Diner Reviews
  • "I really enjoyed this place. I loved the yellow and white décor, and the fish I ordered - Branzino - was out of the world and cooked to perfection. My husband had salmon, which was also excellent. Service was prompt and friendly, too."

  • "We were there for a birthday and the food and the "birthday" plate were excellent. The atmosphere is really nice and you feel you are in a very elegant restaurant/bar. Our service was OK, with a new, inexperienced waiter, who tried very hard, and bus men who were not the best. Usually service is excellent at this restaurant so perhaps these were new people who need a bit more training. Our favorite waiter did not have our table."

  • "Had dinner,, really wanted to have a cocktail at the bar but tiny, 8 stools! We were seated and service was great. The best branzino, but small menu for dinner. However we both enjoyed our entrees, seafood was very fresh and we'll spiced. Would be a once in a while place to go."

  • "Great food from a select menu and evening ambience perfect. Bar Service was excellent - dining service a little slow."

  • "Lovely ambiance, quiet, excellent service and wonderful food. We really enjoyed the seared scallops and always order the Caesar salad. It's the best!"

  • "We frequent Citron regularly. The food is consistently excellent. If's fun dining outside orinside the restaurant. We never feel rushed by the wait staff. Food is prepared with the freshest ingredients."

  • "Was seated and had our water refilled about 4 times before being asked what we would like. The server was very helpful but timing, and organization of the staff was poor at best. I had shrimp that was very overcooked and overall the quality was not that of a $150 final bill."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "Service was a bit slow but understable being that it was 105°f. Overall a great lunch."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "we had a lovely dinner at the Citron. the service was very friendly. The restaurant was much smaller than we expected. tiny really. we had hoped to have a drink at the bar but it was also small and the hotel patrons were there with dogs and shorts when we were rubbing shoulders with them for our romantic night out."

  • " Palm Springs art deco ambience at it's best. The food and wine are excellent and beautifully presented. Superb bar. Perfect cocktails every time. The wait staff is great about remembering guest's names and they're always friendly and pleasant, including the parking valets. All are professional. And THANK YOU ALL for saying "you're welcome" or "my pleasure" instead of that mindless response, "no problem". If we had to come up with a complaint it would be that the sunburst mirror decorations were removed from the Cabaña area of the patio. This has left the gray fabric wall under the canopy drab and ugly. Put 'em back, PLEASE! They were a perfect foil for the diner stuck facing that wall. Inside dining is a little noisy."

  • "I love Citron. It's my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "We love Citron inside and outside. But a small club soda with cranberry splash for $6.00 was highway robbery."
    Dined on 6/9/2014
  • "I'd heard wonderful things about Citron and perhaps this was an off night. I found the food to be good but not exceptional. The waiter was unfamiliar with the menu and gave incorrect information about the menu. The small restaurant adjoins the bar which attracts load groups (generally stopping by from some corporate event) making the otherwise intimate dining area into a noisy party scene."

  • "RESTAURANT WEEK MENU; cauliflower soufflé a real winner, excellent service, real nice ambience, ($5 Valet parking irritates) I'd come back."

  • "Excellent food and better than excellent service. "

  • "Always a good meal with attentive service around a fun atmosphere. Outside dining was relaxing and wasn't too busy to allow for good conversation but also people watching. Sergio provided excellent service and I will request him again next time."

  • "We went for brunch on Mother's Day, and it was exceptional! The food pairings were outstanding! Love the new chef!!! "

  • "We always look for new places to explore on our trips to PS. The hotel is tucked off the main strip in a non descript building. However, once inside it's a beautiful oasis. Food was very good - service was adequate although we did have to wait quite a awhile to get a drink at the pool area before dinner. Not a biggie. Will def go back on one of our trips "

  • "Much smaller and less impressive than I expected. The outdoor tables were right by the pool which was small and awkward to eat next to people in their bathing suits. The food was just ok. Nothing special about this place. I was really looking forward to a special brunch with a beautiful atmosphere. It was neither of those things. "

  • "I would go here again for the poolside dining. It was very nice. Food was fine too. "

  • "Good food in small portions served poolside, so don't bother dressing up. We were definitely overdressed in our Easter best, ha ha. The place looks bigger in photos."

  • "What else do you need in Palm Springs? A perfectly hidden gem with a stunning backdrop of our beautiful mountains, great service, relaxed vibe, killer décor by Kelly - This is what you see in your head when you think of Palm Springs............. just go."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch, everything was fine. Service was not attentive, though, in spite of an almost-empty dining room because the outdoor area was where the action was."

  • "Loved the Clam Chowder and the duck entree! And the chocolate mousse dessert was to die for!!!"

  • "The place is very nice especially the outside around the swimming pool. Delicious food and delicate service. We were there for a dinner with our children and it was perfect."

  • "Great place for a quiet lunch. The setting is beautiful with covered outdoor pool side tables. Food was great. Would be a terrific place for a quiet and special luncheon."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "The food was excellent, service was great and the ambience sitting by the lit pool celebrating our daughter's birthday made for a special evening that she will long remember. We have been to the Citron three times over several years and every time we have had a wonderful experience."

  • "Having stayed in or dined at most of the hotels in Palm Springs, we were excited to check out the Viceroy. I've been to the one in Santa Monica many times and enjoy the decor and fun bar scene there. Brunch at the Palm Springs location was the opposite. The service was very friendly and the food was fine, but the atmosphere was far from vibrant."

  • "The setting was great, service and valet were top shelf. My strip steak was cold. My dates seared tuna was just average. Our friend had a chicken dish with no wildly good comment on it. We didn't get the food satisfaction for the price."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "Ordered dinner and a bottle of wine. Drank the wine and over an hour had gone by and not even a salad. We were told our bad luck as a large party came in. Not sure where as almost empty restaurant"

  • "This was a return visit for us. We enjoyed this place the first time and couldn't wait to return. The food is tasty and beautifully plated. The service is attentive without being intrusive. When we go back for another visit to Palm Springs we will go back to Citron. Yum!"

  • "Great ambience outside on patio by pool, with heaters on.... A little darkness, so bring your phone with flashlight app to read the menu which is OK if you know ahead, as we did.. Food is consistently good, and service was faultless. If you want to dine somewhere out of the main places, this gem is a great alternative. Has a lovely bar scene inside the restaurant."

  • "While none of the food was exceptional (except the baguette), everything we ordered was good."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "This is the second visit my husband and I have made to Citron. This year we took our adult daughter who was visiting us from Portland, OR. The poolside view is delightful and romantic in the evening. The food is excellent, service is professional and on spot. We recommend Citron to anyone looking for a special evening."

  • "Ambiance is very nice but dinner was an hour after the appetizer course (for which the waiter was apologetic). When the entrees finally came they were bland - Sea Bass was not hot and was tough and flavorless; chicken was warm but the blandest ever tasted, the accompanying vegetables were rubbery and unidentifiable. Not a good evening for dinner."

  • "A French Regency look inside (reminds me of my Aunt Pauline's home in Beverly Hills in the 60's), with dining outside by the pool as well."

  • "If you like a different ambiance, excellent service and good food - experience Citron - in the Patio on a starry night."

  • "The NY Strip Steak is seared with the blue cheese on it so the blue cheese is a crust -- so delicious!! Add the horseradish bearnaise and oh my! We also had the kale salad which was delicious!! Truly an epic meal!"

  • "Mixed reviews on Citron. Appetizers were mostly well received (beet salad, pear salad, poke tuna, duck confit) but mains not so much. Tuna was on fennel, which really detracted from the light flavour of the tuna (if you picked the tuna off, it was great, but this was not a good protein/vegetable pairing) and then a lemon broth was poured all around it -- again, totally took away the wonderful flavour of the tuna. The bass was labelled bland, and the salmon was over cooked. The braised ribs were noted as being good. Service was mediocre (& its not as if the server was overly busy) - we had to ask for a decanter for our expensive bottle of red (which he said they might not have!), & had to pour the white ourselves when glasses were empty."

  • "Before you can get out of your car, the attendant announces "we have a resort fee...parking $5." Then, "And we're going to inspect your car for damage". Sheesh, just help me find the restaurant, thats all I ask. Unfortunately that was no bargain either. When the waiter doesn't understand "Ceviche", which is on the menu. you know its going to be a problem. But that paled in comparison to the Trader Joe's tortilla chips that accompanied it. Hmm... Not a particularly inventive lunch menu. I can get an $18 hamburger anywhere. We had SO much more fun with lunch and a pitcher of Sangria by the pool at the Colony Palms Hotel, its not even a contest."
