  • "For a combination business/fun evening, I chose City Fire becaus of its ambiance, food, and location. The purpose of the evening was to introduce business associates. The staff were very accommodating and the evening was a success. Noise level was good and food was delicious. We had a new waitress who was a tad slow; other than that, everything was perfect, and I'm sure she will be a great server once she is more familiar."

  • "Good service but bland food and unremarkable. Boring. If that's your thing, then by all means...."

  • "We were able to get a table right away (which kind of scared us on a Saturday night). The food was very good but probably not good for you.our server was ok. Just didn't seem to care as much as other servers I've had at similar restaurants."

  • "Dined on Sat night and found the restaurant about half full, however upon leaving the place was near full. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, tasteful decor and friendly hostess. We were promptly seated, drinks ordered and the morel mushroom baguette app ordered. The app was tasty, but button mushrooms appeared to be used instead of the morels. Parmesan crusted grouper and shrimp and grits were the entrees ordered. They were well prepared and reasonably priced. Chocolate creme brûlée was the desert of choice and was fabulous. No cappuccino, disappointing. Probably would return, good service as well."

  • "We tried this restaurant because it was highly rated and near Station Inn, our later destination. The h'ors d'ouvres wewe fantastic, especially ahi tuna, avocado, mango. Scallops entree was divine. The restaurant was not even half full. Hope more people try it. Barbara"

  • "A nice addition to a list of "regulars". Plenty of choices on the menu, particularly good "small bites"."

  • "We had a group of 10, and we all enjoyed the food! Definitely recommend the flatbread as an appetizer! The service was also great. Neat atmosphere and an overall great experience. The wait time was quick on both the appetizers and entrees. The chocolate bread pudding with ice cream on top was the dessert favorite. Go visit City Fire!"

  • "excellent service by our waiter --fair service by his support --shrimp appetizer was great as was jerk chicken and the filet --liked the spinach and onion--a bit noisy with 5 different bachelorette parties"

  • "I went on a Sunday night and the area City Fire was located in ("The Gulch") was really quiet versus the prior two nights on the weekend. So I think this was not their typical crowd (or lack thereof?). The food was pretty good, including dessert (marshmallow creme brûlée). The sangria was really good! The server was very helpful. I would say the menu wasn't as vast as I thought it might be, but the food was still pretty good."

  • "The food was great! Bacon lovers will like this place; they successfully incorporated bacon into most of the dishes we ordered. Specialty cocktail menu was small, but what they did have on the menu was very refreshing. Seafood bisque was amazing! And the desserts were to die for! Only 4 options for dessert and we tried 2 of them... Chocolate pudding and marshmallow crime brûlée... Amazing!! My taste buds are still singing!"

  • "Tried City Fire for the first time on a Saturday evening date. Atmosphere was pleasant, service was good. Had the jerk chicken and it was outstanding. Will go back."

  • "This was a very good restaurant. The food was excellent and came out very timely. The service was very prompt and friendly. The wine list was limited which was a little disappointing and there were very few people there but it was a Wednesday night. If they continue to work on service I think this can be one of the better restaurants in Nashville."

  • "It was our first time eating at a restaurant in the newly transformed Gulch. I had read some reviews on City Fire, they were all very positive. We made reservations for 6:00p.m. on a Wednesday, when we got there, they restaurant was practically empty. Our waitress was very entertaining, kind of like a clean mouthed Max from the tv show Two Broke Girls. She was a beer fanatic, having us sample some local beers that the restaurant carried. We ordered the Shrimp and Crab Nachos, for a $13 appetizer we expected to see more than 8 individual nachos, but they were very very good. We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf and Crab Cakes for our dinner entrees, both were very good."

  • "The food was fantastic! A real surprise. I've gone through most of the restaurants in the downtown area and this one ranks right up there at the top. Take advantage of this place while it is still a quiet gem because once City Fire, catches on, getting a seat will be next to impossible!"

  • "I have been to City Fire twice. The first time was to celebrate out daughter's graduation with our family. There were 16 of us and the service and food were awesome. The second time it was just me and my husband. The food was great again as was the service."

  • "The food was very good. The location and ambience is very good as well. Our Server started out excellent and as the night progressed he became spread too thin and neglected the guests in his charge. I believe they were short handed, however the Manager should not have let the problem continue as long as he did. Even with this issue, we will be back to try it again. The menu had lots of variety. We had drinks and several "lite bites"; they were very good. The sandwich menu looked great and I plan to stop by for lunch. The dinner menu looked wonderful; if the next visit goes well, we will be back for dinner."

  • "I have been wanting to go to City Fire for months now and was finally able to go! It has some of the best happy hour deals in the city. Three dollar house wines and $6 select apps? You can't go wrong! The maui flat is out of this world. Read what else I liked on my blog post about City Fire: http://forkfuloflife.com/2014/06/20/city-fire/"

  • "Restaurants in the Gulch are usually very good, but they know it and are proud of it - i.e. rather pricey. City-Fire is a newcomer to the scene and to stand out has to be exceptional. Well, they stand out! We went there for Father's day dinner and started with a Modern Fashioned - a twist on the Old Fashioned cocktail and served as a martini. First course was a scrumptious Ahi Tartare with ample tuna and avocado and crispy won ton chips. My main course was scallops and corn succotash in a cream sauce. My wife had some delicious fish tacos with a spicy cole slaw - very refreshing. Kids had French Dips. I am usually pretty hard to please when I am paying hard earned cash for a meal, but have to say, I was by City-Fire."

  • "The menu was limited and odd. The tuna tartar was fine. The onion soup was wierd. Way too salty, provolone slices?! The service was inexperienced. The restaurant was empty. No valet parking."

  • "Good menu but either sandwiches or large, fancy entrees- no middle of the range plates. Great wine and drink menu and good desserts. Overall happy with experience just felt like it hadn't "made" the scene yet."

  • "The menu had good choices and the food was good, not the best I have ever eaten, but very good. The prices were very reasonable and that was a huge plus!! Our server was very accommodating and prompt and we got a table without waiting. We will go back."

  • "I took a group of out-of-town guests to City Fire and we had a great meal. They had a selection of menu items with something for everyone. We were there on a Monday night as it was quiet, which was great for a large group. The staff was excellent and they accommodated all of the requests of the group."

  • "I have never eaten here before but the area is a hot spot in town so we tried it. We had a late dinner and we basically had the place to ourselves. The waiter explained the menu in great detail and was attentive to us all night. I had the shrimp and grits...DELICIOUS!! I would definitely come again. "

  • "Found this place on short notice and booked a 10:00 table. Per info on Open Table, we parked beneath The Icon. The restaurant validates, making parking a non-worry. The place is very new, and we were the last possible seating, so it was sparsely populated. Though we were coming in at close, the staff was welcoming and attentive. For apps., we had the shrimp and the margherita flat... Both delicious and LARGE. On to mains: filet and crab cakes. Filet outperformed more expensive competitors and the crab cakes were rich and again... LARGE. Wine throughout and then split the chocolate bread pudding for dessert which was a fitting and victorious finish. We waddled out happy and plan to return. Show some support for this new place!"

  • "We showed up at 8 on a Saturday and the place was deserted. The food was average and the service was ok. The shrimp appetizer seemed like a bland afterthought. Shrimp and grits was good but the pasta sauce on our other dish tasted like it was out of a jar. Caesar salad was not good - also bland and tasted like a packaged dressing. Got sat next to the restrooms even though the place was empty. Likely will not be back with all of the other options in the area."
