Diner Reviews
  • "Very good experience, we opted not to order food because the last time we dined at ciro's the food was pricey and portions were small."

  • "Not thrilled with the food though the duck was good. The best part was the 20's-era drinks. I wish there was a main dining area because we felt cut off from any action in the private booths. Also, you would expect live band or at least jazz for background music but instead it's club music."

  • "If you want something different this is your place. Food was good give it a try!"

  • "The staff were friendly and knew the menu well. We loved the food. Drinks were carefully crafted. We will go back!"

  • "I would recommend Ciro's for everyone at least once. The cocktails were great, food very good (Beef sliders and cheese fondue), and atmosphere was interesting. I think the bar for cocktails could be good for regulars. The Speakeasy theme was pretty neat with curtained booths and low light, but not all the time."

  • "I went w my husband and a few friends for my b-day, 6 of us total. Food was absolutely amazing!!!! We had fondue, oysters, scallops, stuffed shrimp, popcorn, French fries... All EXCELLENT!!!! Drinks were strong!!! But great!! Can't wait to go back!!!! Service could have been a little better. Plan to wait a little bit for a drink; Also, dont plan on any one being dressed in real 20's attire. Still a must try!!"

  • "Waited a while even with reservation... otherwise staff was nice & friendly, food was great and the drinks were delicious."

  • "Valet: $5, park yourself... Seating: Right by the service curtain, which was open most of the time - making for a less than private occasion Truffle Popcorn: $8, surprisingly the only memory Menu: Not "old" or "vintage", but unreadable print outs like they were received on a fax machine Drinks: Forgettable, 2 drinks for 2 people served 20 minutes apart from each other. Service: Gave a brief history of each drink we ordered, which was thoughtful - Thank you Patrick"

  • "Cool place for something different. Unfortunately the restaurant could use a major cleaning. There was a smell of wet carpet that hit you immediately when walking in the restaurant. The booths felt damp inside and had leftover food stuck between the cracks of the seats. Drinks were fresh and liked the different option. The food was good and popcorn was awesome but $9 for such a tiny basket is a little ridiculous! Would recommend to friends for after dinner drinks at the bar as the wet, dirty booth wasn't very appetizing."

  • "While on vacation I was researching restaurants to find a new place & came across Ciro's; instantly excited it was a Speakeasy. After reading reviews the only negative comments regard slow service.I can't imagine a more opposing experience. We fell in love with the environment, private booths, lighting, & decor. The atmosphere was quiet & comfortable. Our server,Melissa was awesome! She made drink & menu recommendations, quick with orders, friendly, and always checking back.We have been to Speakeasy venues focused on crafting unique drink menu's & understand the work behind it.The food was some of the best we have ever had. The duck fries and scallops were amazing.Great drink menu.We both were very impressed with the restaurant as a whole."

  • "We went to Ciro's with a group of 6 for my birthday. It was great for a party that size (I'd say 4-6 people.) We had our own private booth, so it was a good environment to have good conversation and experience it with others. They say the serving portions are 'larger than tapas and smaller than dinner.' I would say they are tapas-size, so don't expect to go there for a large dinner, but the food was amazing. Very flavorful and unique. The cocktails were, of course, the best part. I had the Bees Knees (Gin) and it was the best cocktail I've had in a long time. Great for late night, special occasion, and romantic/unique atmosphere."

  • "We went to Ciro's on a Friday night, and had reservations for 10pm. Finding the place wasn't as difficult as I expected thanks to Google Maps. We valet parked out of convenience, which was appreciated, and walking through the little courtyard to the front door set the scene before we were even inside! From the time we got out of the car to the time we left, we had an amazing experience. The ambiance is fantastic. We hit the bar first and marveled at the expanse of the drink list. The drinks we had (Flappers Delight and South of the Border) were AMAZING. Food and service were the best we had ever experienced. Everything on the menu that we tried (which was quite a bit) we just couldnt get enough of. We will definitely be returning to Ciro's."

  • "Slow service, average-tasting but expensive food, dark and dingy surroundings. Plenty of better places to go in Tampa. Give this one a miss."

  • "Was in Tampa for the night on business and looking for a great cocktail bar. Ciro's did a great job with the speakeasy feel. I obtained the password prior to heading to place. From the Sliding opening in the door where they asked for the password to the pre-prohibition style drinks and cocktail menus written on a #4 typewriter they truly made it a memorable experience. Had the Chef's Sliders and was impressed with the flavor and perfect texture of the seafood sliders."

  • "Romantic evening with a beautiful girl, awesome Absinthe, and magnificent food!! It doesn't get any better than that! That is how I would describe our first time at Ciro's Speakeasy and Supper Club this past Monday night. The romantic little booth was perfect for two people who wanted a quiet, fun evening to experience this setting for the first time together. Its a memory that will stay with me forever. The experience of sharing a glass of Absinthe was exhilarating. Learning the history of this highly alcoholic 151 proof beverage was educational as well. Now to the extraordinary food! We started with the stuffed colossal shrimp (Awesome), then the crab cakes (Awesome), and finally the strip steak (Awesome! Awesome!). Increadible!!"

  • "We came here on a Friday night for dinner around 11pm because they were still serving. I thought supper club = dinner. But in this place, it was pub food that was trying to be elevated, but didn't quite make the mark. The ambience was interesting in the private booths. The drinks were very good and staff was knowledgeable about the drinks. We ordered truffle popcorn and duck fries based on reviews, there was nothing special about the two at all. The sliders we ordered were not very good (KFC has better). The required $5 fee to park my own car was the kIcker and not welcomed or necessary. We spent $75 and were still hungry...we walked to Bella Italia 1block away and ate there. This was a waste of money for dinner. Its cool for drinks though"

  • "I absolutely love coming here for a drink with my wife. We can always enjoy a fresh made drink with muddled fresh fruit (and herbs) with great liqours blended with a unique combination of ingredients. We decided to try dinner and reserved a private booth. The food was excellent with Tapas sized portions allowing us to sample a few different plates. The only thing lacking was a choice of wines (only offered 1 red or white by the glass/bottle) for dinner and the table service was below par for this establishment. The service at the bar is always excellent, professional, and prompt considering he drinks they are preparing. I highly recommend the Duck, Escargot, Beef Tartare, Duck Fat Fries. & any drink from the bar. Just needs better wines."

  • "We had a reservation at 7 on a Thursday night and was seated right away. We didn't see our waiter till 7:15. He took our drink order and we didn't see him again until 7:45 when he told us he forgot our order and we had to order our drinks again. Also, at 7:45 we ordered the crab cakes, crispy shrimp, and duck fries. The food came out within 5 minutes and what we got wasn't much. There were only two very small crab cakes ($20), 4 fried shrimp ($20), and a basket of fries ($8) that tasted just like regular fries. Our drinks finally came out at 8:00 and they were undrinkable. Nothing was taken off the bill and the waiter didn't seem sorry about the hour wait for our drinks. I wouldn't recommend this place."

  • "I choose this place because I thought the theme was an interesting and unique idea. The theme was outshines by so many other attributes. The ambience made us feel like we were in an actually 1920's speakeasy, the staff was excellent and the food was exquisite. We had already decided that we would be returning again well before we asked for the check. It's the best place I've found in the Bay in the 15 years I've lived here."

  • "My wife and I had a great time. Ciro's Speakeasy is definitely on our list of hidden gems in Tampa."

  • "This place is authentic...a real speak easy in the heart of Tampa's SOHO, hidden in a building right on beautiful Bayshore. The bartenders are excellent...great artisan cocktails. I had a Sazerac and then our server David suggested a drink I had never had, a Vieux Carre and it was AWESOME! They recommended a whiskey drink for my fiance called Kentucky Champagne and she loved it. We sat in a private booth with a curtain and you could dim the lights and everything. It was very romantic. We also noticed a spacious back room in case we wanted to come with a group. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Ciro's is a great atmosphere and fun dining experience. The food was fabulous and worth the expense. The service was lacking a little and we had to flag our waitress down once but other than that, it was a wonderful experience that I would recommend. Make sure you have the password or they won't let you in and even though it is in Florida, you do have to dress up for this one. It's particularly fun if you shoot for a 1920's style but either way make sure you look professional. This is not your average restaurant."

  • "The food was served with good presentation, cheese fondue was amazing, chicken sliders best ever. The music was perfect, absolutely loved it. The drinks were high quality, fresh ingredients, extensive menu choices. Definitely go again!"

  • "Very unique restaurant designed in the spirit of the prohibition era (1920-1933) when speakeasies were the place to go for illicit adult beverages. The staff dresses the part and the music is from the era for the most part. The food was very good, pretty much like Tapas that can be shared. Scallops were delicious and easily shared by a couple. The cheese fondue was fabulous and more than adequate for a couple. Only several complaints, one was loudness of the music which was rectified immediately and the electronic credit card machine was inoperative. The latter took 45 minutes to be rectified. The waiter did offer a complementary drink while we waited."

  • "I was told about the speakeasy while planning a day getaway with a date and as a lover of jazz music I was easily sold. Having to knock on the door to get in was amazingly cool. Already set the mood for a speakeasy the intimate settings inside was perfect. My date an I were in awe of how beautiful things were and how it was such a brave move by the establishment to take on this concept. The menu has a section of high priced shareable plates. Which is ideal intimate settings food sharing, romantic ... Ordered scallops to be shared..and when they came we had 4 small scallops..21 dollars. This place would be perfect if it were more honest about its portions. We were told after the food came it'd be best to order 2 or 3 things. "

  • "From other reviews I had read my biggest concern with Ciro's was the service. Surprisingly enough for us, service was actually the highlight of the evening. Our server David did a great job, our drinks and food were delivered very quickly and David followed up on a regular basis. The food was very good and the unique atmosphere was a real plus. "

  • "The food was great, hand-mixed cocktails were amazing but the wait staff seemed distracted if not disinterested. Ciro's advertised period style costumes worn by staff & this would have added to the ambiance, but it was missing. Definitely unique. Don't know if we'd go back except for the cocktails. Very well mixed! "

  • "The place is swanky and different! I enjoyed the true nature of the speakeasy. We had a pass code. The drinks were great. The food was good! It isn't te quickest service but I don't think you go there for this. Also the noise level is high but you can still enjoy yourself."

  • "It would propably have been a completely different experience if the group accross from us weren't so loud and obnoxious...waiter was almost nonexistant."

  • "This was my first visit, but it won't be my last. Ciro's is different and we had some anxious moments created by unknowns. Ciro's can be hard to find your first time. The close quarters and shared plate ambiance required that all diners be or become fast friends quickly or be resigned to a difficult night. We enjoyed a truly wonderful and unique evening. Enjoy the signature cocktails. We dined on crab cakes (very good), fondue (very good), duck breast (outstanding) and the signature chicken and waffles (delicious, fun, and new). Service was attentive and informed. As the evening progressed, the bar area filled. This is definitely a Tampa hot spot with the thirty for fifty crowd. We'll be back!"

  • "My first experience was subpar for a number of reasons. 1- The hostess didn't greet us properly she was taking pictures of a group outside. 2- took and hour to be seated. 3- menu was limited have a lot of finger foods not meals. I will return once more when the menu changes by chef's recommendation. "

  • "awesome.....came for the second time and it was even better than the first....the scallops were five star and the crab cakes magnifico! My wife enjoyed the veggie plate, especially the mushrooms. The cheese fondue was as advertised. Alas,we saved no room for the chocolate fondue, which we WILL get on our next visit, since this place is now on our monthly must do list!! By the way, did we mention that the drinks are first rate? The Port of Spain is awesome....it is like you are taking a first sip each time! The flavors keep coming!! "

  • "Ambiance and theme was awesome. Drink list and drinks were well made. Food was okay. We got sliders which wasn't anything exciting and fondue which was tasty. They were out of the truffle popcorn and scallops which was what we were hoping to order. Overall, really cool place for drinks and a intimate evening with a loved one or friends. "
