The intimate restaurant and bar features both traditional and innovative selections on its diverse menu, including the freshest meat, poultry, and seafood, as well as luscious pastries and desserts. Citron's full bar offers a unique wine list, plus specially created apertifs, martinis and cocktails.

Citron's vibrant lemon yellow walls and cool white furnishings provide the perfect setting for a desert dining experience. Or enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the covered and heated poolside patio on sunny days or starry nights;

I've been to the one in Santa Monica many times and enjoy the decor and fun bar scene there. Brunch at the Palm Springs location was the opposite. The service was very friendly and the food was fine, but the atmosphere was far from vibrant."

  • "This was a return visit for us. We enjoyed this place the first time and couldn't wait to return. The food is tasty and beautifully plated. The service is attentive without being intrusive. When we go back for another visit to Palm Springs we will go back to Citron. Yum!"

  • "Great ambience outside on patio by pool, with heaters on.... A little darkness, so bring your phone with flashlight app to read the menu which is OK if you know ahead, as we did.. Food is consistently good, and service was faultless. If you want to dine somewhere out of the main places, this gem is a great alternative. Has a lovely bar scene inside the restaurant."

The poolside view is delightful and romantic in the evening. The food is excellent, service is professional and on spot. We recommend Citron to anyone looking for a special evening."

  • "Ambiance is very nice but dinner was an hour after the appetizer course (for which the waiter was apologetic). When the entrees finally came they were bland - Sea Bass was not hot and was tough and flavorless; chicken was warm but the blandest ever tasted, the accompanying vegetables were rubbery and unidentifiable. Not a good evening for dinner."

  • "The NY Strip Steak is seared with the blue cheese on it so the blue cheese is a crust -- so delicious!! Add the horseradish bearnaise and oh my! We also had the kale salad which was delicious!! Truly an epic meal!"

  • "Mixed reviews on Citron. Appetizers were mostly well received (beet salad, pear salad, poke tuna, duck confit) but mains not so much. Tuna was on fennel, which really detracted from the light flavour of the tuna (if you picked the tuna off, it was great, but this was not a good protein/vegetable pairing) and then a lemon broth was poured all around it -- again, totally took away the wonderful flavour of the tuna. The bass was labelled bland, and the salmon was over cooked. The braised ribs were noted as being good. Service was mediocre (& its not as if the server was overly busy) - we had to ask for a decanter for our expensive bottle of red (which he said they might not have!), & had to pour the white ourselves when glasses were empty."

  • "Before you can get out of your car, the attendant announces "we have a resort fee...parking $5." Then, "And we're going to inspect your car for damage". Sheesh, just help me find the restaurant, thats all I ask. Unfortunately that was no bargain either. When the waiter doesn't understand "Ceviche", which is on the menu. you know its going to be a problem. But that paled in comparison to the Trader Joe's tortilla chips that accompanied it. Hmm... Not a particularly inventive lunch menu. I can get an $18 hamburger anywhere. We had SO much more fun with lunch and a pitcher of Sangria by the pool at the Colony Palms Hotel, its not even a contest."

  • "The bar tender did not use the proper ingredients in one of the cocktails and then tried to justify his approach. Also the menu offered a fresh fig salad but it was served with dried figs. The chef made an excuse about seasonality. The waiter granted the table next to us a free glass of wine but made no attempt to reduce our bill for the above issues. Only after we complained and discussed the issues with the manager did we get an adjustment. I was shocked to find this kind of service and approach to tricking or misleading customers at a place like the Viceroy."

Horrible experience - truly mediocre food, especially the ham "steak" (two thin slices of ham covered with, I'm pretty sure, canned pineapple chunks and syrup). Very very disappointing for all of us. Would have got up and left, but there we are all dressed up for Christmas dinner out! Never, ever, again at this restaurant. Too bad."

  • "Our experience here was what we expected, a friendly crew, that makes you feel welcomed. The cocktail list is fun to read with the creativityness. The choice of the christmas meal was excellent. We did dine indoors, but the outdoor scene was very inviting. My husband and I were heavily involved in conversation, so we did not notice that our meal was dlayed in arriving, so they comped our cocktails! We love the atmosphere so bright and crystally."

  • "Although it was a chilly evening we sat outside by the pool and were kept comfortably warm by the heat lamps. We shared a salad of arugula with fresh figs and prosciutto with a light mustard vinaigrette and shaved parmesan. The ingredients were high quality and shined. I had pan seared sea bass served on a bed of white bean puree and accented with baby artichoke hearts and mushrooms. The sea bass was a tad overdone for my taste but still moist and delicious. The white bean puree was outstanding, with a hint of garlic and lemon. My husband had the duck breast, cooked a perfect medium rare. The sauce over it was excellent. We ended the meal by sharing banana pudding. The service was exceptional. We're certainly be back."

  • "This restaurant was recommended while I visited Palm Springs. The Viceroy is a well-hidden gem, and if I didn't have the address, I might not have found it! With that said, this was an exceptional treat for my 80-year-old Mother-in-Law. She loved our server and the food was out of this world. Now that I'm aware of this seculded but lovely location, I'll surely return on my next visit to the valley."

  • "But if you insist. A friend and I had her birthday dinner at Citron. The only problem we had was a party of 8 was seated at the next table so we requested our table to be moved a few feet away. This was done and one of the other party came over and apologized for their noise. It didn't bother us and the waiters were very helpful in fact we even got a birthday desert. I would rate Citron as a place to go for an intimate dinner."

  • "We dine at Citron on occasion throughout the year and love taking friends from out of town to enjoy the setting and the cuisine. We recently had friends in town from Los Angeles and we showed them a night out starting at Citron. They loved the interior settings and we dined outside near the pool. There was a live performer that really helped set the mood and added much more to the experience than you would get from piped in music. We all had a great night!"

  • "Harrison was our waiter and allowed us time to peruse the menu. From here it went somewhere else. Harrison took our order and he was excellent about the way I wanted it to be delivered to me. I ordered the clam chowder, two salads and the salmon. All was well until the entree was forgotten. Harrison was in a panic and after much fun with this, I advised him that I was really stuffed and not to worry. BUT I started out with Chivas Regal and they ran out. Again Harrison bought me the last of the Chivas Regal and I choose another scotch that was a bit woody. Harrison was great, such a personality and loves his work. His support staff was a bit more subdued. All in all was a wonderful experience. I'll be back!!"

  • "I purchased a voucher via Travelzoo. We had the kale caesar, the ravioli and also the sea bass. The wine was good, but the food and service was really poor. The food was very bland, and we were disappointed by the way our server addressed the issue of slow food preparation. When we asked him when we could expect our main dishes (after 25 minutes) he stated that they were very busy and it was 'coming soon'. Fine. But we noticed other tables received a small plate with a grain salad, and when we inquired about this (upon receiving our food from another server), our server stated that it was a complimentary sample being served because the kitchen was behind... We definitely felt like we were treated differently because we purchased a voucher."

  • "Wonderful patio dining with live music from Michael Keeth. Food wise, it was decent but nothing you can't find at other places. Notable outstanding dishes - Fig and Prosciutto salad and crab cake (the biggest one we've ever been served) Other positives - Healthy portions and food came out nice and hot Negative - Service. No rhythm to their service so dinner felt really dragged out. We weren't in a hurry but it was getting tedious..."

  • "The New York strip cooked medium was juicy and tender. The salmon was perfectly done. Used a travelzoo deal for a small plate to share, two drinks and two entrees - entire meal was half price, just had to pay tax and gratuity. Still an excellent deal for an amazing meal to start off my boyfriend's birthday weekend."

  • "Our biggest complaint is that the a/c was not working well. We asked several times about it, and were told they would turn it down, but it never happened. We were very uncomfortable all through dinner. On the plus side, our waiter was outstanding, and really tried to make our evening memorable. The restaurant is quite small and cozy, but no air circulation. No ceiling fans (what's up with that???). Wine prices are ridiculous. $14 a glass for everyday house wine?? There are many better choices in the desert."
