  • "The place is great looking and the food is tops. Some of the waiters should learn how to take a food order and make sure all the guests are served at the same time. And all orders are correct..."

  • "noise level is a bit high... food was good. all enjoyed... kitchen forgot to make one of our appetizers, my sauteed brussel sprouts were not sauteed enough, a bit hard. Mussels were very good."

  • " I can always count on having a good time and a good meal here at City Cellar. I've here several times now and I haven't been disappointed. I like it for date night. It has a trendy feel and the menu is atypical, but there's always something on it that I'm willing to try."

  • "The food is great! On the expensive side. Price Fixe three course dinners before six thirty. Most days there are drink and food specials."

  • "Great sunset menus. Well prepared food and very nice service will keep diners coming back. If you go early you can still have a conversation at your table."

  • "We took advantage of City Cellar's Sunset Menu this past Saturday. We enjoy all of the entrees at the restaurant but the Sunset Menu (from 4 to 6;30) is a great deal. For $25 they offer a 3 course prix fix menu. The portions are large and the service and food quality is always great. I recommend City Cellar highly."

  • "Can't be beat for reliability when it comes to good food, sizeable portions and overall quality! Always look forward to coming here! Especially happy with the Wine down Mondays - we had a $117 bottle of wine for half price!"

  • "Our experience at the restaurant was great. We had a really nice waiter (Peter) and he was knowledgeable and friendly. He consistently made sure we were happy with what we ordered and made sure we had whatever we wanted. It was a nice experience since this was our first time dining there."

My boyfriend had a good time and love the food and the ambiance. I will come again. This was my second time there and I'm still happy. I will recommend this restaurant."

  • "If it were not for the bathroom, I would have given you 5 Stars. My daughter in law took her 10 year old daughter to the bathroom, she spent 15 minutes cleaning the toilet and the floor around the toilet so that her daughter could use it. she also had to clean the sink and the faucets so they could wash their hands. My wife also informed me that the bathroom was worse than a McDonald's or the bathroom in the Subways (trains). This is unacceptable . You're not a fast food restaurant, nor are you a department store. An expensive place, where you rent rooms for special occasions, should have clean and neat bathrooms, cleaned, or at least checked by an attendant every hour. The condition of the bathroom, either makes or breaks a business."

  • "We surprised our friend with a retirement dinner at City Cellar. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and we loved the ambiance. There have been big changes since the last time we were there, and the changes are all for the good. We had stayed away for almost a year because of the rude treatment we got last time. We were all pleasantly surprised."

  • "We go here 3 to 6 times a year. Mostly occasions (Mother's Day, birthdays), but sometimes we go just because. We've gone for dinner, brunch and llunch. Great everytime. Diverse menu. I've tried some different items on the menu and liked them all. My favorite is still the Lamb shank. they have a massive wine list and a party room. The staff is all helpful and well versed in the menu and wine list. The restaurant is vast, but the layout suggest a smaller more intimate environment. I think I just talked myself into another trip."

  • "Love the food. It is a bit rich but delicious. Personally, I wish you would have a bit more sides with your dishes. I like variety rather than a large portion of one food. Overall, I love eating here."

  • "This is our go to restaurant for lunch after the movies. Never disappoints"

  • "The food was good but my husband was still hungry after. The food came out very quickly. Felt like for such an expensive meal it shouldn't feel like fast food."

  • "Fun place to celebrate an occasion with a group. Servers were confused when delivering main dishes and one person didn't receive her dish until the end . "

  • "This place will continue to make money hand over fist. There are a ton of people who crave an upscale wine bar that you might encounter in the city. And so they'll go here and hope for ambiance. What they'll find is a wine list is unimaginative and without values. The food is just 'ok' and would be worse were it not for some floursishes the chef saw in a better restaurant. ("oh...bone marrow! and herb on salmon!") Really this place just confirms all the worst things about dining on Long Island: big hair, fake ****, goom-bahs and goom-ahs, loud, awful decor, and really...boring. "

  • "Great food and friendly service. Make a reservation they are busy! "

  • "We were a party of 4 at 5:30pm on Mother's Day. It was a holiday so of course they were busy but we waited close to 20 minutes for our drink order, and it was over an hour before our meals were served. Repeated inquires with the wait staff and management were met with apologies, but no real explanation. Perhaps they were short staffed that evening? Once the food finally did arrive I have to say everything was outstanding, and we weren't inclined to be favorable because of the bad service. When the bill arrived we (again) took up the long wait with the manager, who promptly knocked $50 off the bill. What else can I say? They made it as right as they could, so I will give them a second chance. "

  • "The restaurant is unique in its decor---modern and upbeat but comfortable. The seating is roomy. The noise level is energetic, and maybe a bit noisy for some people. Overall, though, a great place to meet with friends and have a great evening. We had a reservation at 7PM and were taken just a few minutes after that time. We were not rushed and were able to take our time with your meals. The seating for our group was in a large booth that could fit 8 people comfortably. The food was excellent. Selections were varied. The meals were well prepared. The cocktails and wine were excellent. Definitely would go back. "

  • "When i go out to eat, I look for a place thays gonna give me the complete experience...beautiful scenery, great drinks, delicious food, great service, rockin dessert, calm but enlightened atmosphere. City cellar had it all for me! I was however disappointed with their beet & pine nut goat cheese salad (beets were flavorless & too hard, not sweet & not ready 2 be eaten)..goat cheese wasnt crumbled throughout the salad but rather a fried puff on the side, also very flavorless. Dressing was blan too Their wine was amazing, cheese platter, delicious. I also enjoyed the dessert, creme brulee....although it was cold inside it was yummy. Overall, yes I will 100% fo back, but will def pick somethibg different to eat"

  • "Food is very good...ambiance is nice...would be better if you didn't have to deal with Roosevelt Field/Old Country Road traffic to get there. Our waiter was great. Super friendly...didn't rush us."

  • "hi, I really love this restaurant and chose it for my mother's day dinner celebration. Unfortunately, we waited hours just to eat a piece of tiny cut up steak and dry salmon. "

  • "THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER and it really put a damper on the entire day. I did receive an email about menu, but there was absolutely nothing in it that mentioned that City Cellar's weekly Jazz Brunch would not be available on Sunday, May 11th MOTHER'S DAY. I had also invited my Sister since it was also her Birthday. Our reservation was 12 noon. City Cellar served only a full DINNER menu beginning at 11am. There were many people in the parking lot that were just as disappointed. We will NEVER return. Unfortunately, it was too late to try to get brunch somewhere else. I can't imagine the thinking behind this. Oh yes, GREED!"

  • "Been to City Cellar many times. Food is good, not great. Problem is they don't honor reservation. For second time in a row, we have made OpenTable reservation, arrived on-time and had to wait over a half an hour. On Saturday night we went specifically because OpenTable showed availability at 8:30 and we wanted to have dinner and then see a movie. We arrived at 8:30, were told "a few minutes". At 8:45 we were told "a couple of minutes". The manager of the front desk must have been a used car salesman before working there. Finally at 9:05 we simply left and went to Cafe Formaggio where we sat right down and were served immediately. NEVER going back to City Cellar."

  • "I went to City Cellar for Mother's Day. Despite the crowd, we didn't wait long to be seated. However, the food took a while to arrive at the table. When the food finally arrived I was very disappointed by the portion size. For $30 per entree, I certainly was expecting more food. The salmon was delicious, but if I didn't have brunch a few hours earlier I would have been starving after dinner. In the past, I had a four course brunch at The Palm for a couple dollars more and was full all day. Finally, the servers asked several times if we wanted a drink after we declined two times earlier. We don't drink alcohol or sugary drinks, so I found this somewhat pushy to upsell. All in all, it was a decent dining experience."
