PearfectionWe enjoyed everything! Pearfection cocktail was delicious, appetizers of octupus and raw seafood was outstanding, we had scallops and blondie sundae for dessert, service was wonderful as well!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I have wantedMy wife and I have wanted to try this restaurant for a while. She picked me up at the airport coming in from a business trip and we arrived about 30 minutes prior to our reservation. No problem! Food was great. Very much enjoyed it. As we were finishing up, the rush was starting to come in for the night. Would definitely go back again!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCity Landing provides a thoroughlyCity Landing provides a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Service is friendly, courteous, and efficient; outstanding is the correct word to describe it. The room is lovely, the food is very fine, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it highly.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Sunday BrunchI went with a group of 6 people, they were very accommodating and attentive. Sometimes bigger parties can get lost in the shuffle but here, just the opposite. In fact we were seated right in the middle of the restaurant. Brunch was fantastic. The Elderberry champagne cocktail was perfect. I had the steak tar tar for an appetizer, which was also perfect. Others in my group were jealous and also followed my order with their own tar tar. For the main course I had the smoked salmon and it was very tasty. They let us linger a bit and we savored our several bottles of Moet. I would highly recommend this place for Sunday Brunch. I will most certainly be coming back to try them for dinner.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA great discovery. We'll be back. This was my first visit. Went looking for a place to take a colleague for a birthday lunch and wanted something nice yet not too fancy. City Table did not disappoint. The renovated space (formerly Sel de la Terre) is open and airy. The menu is familiar enough (caesar with choice of protein, burger) but with some fun twists (shrimp and grits, flounder). And the service, from the host to the wait staff, was spot-on. All three of us loved our meals and said we'd be back. A great addition to the neighborhood.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSo Good!!City Landind is a great place!! The food is outstanding....I had the mini lobster rolls, the deconstructed chicken pot pie and the coconut creme pie which were all divine. The service was impeccable. The sound level was low around 7pm but got higher as the night rolled on. Parking is expensive at the nearby garage so try to park near Faneuil hall and walk.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMEven though it is outsideEven though it is outside our neighborhood and requires a long walk or shuttle boat ride...it is fast becoming one of our favorite places to eat dinner...lunch...or just stop for a drink at the bar. The food always pleases and the service is consistently good. AND the GM always finds time to check to if everything is right.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was amazing. IThe service was amazing. I have food allergies and they were very helpful in adjusting my menue options to suit my needs.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMlunchtime sanctuary on Long WharfI very much enjoyed my first visit to City Landing. Will go again.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent cocktails and deliciousExcellent cocktails and delicious food. Don't miss the lobster roll appetizer.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe chopped salad was theThe chopped salad was the best composed chopped salad I've ever had in Boston: very well put together, even the shrimp sliced so that it was easy to mix in, a very good dressing, presented attractively in a bowl large enough that the diner could mix it without spilling it out (something few other restaurants seem to think about). The seafood tacos were excellent sea bass and wonderfully spiced and sauced.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Amazing; just plain amazing. The menu was great, every dish we ordered looked unique and likewise to taste. Absolute treat.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely loved City Landing.Absolutely loved City Landing. They have done an outstanding job with the room. A great city dining experience. Food was fantastic. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. I can't be more enthusiastic in my recommendation!3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGluten-Free Dream! We had a very nice meal at City Landing on Tuesday night. We have a relative with Celiac who was graciously accomodated by the staff. They provided gluten-free bread and were very understanding with her requests, something that is typically hard to find. The rest of us had very good meals and our server was quite the character. We will certainly be back, especially when our gluten-free aunt is with us!2/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe wnt on Christmas Eve forWe wnt on Christmas Eve for an early dinner and were extremely pleased with the menu, the specials, the quality of food, and the service.
