Fusion / Eclectic
The food was excellent and
somewhat unusual, given that it was a fusion of Asian and Latin. We enjoyed it very much and intend to return."

We often eat at Citrus when we go
to the Beacon Theatre, the food especially the sushi is excellent. The service isn't bad but also not great although is didn't spoil the evening"

Food service ambience - A++++ Good
food great service fun and well priced Wasn't sure I wanted to review because it might make it harder to get a table!"

Went with a group for a
bachelorette dinner and had a very fun time. Food was great, something for everyone."

I always enjoy coming back. The
food atmosphere and staff are always top notch. Whenever I have visitors from out of town we come here. Everyone always has a smile when we walk in the door. The fried calamari and ting yang roll are my favorite."
Dined on 4/2/2014
Varied menu from different areas
of the world. Good drinks great attention to diners would definitely return!"

Was pleasantly surprised by this
restaurant that is just a few blocks away from the Museum of Natural History. I went here with my family after spending all day at the museum. The combination of mexican flare with sushi was a wonderful tasting experience. There aren't a lot of fish choices compared to a traditional sushi restaurant. But, the mixing of jalapeno's, mango's, chipolte and other similar flavors made for a number of unique combinations. I also recommend the burrito sampler. My kids devoured it. Great beer, tequila selection and the margarita with Don Julio was outstanding. Next time I have to go without my kids, so I can sample more than one."

This UWS favorite was NOT hoppin'
on a recent sunday night, which gave the two of us a chance to really appreciate the pleasant ambiance and exceptionally friendly service. We enjoyed three leisurely hours of eating and chatting. The food (warm goat cheese salad, skirt steak, organic tofu, apple crumb pie) was delicious, and our server was helpful & cheerful (the entire staff was incredibly nice). Thank you Citrus for a delightful evening!"

Made reservations for Citrus for a
pre-Allman Brothers diner especially because of the Allman Bros photo exhibit. After buying an over-priced whiskey ($15) at the bar, was told that the exhibit was closed that night for a private event. Since I mentioned the photo exhibit when I called to change my reservation, they should have told me then about the exhibit being closed. Ended up quickly finishing my over-price whiskey and having diner at another restaurant."

We've been going here before
Beacon shows for years but this was the last time! The biggest pro reason is its close proximity to the theatre. This time it was so packed with tables about 12 inches apart that every time the waiter went to the table on our right he brushed his behind against my arm! And the waitress on my left kept hitting me in the face with her long ponytail! It's so noisy and crowded, just awful that you can't enjoy your food which is fair at best. Citrus Grill needs to take out a few tables and change the cafeteria seating if they want me back. This might be ok to try if there are no shows at the theatre, check blackout dates before you go! Me, I will be looking for a new per theatre haunte."

We went to Citrus before attending
a show at the Beacon Theater around the corner - and it looked like every other show-goer was there too. The food was good, but it was a crowded mess - tables are very close together and servers have to do a sort of juggling ballet act to get to them. And it was LOUD. Having said that, we had a good meal and the price was right for what we got. They have an excellent bar selection - particularly in the tequila department - and it's a nice mix of styles. The Tres Tacos was particularly good."
Dined on 3/14/2014
We have been seeing shows at the
Beacon a few times a year for several years, and we always eat at Citrus. The food is consistently outstanding. And they have a varied selection, something for every taste. Service is always very good. Great drink selection and while they have no beers on tap they have a nice selection of bottled beers. Always a good time"

We live near some top notch
restaurants which we frequent so when we go out, our standards are very high. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The food was good. It came out hot and tasted fresh. The dishes seemed unique but tasted 'standard". More specifically, it was more typical cuisine, despite the Asian/Latino combo. The drinks were also standard but strong, which deserves recognition. Overall, it's location, service, ambiance (positive energy in the building) and solid food were reasons we'd return (if we were going to the Beacon Theater) and we'd know what to expect."

We had a very good dinner at
Citrus Bar & Grill. The service was good, and the dinner was excellent. This was our first time and also the first time we had experienced a fusion of Asian and Latin. We enjoyed it very much."

I love Valentines day but this
year the day caught me and my fiancee off guard but we luckily got a spot at our favorite restaurant and were treated like gold as always. We received a call earlier in the day confirming our reservation, when we arrived we were immediately escorted to our table by the friendly efficient hostess who also checked our coats. Our appetizers were delivered quickly piping hot and delicious and our food followed in the appropriate amount of time. Our waitress didn't hover but was available to us when needed. The prix fixe menu was delicious and while we didn't avail ourselves of dessert I know it would have been spectacular. We paid the check received our coats and left full and happy. A great Valentines day 2014."

I found this restaurant on your
website and it was terrible. My husband and I went for Valentine's Day and we were treated to mediocre food and terrible service. Silverware was thrown on the table and water glasses were slammed down on the wrong side. I was eating my salad about to put a bite into my mouth when the server picked up my plate and tried to put my entree down. It is obvious that Citrus' management either is not paying attention or doesn't care. We should have left after our appetizers. So much for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner. Your reviews of this establishment should be updated."

Our group chose Citrus Bar and
Grill on a whim. We were all pleasantly surprised as to how delicious every single course was. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meals - we can vouch for the pomegranite-glazed salmon, the combination sushi special (involving various sashimi and rolls - available in white or brown rice - we preferred the white rice), chicken fajitas and the steak. My only gripe would be the beverage selection was limited, with only one beer on tap and a few available in bottles. Prices were reasonable ~$25/main course. Certainly recommend this restaurant for double dates or small groups of friends."

Great venue if you are going to a
show at The Beacon Theater. It is right around the corner from the lobby entrance. Good food and fun atmosphere."
Dined on 2/6/2014
This Pan Asian/Pan-Latin bar and
grill has something for everyone. The drinks are excellent, the list of tequilas is extensive, the service is attentive and accommodating, and the food is sublime. What more can you ask for?!"

I had a grand time celebrating my
birthday dinner here! My friends and I couldn't get enough of all the delicious entrees. And the drinks!! So yummy. We all had different drinks and loved them! Definitely will be back for a date or another girls night out :) Thank you, Citrus!!"

Atmosphere was somewhat electric
and welcoming at the same time. Hosts and wait staff were friendly and professional. Food was beautiful and healthy with amazing flavor combinations. Drinks are yummy. Nice wine selection too. We shall return!"
Dined on 1/17/2014
Great location and nice ambience,
but the food was average, when we ask for a hot sauce, they brought us a store bought bottle. This place is a Latin foodies.... it should be homemade! Not worth a return visit for the price of the menu nore the quality of the food."
Dined on 1/12/2014
Nice variety menu. Wait staff was
terrific. They even took notice that it was a birthday celebration and put a candle on our dessert. Would definitely recommend and go back."
Dined on 1/8/2014
Seems like a nice find. However,
since the waiter knew he'd be getting a guaranteed tip (due to our party of 8), the service was terrible. Also, the food is not as great as the prices would make it seem it should be. Only good thing, the margaritas we're good (but yet again over priced). Would not return."
Dined on 1/5/2014
Citrus is an informal, efficient
and pleasant place for dinner. It is exceptionally well managed, so the service is intelligent, prompt and personable. The prix fixe at $35 is a good deal, and the menu (which offers both TexMex and very good sushi/sashimi) has sufficient variety of good quality food. The cheeseburger, by the way, is outstanding."

On a whim I found Citrus Bar &
Grill and was treated to a terrific dining experience. I love the blending of Latin and Asian influences. I would go back again in a heartbeat."
Dined on 1/3/2014
Special menu had lots to choose
from. Yin-yang roll app was delicious. Service was good, as always. Perfect for dinner before a show at the Beacon."
Dined on 12/31/2013
We had 6 people for a 7:30 NYE
dinner. A holiday menu was offered, but still provided a wide variety of choices. We created a family style feast that included hot and cold appetizers, along with 3 dinner entrees and 2 sushi platters. Everything tasted great, and our waiter was friendly and attentive."
Dined on 12/31/2013
This restaurant has 3 seating
levels. The lower level, when filled, is so noisy you can forget about trying to carry on a conversation unless you shout across the table...which is what most people are doing. The first time we visited this place, we were seated on the second level which seems to have fewer tables. That said, we had a pleasant evening enjoying wonderful food and great conversation. That is why we returned. On this visit, we were seated on the lower level. While the food remains excellent, the ability to converse across the table is impossible. So I highly recommend this restaurant if you dine early in the evening or if you request a seat on the second level. Food is great."

and i would recommend this restaurant"

Through Open Table of course I
booked a Table for 8 for Christmas Day. The problem was they sat us at a booth for 6 all the way in the back corner!!! When we pointed out the problem they just said, "Oh, would you like a chair for the end?" Yes, but that still only added one place. My son ended up squeezed in the corner with no real place on the table. It was frustrating. It was Christmas, we had invited friends out to dinner with us and I really didn't want to make it an issue but it definitely put a damper on the experience."
Dined on 12/25/2013
A Pan-Asian/Mexican fusion
concept; the two traditions work together well. Great house Margaritas: spend a little extra and get a dollop of a frozen fruit puree (I chose the blood orange). We were 5 adults with two children and were treated well. Lovely space with wonderful lighting a high ceiling. Not crowded when we were there, so noise level was not an issue. I suspect that even with the hard surfaces, the noise level is modulated by the high ceilings when the joint is jumping. We will return."
Dined on 12/23/2013
Our server was fantastic. She is
the person who best represents...and she did a great job. Her suggestions were ideal and not too over the top...just right. We had a very pleasant night out, exactly what we were looking for."

show but make a reservation!! Thankfully we did but there were people that couldn't get in!"
