  • "Food is alright. Our main course was served before we were even finished with our appetizers. Overall it was alright, prices were kind of high for food thats nothing special."

  • "Great spot for dinner before or after the movies (Raceway is right across the street). I had the cobb salad - I highly recommend it, delicious. My date had the lamb and was less than impressed, but he liked it. We sat in a booth, which was not the most comfortable - would've preferred a table."

  • "The food and service were wonderful. Lively and fun vibe. Can be a bit noisy at times. Overall great experience."

  • "I had made reservations at 8 then called and moved to 8:40 which was not a problem. Upon arrival, I provided the hostess with my name and time. She then gasp and immediately seemed to indicate that was not possible until the other hostess checked and sure enough it was for 8:40. The arrival and greeting ruined the experience. The food and our waiter were both outstanding. But there needs to be a focus on the greeting. This is not some exclusive pretentious club."

  • "My friend and I had dinner two weeks ago on a Sunday. We were seated at a nice table and our waiter came to take our beverage and dinner orders. I had the Salmon with sweet potato purée and mixed vegetables and my friend had the Brick Chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Both dinners were very good; we also shared a Spinach Salad before our meal. For desert we tried the S'mores in a Jar, which was very rich. It was hard to get it out of a jar- so maybe it would be better served in a dish. Anyway, it was an enjoyable evening and good service at City Cellar."

  • "I have had several of the lunch choices and enjoyed each and every one of them. Good food at an excellent price. It is so reasonable that my husband and I come for a guaranteed good lunch at a reasonable price monthly. We LOVE this neighborhood restaurant."

  • "The duck dish I had on 3-21 was exceptionally good and plentiful-but was so good I would have eaten more if seconds were available.. Most restaurant duck has a reheated taste-yours didn't--tasted freshly made and was cooked med/rare as requested. I would have preferred a different vegetable on which it was served. My waiter suggested an excellent tasting and plentiful red zinfandel at $15. My wife and dinner companions are retired , but young seniors who said to me their dinner was very good. Keep the chef. happy. Have had two creative, delicious and plentiful meals at CC with friends and family members and looking forward to my third."

  • "We've been here many times, in fact every time we're in the Westbury area, and it's always great. Only wish they would build one nearer to us, in Suffolk County near Port Jeff. That would make me very happy. The food selection is great and the can't beat their price fix offerings. Delish!"

  • "I was there on Wednesday with my friend. Food was cold since they just patched it and waitress was not trained about food content and kind of rude on service food"
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "This was my second time at City Cellar. Monday night is 1/2 price $100 bottles of wine and the wine we selected was delicious - so good we ordered one to take home! The service was better than normal and I will definitely be going back."

  • "This local gem has it all - wonderful menus for brunch, lunch and dinner. Sunday Brunch includes a complimentary breakfast cocktail while you are enjoying live jazz music. Wonderful daily specials along with great service."

  • "This is a great spot and a convenient location (especially if you want to swing by Target or the new premium outlets in Garden City!). City Cellar is a huge space, open and airy. The Jazz Brunch on Sunday is a broad menu (everything from omelets to entrees) and includes a drink. The jazz band was nice, but it got very loud in the restaurant when they were playing. It was actually hard to hold a conversation. Once the crowds dissipated at about 2:30 it was very pleasant. Cobb Salad with grilled chicken was excellent. (Eggs Benedict not so much...)"

  • "This was my second time here for brunch- both times loved my meal. Staff is very accomadating and very friendly. Very nice ambiance with jazz band. Would definitely go back. Did not notice kids menu for brunch but my 10 year old daughter was able to find something for herself on regular menu with no problem. Delicious food!,,"

  • "The noise level is a bit "energetic " so don't expect to have an intimate conversation - but the food and service are fabulous"

  • "Two of us ordered eggs Benedict for brunch, both came with Prosciutto instead of Canadian bacon even though the menu said Canadian bacon, it also arrived cool (not hot)."

  • "We had a great time with friends at the City Cellar. The place is beautiful, (a bit noisy, but still able to carry on a conversation), and the food was very good! Our waitress provided excellent service and was very helpful finding me gluten free options on the menu."

  • "I've been to the City Cellar quite a few times, but haven't been there in a while. It turns out that they have been through a change. The menu always consisted of good selections but now they yuppie-ized them. The fancier dishes, the flowery descriptions and the re-trained waiters (and don't forget the higher prices) all seem to work. I went with a group of friends. We ordered the flatbreads (little pizzas) for starters, they were quite good. I ordered the pork Osso Bucco which was very good. So even though they went Yuppie on us, It's still an enjoyable restaurant."

  • "I came here on a Friday night with my girlfriends and City Cellar could not have been more perfect! The wine, food and ambiance was spot on and our waiter was fantastic! He was super friendly and down to earth and he never once rushed us. We unintentionally had a 3.5 hour dinner and felt welcome every minute of it. City Cellar was by far the best spot for us to kick off a girls night tradition and we would DEFINITELY go back."

  • "We love City Cellar and it's our go-to place with our family and friends. Whether it's an impromptu Saturday dinner out or a get together with friends for a special occassion, the food and atmosphere is always on point. I had the snapper special with broccoli rabe and risotto and it was perfect. My friend had the pork osso bucco with beans and it was so hearty that she had to take half of it home to enjoy the next day. The flourless chocolate cake was creamy and decandent and the carmelized brioche with the pistachio gelato was heavenly. Thank you, City Cellar!"

  • "It was great to visit again, have dinner and enjoy a rare evening out. We both started with salads where my wife's had a bit too much lemon in the dressing for her taste and my wedge was a standard. My wife had the pink snapper special and I had the cheeseburger. My wife said the snapper was very favorful and delish and my burger was cooked as requested and very tasty. We washed it all down with a bottle of Barbera d'Asti which was reasonably priced and matched well with our entrees. Odd that upon the waiter asking if we wanted to see the dessert menu and we stating that we would look but probably not order any, we were provided with the check for the evening without asking us if we wanted coffee or tea. Overall, a good dining experience."

  • "Our party of 6 was seated promptly on a very busy Saturday night. The salads and entrees were delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for group dinners. If you're looking for a good place for a romantic dinner on a Saturday night, this is not the place because of the noise level."

  • "We have a great meal at City Cellar! The flatbreads were delicious as appetizers and the main courses were great too! We especially liked the Brick Oven Chicken and the gnocchi. Equally as impressive was the service. Our waiter was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He guided us through the menu and made sure my daughter's meal was prepared appropriately (she has a nut allergy). Overall, it was a great night!"

  • "Their sunset menu served daily from 4pm-6:30pm for $24.99 is a fantastic deal. The hummus appetizer is huge, a large bowl of hummus served with a plate full of pita that was creamy & tasty to boot. For the entree the steak frittes was a large piece of skirt steak served with creamed spinach & a heaping mound of shoestring fries (half sweet half reg potato). The steak was cooked perfectly & delicious. The creamed spinach was a lighter version that you get other places; equally good. The fries served with a truffle aioli were crispy & divine. The flourless chocolate cake was divine & the coffee was nice and bold. They also have a decent selection of wines by the glass. Great place for dinner and a steal if you take advantage of the prix-fix."

  • "Food wasn't terrible but if I'm spending $37 on Sea Bass and $50 on a bottle of mediocre wine it better be excellent which it wasn't. Would rather spend my money elsewhere like Seasons 52."

  • "Coming from living in Manhattan for 10 years, I do not hold a very high standard for top notch Long Island restaurants that are not steakhouses. Everything we ate this night was tasty. The Pizza with Pork Belly and Fried Edd was phenomenal. In the city, I wouldnt give such high reviews but pretty solid for LI......"

  • "I had a great time for my 8 o'clock dinner on a friday night. They had my table ready to go when i got to the restaurant. I made a special request with management to have a set of flower to be on the table when we got there. When we arrived it was sitting on the table. The wine list was vast and the specials were very good. I usually don't ever do the specials and just tick to meals that i know. I am glad i tried the pork chop special with a apple topping and sweet potatoes on the side."

  • "We hadn't been to City Cellar for about a year and didn't realize the menu changed. It is now trying to be more upscale and the menu is much more expensive. I don't think we will go back. We were disappointed. The food isn't good enough to warrant the price."

  • "This is the 4th time we have eaten at City Cellar and the experience can only be described as rushed. Each portion of our meal was served within minutes of each other. In fact, while we were still finishing our salads they tried to serve our dinner which was taken back and put under warming lights. There was absolutely no time between meals to relax, enjoy our drinks and have a conversation. As soon as our dinner plates were removed, they took our dessert order and it was delivered 1 minute later. Very disappointing. We will not be going back to City Cellar again as they just want you in and out"
