We celebrated our anniversary here. French food is one of my favorites, so I was really excited about trying Citrus. The steak was tender (but not hot), and the service was great, but those are the only real positives I can offer. The salads were an attempt, but didn't make it, with 2 halves of a grape tomato on top of lettuce. No exaggeration. We shared a creme brûlée, which wasn't the smooth texture one would expect. The decor was pretty bad - but that's not the reason people return to a restaurant. The dishes need to be improved upon greatly. I'd say this would be a good place to meet people for lunch, not for a romantic dinner.

While not a bad meal, we were definitely not wowed for a meal in the price range. Cute place and menu was promising but for a restaurant that calls it self French/ Mediterranean the dishes were surprisingly bland. Crab cakes were very plain , Sole Dynamite was ok but a bit overcooked on the edges, Veal Saltimbocca was average but this is supposed to be a seafood restaurant so maybe not the best menu choice. Could be it was just a bad night in the kitchen or maybe just not the best dishes on their menu but we were very under whelmed and for us there are better options in this price range.

Our food was delicious and all six in our group enjoyed their meals. Lacking was enough wait staff. Our waiter had far too many tables to serve. Thus after taking initial drink order there was no offer to refresh beverages. Also, perhaps more kitchen staff needed. Very long wait between courses. Food, when it arrived, was hot, tasty and beautifully plated.

this was a very nice suprise for a local neighborhood restaurant. The food was delicious and the waiters attention and friendliness was good too. Music was very very nice but a bit too loud in such a small room. My only complaint is that when our other party arrived before us he was told we did not have a reservation yet I had a confirmation number from open table....a bit embarrassing. we were well accommodated and enjoyed the evening .

After reading all the great reviews I expected way more. The crab cake was very plain. The tomato soup was more like spaghetti sauce although both mine and my wifes entrees were quite good. For dessert we had crème brulee which we order almost everywhere that has it, and it was very average. We wanted chocolate mousse as well but they were out of it despite not being busy at all & having it one of 3 desserts on the restaurant week menu so we also tried the "date cake" which was a bit better than the crème brulee but didn't wow us. All of this and it took us over 2 hours to eat when there were only 4 occupied tables (including us) in the entire place! Overall it wasn't horrible but we wouldn't go back again.

Citrus Bistro has a very diverse menu and has options for even non-seafood types. The service was great, we were quickly seated and cared for throughout our dining experienced. Our server was familiar with the menu and a great help on providing direction for our selections based upon our interactions. The live Jazz band was great, the atmosphere was inviting and upscale and still somewhat casual. Most importantly the food was spectacular. For my family, this is not a cheap meal. However, for the quality of the food and what you get, it is definitely a bargain. If you are looking for inexpensive mediocre food, this is not for you. If you are looking for great food at a fair price, you will love this place.

Although this has been open for 9 months, we just heard about it last week from our son who had a great experience there. We went Monday evening and had a wonderful meal of salmon ceviche, poached salmon and seared sea bass with curry sauce. The waiter recommended a wonderful bottle of french white burgundy and was very engaging during the evening. The (French) Chef came by the table to check on things, all in, it was a great evening. We will definitely go back, they have a piano player on Friday and Saturday nights.

The restaurant has no frontage on 26 and is a bit hard to find--just look for "Next" restaurant and it is tucked back behind it. Once inside, the ambiance was great--very contemporary and had a cool vibe to it. The hostess (co-owner) greeted us and sat us at a table near the window/outdoor dining area. There was a fantastic soul singer (there on Friday nights) and it still wasn't loud at all. The food was superb! Incredible good seafood cooked to perfection. The hostess gave us her specially made dessert: date cake. It was the best dessert I've ever had! Highly recommend!!!

The greeting , seating and initial attention were great. The menu and wine list spoke of promise. There was one other table dining when we were seated and one table dining when we left. I was served an incorrect entree. It was sent back and action began to serve the correct dish. Surprisingly! The same dish was returned to me! It even had the bite missing that I had taken! Unacceptable! A slight accommodation was made to me. Upon my departure my waiter again asked if I had problems with the food or service. I was tempted to change his tip to $0.01 but figured I didn't need to say any more. I liked the attention upon my arrival, the ambiance and wine lists. My dining mishap makes me cautious about recommending this restaurant.

  • Mother's Day Brunch

It is worrisome when you go to a small neighborhood diner on one of the busiest days of the year. In this case, Mother's Day. A fixed menu helps, but the reviews tend to be poor due to lack of staff, etc. However, Citrus Bistro pulled it off. While our waiter was rushed, due to serving many more tables than normal, he was very nice and kept the Mimosa's flowing, always a plus! Meanwhile the food, all courses, was excellent. There were 4 of us and we each had different appetizers, entree's, and deserts. All of us raved about the quality and it was cooked to perfection. I thought the fish (sole) was delightful while the others reveled in their meals. We came away full, satisfied, and the two mothers in the group were very happy! Thanks!

We went to Citrus for Easter. There were 6 adults in our party. It was a fixed menu. 2 people had eggs benedict and they loved it. 2 had the chicken cordon blue and this dish was beyond awful. The"chicken" was a fried chicken patty with a slice of deli ham laying on top with a slice of provolone melted on top. The other 2 people had the sole with shrimp. It was a blob on the plate with sauce that had broken. Served with green beans that had been cooked to mush. I have been to Citrus on numerous occasions. It had always been excellent! Not sure what went wrong on Easter Sunday but it fell very short on their usual excellence.

We are foodies, who have eaten in good to great restaurants all over the world. Our biggest peeve: the paucity of fine dining in the Southlake/Keller/Colleyville area. We have been actively exploring, and pleasantly surprised by, new (to us) local places several times recently, but not blown away. We were expecting a similar experience from Citrus, with an unprepossessing facade, tucked well back from the street on Colleyville’s main drag, but the food was excellent, the service was exemplary (thanks, Antonio!), and the general attitude was warm and accommodating to an extraordinary degree. The wine list is heavy on granaches, but they complement the fish dishes nicely. The desserts (try the berries!) were amazing. Highly recommended!

When this restaurant moved from Royal Lane to Collyville, the North Dallas neighborhood went into mourning. I had the occasion to visit the new location and found nothing had changed. The fix cost dinner was excellent and reasonable. The food was perfect. The wine list was excellent including both value based and high end varieties. It is good to know that Citrus has maintained its uniqueness and quality. And finally, the date cake from an old family recipe remains the high point of the evening in an evening of superlatives. I will return even though it is a 45 minute drive.

The restaurant is not exactly in the best place and I could see my wife kind of scoffing at the exterior, but once we made it inside, her expression and expectations totally changed. We had a musician playing near us, but it wasn't too loud. The food was delicious and drinks were relatively priced for that type of restaurant. Waitstaff was superb!

My wife and I really enjoyed Citrus Bistro. It is tucked in the back of a strip mall. Decor had a nautical theme, white tablecloths. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food is outstanding. Menu has a lot of interesting items. Wine list with many interesting choices at reasonable prices. I had a truffle pate to start, which was fabulous. My entree was an Idaho Ruby trout with sriracha beurre blanc. Perfectly prepared and the sauce was inventive and very nicely complemented the fish. The surprising part of the evening was the entertainment, a very talented vocalist accompanying himself on keyboard that literally had the audience on their feet by the end of the evening. Overall, this is an awesome place!
