  • One of my favorite places.

One of my favorite places. Excellent food and service. Unfortunately, on this particular visit their credit card machine was not working and Citrus Bistro required payment by cash or check. As I do not carry a lot of cash anymore, I was inconvenienced by having to go to a nearby ATM and withdraw cash to pay for the dinner for my companion and me. That is why I marked Service as being only Fair.

  • A Hidden Gem in North Dallas
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

A hidden gem from the south of France in North Dallas. The food was exquisite. Fresh, flavorful, and prepared perfectly. The champagne-brie w/mushroom soup and the Hawaiian Walu w/shrimp were the best dishes with the lobster-crabcake a close 2nd. The staff were amazingly friendly and warm. We sat in the kitchen and felt like we were at the Chefs home as guests. Prices were reasonable and its BYOB. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was good, but we were only allowed to order from their Valentines Day menu. They didn't have any music playing and when we asked about it we were told that we just couldn't hear it. But even when no one was talking music couldn't be heard. The food was really good though. I wouldn't go back though.

I know the special problems that can occur on Valentines Day when it comes to dining. I was under no delution that everything would be fantastic. I just didn't expect everything to be so poor. This meal dragged on and on into the night. It was very disapointing.

We like going there because it is BYOB. The food is quite rich with lots of sauces and not reasonable. They make up for no liquor license by charging a lot. I wish they would lighten up on the sauces. They also need to check to see what the odor is in the rear of the restaurant. We park in the back and come in the back way. That odor is quite strong.

We had dined at Citrus Bistro once, about 9 months ago, and decided to go back (our first experience had been very favorable). Since our last visit, the restaurant has converted to BYOB instead of offering wines, with a $7 corkage fee. We consider that a major advantage at it allows us to select from our wines and cuts considerably in the cost of the meal. We had 3 different entrees, all seafood (salmon, soft shell crab, and bass), and all of us enjoyed ours very much, plus a little sharing. One of the notable features of both our visits is how well the side dish vegetables are prepared. They were very fresh and complemented the entrees. On both visits, the ervice was very friendly without being intrusive at all.

Always a fun choice - it was unusually quiet this night - often it is packed and loud - so it was a fun change to be able to talk to the others at the table without a lot of background noise. The menu is always creative. We love to bring nice bottles of wine to this restaurant.

This restaurant is BYOB with a $7 cork charge. The choices for restaurant week were great! Started out with the Chilled Cucumber soup and a Mushroom Pastry dish. The Filet was topped with a red wine sauce and Gorgonzola Cheese and the Chicken dish had a subtle raspberry flavor. The Date Cake was awesome and so was the Creme Brulee.

This is terrific little restaurant in a Preston Royal shopping strip. It definitely has a French bistro feel and, on a Saturday night, every table was filled with adults enjoying their meal and lively conversations. If I have one complaint, it is that no one told us that they don't serve wine and it is BYOB. It should be written in BOLD at the beginning of the description, instead of hidden in the last paragraph. My husband had to leave to go and buy wine for our little group. After that, we had a great time.

Restaurant week 2012~ This place is small and from what I'm told it used to be smaller. BYOB:yes please! $7 corking fee makes this all the more fantastic! Since I've eaten there I've been dreaming about their escargot. Those snails are so delicious all swimming in butter and garlic (lots of garlic) and herbs. I ordered Salmon with a beurre blanc sauce and it was pretty good. Another person at the table ordered the same and said his was too salty. I'd like to go back and try some food off their full menu. The service was fine, no complaints here.

Citrus Bistro is a neighborhood gem! Tucked into an unlikely location, once inside the ambience is warm and comfortable. The food is excellent, service attentive service, and staff quite knowledgable about the foods and how they are prepared. All ingredients are top notch - always very fresh and perfectly prepared. The menu has a nice range of authentic French and American favorites. BYOB is a plus for us. I highly recommend Citrus Bistro for a medium sized group or a quiet dinner for two.

The menu is varied with few improvements on classic favorites like calamari - like you wish ALL calamari would taste, tender with delicious spicey dipping sauce. One of the few places to get fabulous Dover Sole prepared table side. Your special occasion is enhanced when you bring your own favorite bottle of wine. Fish, pasta, variety of meat all have delicate and distinctive seasoning. The friendly and attentive service will entice you to try the signature date cake - even if, like me, you may not be a dessert person. You will not be disappointed.
