Service was very professional and friendly without being inappropriately familiar. Would have given it higher marks for food except for a lamb entree ordered by one of our party in which the meat was quite flavorless. Not a good value at $30. Fish entree and a vegetarian pasta entree were enjoyed with no complaints. When I made the reservation on Open Table it didn't indicate that there was a special menu for that day. As we were just there for a light lunch, we asked if we could order something other than the buffet. Our waiter said he would ask the Manager, and he was back quickly with the bar menu, and we were able to order the perfect light lunch. He also brought two huge chocolate covered strawberries with a candle for my friend, compliments of the house. We were delighted and really appreciated the special attention. The night we went they had a live music which made it even special! The scene is hip/trendy/romantic and the outside patio dining is by the poolside. The decor is simple but artsy/charming. The service was excellent. Love Viceroy and would definitely come again. The restaurant/hotel is tucked away in a quiet part of downtown Palm Springs so was a little hard to find the entrance! We sat outside by the pool in a stunning setting accompanied by some wonderful live entertainment. The acoustic music was the perfect pairing with a nice glass of wine and a delightful meal. Got major points for the setting and it felt romantic which gets me a second date! Food was great as usual! I've had brunch here with a group* of friends as well and had great service and everyone seemed happy with the menu. I've never been disappointed by Citron and I doubt you will either.

Service can be slow but this is not the spot to come to if you are in a hurry. Citron is a place to relax and enjoy the pleasures of Palm Springs. We almost always sit outside or at the bar. The inside dining room is small and often lacks the liveliness you find poolside. Drinks are consistently good: strong, delicious and beautiful. I find myself craving the Viceroy Burger, big and rich, and enough for two to split. If you're a local consider getting a membership.
