  • "This was an absolutely, outstanding, and exceptional dining experience. I surprised my boyfriend with a romantic dinner and we both were blown away with the view, food and service. The food is pricey but well worth the experience. I loved it and we will definitely return. Watching the sunset is remarkable. The city look so beautiful from Cite. I recommend every couple must try. You will not be disappointed."

  • "The service was amazing! The view was the best you can get. Watching the sunset over the best skyline in the world cannot be topped. The food was very good and so was the wine."

  • "It is absolutely breathtaking to see sunset and entire Chicago on a palm of you hand when you are eating dinner...Cannot compare to anything..."

  • "This was a last minute booking made through Opentable as we were in the airport leaving the UK for Chicago. On arrival at the restaurant we were seated immediately and I have to say the view was breath taking. Watching the sunset was amazing; however, the best was definitely the food. The menu had just the right number of choices, enough for everyone's taste without being over the top and the quality of the food was brilliant; the wine list is extensive and the red we had was superb. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. All in all a fantastic place, definitely recommended and probably in one of the top 3 restaurants I have ever visited. I hope I get chance to return."

  • "This was the Cherry on top of our weekend! We were celebrating a very special birthday! It was VERY romantic and beautiful (All around!) I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food and wine was worth every penny! What a night to remember! Thank you Cite for such a wonderful dinner experience!"

  • "My guy and I went here for our anniversary, and it felt really special. The view is amazing from the 70th floor, and the waiters are extra attentive. We had the tasting menu, and everything was delicious. My only complaint was the parking was $30 for 2 hours and 10 minutes, and we asked for a Sangria, but they only were able to make a Sangria Margarita which had Tequila, and we don't like teguila, but didn't know that was our only choice. The drink was awful, but the food was excellent. The tasting menu is $89 per person. Eat slowly"

  • "Beautiful Place. Good service, but definitely needs a little attention to details Food We ordered 7 Course Tasting menu. Amuse Bouche – ( Crab- Not very fresh) I felted the next morning. Rest of the meal was very good and well-presented and tasty. Service Was good in general, but no one cleaned the bread crumbs from our table and we had to pour our own wine Other than that it was great. We will return. Thank you"

  • "This is a fun and romantic restaurant. Our family has been attending this restaurant for many years. You can always count on a good steak, and a great view. The wine I ordered was not available, so the waiter tried to pass off a lesser wine, at the same price. Wine I ordered was about $150. Wine he recommended about $85. Had I not known my wines, I would have trusted the waiter, having always had very nice experiences at this restaurant with my family for many years. Knew my wines so I ordered another one that I knew, about $100. Guess you can't trust anyone any more."

  • "Excellent service and food. The Chef's taste was exceptional. View is spectacular and it is clearly a special event restuarant. Not well know and you have to expect the price, but worth it."

  • "CITE has unparalleled 360 degree views of Chicago. The food is classical French and service is friendly, yet unobtrusive."

  • "The view at this place is breathe taking. I would recommend dining at night if you would like to see the city lit up. The decor is well thought out but I think they could fix a couple of things here and there Example the cloth wrapped around pole looked like it was falling off at top. The food was not what I expected it to be. I thought it could have been better. My salad came in long strips, I didn't come to an expensive restaurant to cut my own salad and it also didn't taste all that well. The steak I ordered was a little dry and that was after waiting an hour and a half for it. I didn't mind the wait because of the exceptional view and the time my Fiance were getting to spend together."

  • "The view was breathtaking and the food was amazing. I've been dining in different high dining restaurants for a while now with my girlfriend and Cite became one of the top places I've been to. The ambience is fenomenal and the scenery is just breathtaking. Definitely a place to celebrate a special occasion or have a very romantic dinner. I have been encouraging everyone I know to go and I will definitely be returning."

  • "Cite is in a weird location on LSD - as in you HAVE to cab it there, but the view is phenomenal. Service was amazing, food was great. I will say that I think everything was overpriced for the quality; if I'm paying $60 for a steak (before sides are added), it better be the amazing. Great spot for a special occasion!"

  • "I have been here many times since it opened (shows you may age). I took my first-ever serious high-school girl friend here. This should be one of the best spots in town for view, service and food. Unfortunately, the kitchen just never quite makes it. My wife had the butter poached lobster. I am from Boston, Lobster must be served cooked. Hers was cold inside. We asked that they try again, they did, still with no success, in the end she just gave up. My steak was a good piece of meat well cooked. My house salad was very good. The server tried, but, I think was fighting up hill with the kitchen. You can't beat the view. Ill give that a 5, the food, a 2 or 3 at best. Stay with red meat, that appears be be what they can do."

  • "We found this restaurant online and could not have been happier with the experience. The view was spectacular and the food was done to our request. The service was very efficient and we never waited more than a couple of minutes for the next course. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a special occasion place to dine in Chicago"

  • "Worst service I ever have for they promote as a high class restaurant. The waiter got no service. Food is below average. Only good thing is if they let you to sit by the windows."

  • "The Food, the Ambiance and the View across the vast City and Lake had almost, if not rivaled the beauty of my companion I was dining with. My Date and I felt very special (it had been 30 years since we last seen each other and dated as childhood sweethearts) with the treatment we received from the doorman of the building, (this was exceptional treatment opening our cab door at the buildings entrance, the Coat check for your restaurant was warm and welcoming to assist us with our garments, next, and just as important, the staff within the Restaurant that waited our table. There treatment along with there professionalism was out of this world! They made many trips to our table to assist with providing our every need. The night was Excellent!"

  • "The steak was tough, each side had a weird not so tasty twist to it....(even the mashed potatoes), sea bass and desert was good only. The waiter did offer two glasses of champagne free after I let him know the steak was well done not medium well which I thought was nice. Although the building seems a little dated, The view of the city is beautiful and one of a kind. What I didn't like most is that although I intended to give a 20% tip, the restaurant charge 20% gratuity automatically on a two person bill. I've dined out often but I'd never seen that happen."

  • "I was there with my 16 year old daughter and felt like our waiter rushed us through our entire dinner . He had 4 other tables and seemed rushed to attend to all of them. His assistant was wonderful! He was the one who saved our dinner, he smiled , filled our waterand bread, and seemed very attentive! The atmosphere makes going here worth it. But it is not cheap and for the price, it would have been nice if the entire experience was a 10."

  • "I've been going to cite for a number of years, whenever I wanted to go out and have a nice quiet private evening, I've always enjoyed the atmosphere of cite, even my guest was impressed as to the evening and the dinner for which she initially skeptical upon eating found the cuisine to be perfect as did I. Special kudos to the Chef!!! I would and have recommended Cite to all my Special friends who like myself enjoy perfect evenings."

  • "I took my wife there after seeing the Phantom of the Opera and it was very intimate and romantic place to eat. We both loved our food. I had the steak and she had the chicken. You even get a free desert with your meal. Our waiter was very friendly and nice. He had a good knowledge of the food. A wonderful place to take someone for a romantic evening. Especially the scenic view is still good in the winter."

  • "Cite was a great experience. There was just one issue which was the wine - we ordered white wine and it was not chilled. He put the bottle in ice after serving it to us...so we really only got to enjoy the last glass. Besides that part - restaurant was beautiful food was AMAZING - LAMB and STEAK were PERFECT! Dessert - chocolate macchiato was to die for! Overall it was a great experience with a beautiful view. Just wish I could have enjoyed my wine :)"

  • "We won't be back. Nothing was wrong but other than the view, there's little wow factor found here. The decor is a bit dated but there's a charm to that. The service was....well... Weird. On a romantic evening like Valentine's day, staff should be nice but unobtrusive. We were there to have something special just between the two of us. What we got was an all too chatty waiter, intrusive service - as we are leaving in to talk to one another an arm is thrust between us to pour more wine. Thanks but it could've waited five seconds for us to break from our convo. It hardly matters, the good was pretty good. I have to say the main dish, chareaubriand, was great. Everything else was good but not epic."

  • "One of the worst restaurants Ive been to! First we had to wait about 15 minutes for valet and its the only way you can park. The building is a residence and buisness mix building and its smells like an old apartment building. Now When we arrived we realized that they only offered a valentines special that cost $150 per person plus mandatory 20% gratuity Plus drinks!!! We were never told this when we made the reservations. Anyhow too late we were already there. For the $450 for dining, plus 30 valet parking plus tips totaling almost $500 for 2 people I would rather go to family diner and get same quality food for about $50 total. Definately much much better dining options out there than this and definately at a much better price!"

  • "Triple markup for food. Warm champagne. $30 for parking. $500 for a $200 dinner. Including a moderately priced bottle of wine in the Prix fixe would have gone a long way towards easing the pain of being gouged on Valentine's day, and still provide a handsome profit for the restaurant . Thank you very little, but I won't be back and neither will any of my friends."

  • "I had been to Cite several years ago for a special occasion. It must have changed ownership, as this was an entirely different place. While it still has the view, the romantic aspect has completely vanished. In it's place, there is a loud, MUCH more casual atmosphere. The "ambient" music was John Mayer (?!) playing at a probable 5/10 on the volume scale. The mood lighting (which was superb) is now brighter than any chain restaurant. All of this would be tolerable if they had also changed the menu prices. They did not. Food was quite good, but small portions and just too overpriced for what the restaurant is now ($235 for 2 w/ wine). Not recommended- spend your romantic dinner (and money) at another (i.e. better) restaurant."

  • "Cite is a beautiful restaurant with exception service and food. The waiters were attentive to our needs and made accommodations as needed. The atmosphere was as if we had private dining,....that's how nice it was. The view is outstanding! We will definitely dine at Cite again! Excellent food, service & a great view!!!!!! Thank you for providing us with a great evening on Valentine's Day!"

  • "Beyond a fabulous view if night-time Chicago from the 70th story and delectable food cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, the professional and friendly staff had a wonderful sense of humor and worked as a seamless team that wanted you to enjoy your dining experience. An exceptional evening."

  • "I was leaving the next day to return to United States Marine Corps combat training after being on leave for a month. I wanted a special night out to say goodbye to a very special girl in my life. I chose Cite because I saw the view and couldn't resist. As soon as myself and my date got there I knew I made a great decision. The staff is extremely friendly and the view will surprised even myself, a Chicago resident of 18 years. Being 19 years old, we were definitely the youngest people in the restaurant by far but were treated with elegance and supreme service. The food was absolutely delicious down to the last bite and it was hard to keep a conversation going while staring out the window at the skyline. Definitely a perfect restaurant."
