  • "Lovely setting, great service from Carlos, good food. One point, my vegetarian meal was not distinguishable from the others who ordered the same dish. The waiter clearly did not know which was vegetarian. By the time I had to swallow a bite of meat, the vegetarian dish was half eaten by my table mate. This made me sad, but I survived. Please provide more instruction on how knowing & serving vegetarian meals."

  • "Resturant Week is a great opportunity for locals to experience some of the best restaurants in the valley. It's also an opportunity to add or remove places you would return and recommend to visitors apart from Resturant Week. The three course prix-fixe menu selection was what you would expect. However if the lack of quality and taste of the food we were served is any indication of their regularly priced menu this is one resturant we are removing from our list. Additionally the service was less than adequate, we had to ask two different wait staff three times to get our water glasses refilled."

  • "From the moment we arrived (5 minutes early with a reservation, took 8-10 minutes to seat us and they weren't busy at all, maybe 25% full) we were disappointed. Several more minutes before server arrived to take a drink order (mimosas, which were really good). We finished our mimosa and would have ordered a second, but no one even got near our table. We couldn't get any staff attention. When the food was brought to the table, we requested 2 more mimosa, which weren't delivered until our meals were almost completed. Getting water refilled (on a very warm day in Palm Springs) was near impossible without raising a stink (which one shouldn't have had to do for just a glass of water). Overall, very bad experience and very disappointed. "

  • "the food at circa 59 is beautifully prepared, interesting and quite good. last nite was the first time we had any issues. three people ordered clam chowder. they brought out 2 one of which was cold. about 5 minutes later they brought out the other chowder - also cold. after many apologies, new soup was brought out. we did have the mushroom fondue while waiting which was outstanding. had a rather long wait for the entrees. salmon, chicken & salad very good but once, again, a delay receiving all 4 meals. the restaurant was not busy - virtually empty. we finished with molten chocolate cake - wonderful. the staff was pleasant and generally attentive but there was something just a little off."

  • "Paying $45 per person for a "Special Mother's Day Brunch" that had only 1 egg dish--scrambled eggs with cheese, no breads or rolls beyond crackers for cheese, and mass produced plain stale mini-bagels and undercooked cold shrimp was far below any acceptable standard. The food was mostly edible. The service was equally poor--we had to flag down waiters for coffee, spoons, juice and eventually went to management to complain. Used plates from those that went back for a trial of other dishes sat piled on the table for the entire meal until we complained to management We've had better brunches on any Sunday for far less money. We will not be back."

  • "Wow. A perfect evening under the stars. Spectacular ambience, delightful attentive service, and every course was as stellar as the setting. The Kale Caesar Salad was fresh, crisp, and beautifully dressed. The Seared Scallops and Beets with a goat cheese crema and pistachio brittle was delightfully bright and delicious. The Tuna Tartar Tacos with wasabi and avocado puree sprinkled with black and white sesame seeds was the perfect blend of textures and flavors and the Crisp Roast Chicken with root vegetable hash was sensational. My mouth is watering just writing about these dishes. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "We had 6:30 reservations & were seated immediately...however from there everything slowed to a snails pace. From appetizers to dessert, each course seemed to take longer than the next. When our entrees finally came out, some were cold & had obviously been sitting in the food window for some time. By the time the cold entree that was remade arrived back at the table, most were finished eating, so my husband (the birthday boy) ate by himself. We ordered dessert and it literally took 40 minutes for us to receive our cake & ice cream we had ordered. I'm pretty sure our waitress who was spread thin over too many tables forgot about us. Decent food, but felt like we "got forgotten about" when the restaurant filled up. Not worth it for the price."

The host happily took us to the furthest point in the restaurant, but it still took away from the experience. They shouldn't place a party like that so near the restaurant. Really a bummer."

  • "Great choice for a special occasion dinner; I love the Riviera's over-the-top, Sixties-inspired design. We were there mid-week; it was quiet under the trees on the patio with added ambience from the fire pits by the pool. Our waiter was very attentive. My husband and I both had the prix fixe but chose different items. My Caesar kale salad was great; the medium-rare steak was perfectly cooked. The greens on the side had a sweet dressing, which is not to my personal taste but was well-made. My husband had the hearty chowder and the salmon in a sweet glaze, which he enjoyed immensely. I had the chocolate lava cake, which was good, but I loved my husband's creme brulee even better. It had a lemony flavor that was delicious and unusual."

As a former employee of the food and beverage industry, I'm always ALWAYS on the server's side, but the service at dinner was absolutely embarrassing. We waited and waited beyond what could ever be called reasonable for absolutely every stage of the meal: for the server (Maynard?), for water, to order drinks, for drinks to arrive (1/3 that was wrong), for the incorrect order to be fixed (still incorrect!), to order food, for food to arrive (2/7 were wrong!), for the food order to be fixed, to order another round of drinks, to ask for the check, for the check to arrive. The place is beautiful, but I can't imagine ever considering dining here again."

  • "Made reservations for Christmas Eve mid afternoon. Practically had the place to ourselves. Poolside table overlooking a few hotel guests using the lounge chairs and pool on the sunny side. Food was excellent. Service a bit spotty - I think because it was so slow the server might have been off doing other duties rather than being more present to refill drinks and etc. It wasn't bad service, but could have been better. Overall a great experience."

  • "One diner ordered the prix fixe with clam chowder, salmon (nicely prepared and not overdone), and passionfruit creme brulee (didn't particularly stand out). Another ordered the chop salad which was huge and had a lot of egg, avocado, and bacon. The small dish scallops came out with two HUGE scallops that were nicely prepared. I ordered the half sized arugula salad which was the perfect size and had a tangy sweet vinaigrette dressing-- a little too sweet for my taste but the other two diners. I also ordered the shrimp wraps-- again the dressing was a bit too sweet for me but otherwise well executed. Overall, I was surprised at the quality of the food given how trendy the hotel/restaurant appeared."

  • "We stayed at the Riviera hotel from weds through fri for my "50" birthday trip. Had dinner 2 times and 1 breakfast in the Circa59 restaurant. Dinner 1st night was great, had the Wedge Salad with candied Bacon...yum. I also had the flat bread, huge portion. Next night we started in the Sidebar with the cheese plate and shrimp cocktail. I had the side macaroni and cheese for dinner and he had the Chop, chop salad with side of steak. Very good. Try the special drinks on the menu. The fruit plate for breakfast was BIG, share! The only thing we didn't like to much, the Circa potato's were very salty. Otherwise great place."
