refurbished Osteria del Circo (Circus Tavern) continues to delight the ladies, gentlemen and children of all ages as it has for the past nine years. This sophisticated big top, one of the city’s most popular restaurants, is the creation of restaurateur Sirio Maccioni, proprietor of Le Cirque, his wife Egidiana, who is the supervising chef, and their sons, Mario, Marco and Mauro. Designed by Adam Tihany to be as exciting as a European carnival tent, the colorful décor of Circo (pronounced “Cheer-co”) is innovative, whimsical and vibrant. But, unlike a circus tent, the restaurant is comfortable, the fabrics luxurious and the custom-designed Italian chairs deep and seductive.

Dined here with my mother and niece pre-theater. We all ended up getting the prix fixe dinner, which had some nice choices. We all had the homemade spaghetti and it was outstanding. I NEVER order spaghetti at a restaurant, but it was delicious - perfectly al dente with a great marinara sauce. The bread is addictive! Service very friendly. I would definitely recommend Circo.

All pastas are homemade and DELICIOUS. The spinach ricotta ravioli was the best I've had in my life! Pasta was so fresh and delicious it was hard to believe I wan't in Italy (or maybe even better than Italy). Very delicious!

Went to NYC with my 14 yr old daughter, her friend and her mother. We needed a yummy place to eat before a show. Circo knocked it out of the park. The food and wine were excellent for my friend and me. The girls got the special gnocchi and were happy as can be. The restaurant was beautiful and the staff was friendly and accommodated our needs beautifully. I highly recommend

The food was excellent. We got the turbot for 2 - suggested by our waiter - and we loved it! The service was great thanks to our waiter, Derrick. There were 5 of us in a booth and the noise level was low enough that we had no problem having normal conversations. The only drawback was that it was very warm in there especially at the beginning of the meal (it was an unseasonably warm evening so maybe that was why?). Overall, we greatly enjoyed the meal.
