Diner Reviews
  • "Had a birthday celebration this weekend. Just fantastic dining experience."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "We had 6:30 reservations & were seated immediately...however from there everything slowed to a snails pace. From appetizers to dessert, each course seemed to take longer than the next. When our entrees finally came out, some were cold & had obviously been sitting in the food window for some time. By the time the cold entree that was remade arrived back at the table, most were finished eating, so my husband (the birthday boy) ate by himself. We ordered dessert and it literally took 40 minutes for us to receive our cake & ice cream we had ordered. I'm pretty sure our waitress who was spread thin over too many tables forgot about us. Decent food, but felt like we "got forgotten about" when the restaurant filled up. Not worth it for the price."

  • "The food was fine, and the service was completely OK. Just wasn't that special. Maybe I should have eaten outside..."

  • "Although the setting at the Riviera is usually great, the night we went there was a private party with live music that was so loud, we could barely talk. The host happily took us to the furthest point in the restaurant, but it still took away from the experience. They shouldn't place a party like that so near the restaurant. Really a bummer."

  • "We had a wonderful lunch at Hotel Riveria , The scene was beautiful and vibrant. The hotel was packed and everyone seem to be having a woderful time"
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Great place to sit on the patio and view the pool. Beautiful resort hotel with a vegas feel, but without the casino. Valet parking is complimentary (just get validated when you dine). The food is GREAT."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "We loved all the small plates to share and the excellent service. There was a great band playing and we lingered a little longer and had a great time"

  • "Great choice for a special occasion dinner; I love the Riviera's over-the-top, Sixties-inspired design. We were there mid-week; it was quiet under the trees on the patio with added ambience from the fire pits by the pool. Our waiter was very attentive. My husband and I both had the prix fixe but chose different items. My Caesar kale salad was great; the medium-rare steak was perfectly cooked. The greens on the side had a sweet dressing, which is not to my personal taste but was well-made. My husband had the hearty chowder and the salmon in a sweet glaze, which he enjoyed immensely. I had the chocolate lava cake, which was good, but I loved my husband's creme brulee even better. It had a lemony flavor that was delicious and unusual."

  • "Spent the weekend at the hotel and enjoyed an amazing dinner on my birthday. Super chill and the food was great!"

  • "We enjoyed our breakfast with a group from out of town. Great setting, service and food."

  • "Four of us went for dinner on Saturday, the restaurant seemed at half-capacity or less. As a former employee of the food and beverage industry, I'm always ALWAYS on the server's side, but the service at dinner was absolutely embarrassing. We waited and waited beyond what could ever be called reasonable for absolutely every stage of the meal: for the server (Maynard?), for water, to order drinks, for drinks to arrive (1/3 that was wrong), for the incorrect order to be fixed (still incorrect!), to order food, for food to arrive (2/7 were wrong!), for the food order to be fixed, to order another round of drinks, to ask for the check, for the check to arrive. The place is beautiful, but I can't imagine ever considering dining here again."

  • "From the time we were seated to the time we first encountered our waiter was over ten minutes. I ordered a Kettle One straight up and chilled and which was served in a cocktail glass instead of a chilled martini glass. Our salads were served before our appetizers. We will never return to Circa 59!"

  • "Special Valentine's menu a bit skimpy on portions. One of two chairs was badly damaged. Service was OK, but not great. Overall, OK experience, but not really special."

  • "Was beyond our highest expectations for a table of 6. Food, staff and ambiance was everything we had hoped for as it was our Anniversary and it couldn't have been better"
    Dined on 2/12/2014
  • "The venue is gorgeous, but the wait staff needs a lot of training, which they are obviously not getting. The wait staff was very nice and polite, just don't know how to serve fine dining. I ws embarrassed, as my business guests began to say,"oh, we should have gone to xyz" and that was not how I wanted the night to go."

  • "Good food, great service and a lovely intimate setting which is remarkable as it is in the confines of a resort. Dine under the trees outside for a romantic experience."
    Dined on 1/28/2014
  • "This Resort has the perfect combination of vintage and contemporary"

  • "Got to our table quickly. The service was not so prompt with our drinks. Menu was not extensive, but good. Overall, it could be so much better and was certainly overpriced for what it was. It advertises as fine dining, but itvreally isn't. A little disappointing."

  • "Enjoyed the food (especially the tuna tacos), the service wasn't great. They close pretty early so don't plan on dining there late -- it is cleared out by 9, even on a weekend."

  • "the food was OK, nothing to brag about. for the price we expected great food. the service was very good and the amience was marvelous. Salads were mediocre, husband had the salmon and said it was very good, I had the shrimp pasta, it was OK, nothing special. would not go here again as too many other places to check out and it was not that special."

  • "Excellent restaurant with ambience and great food. We opted for the prix menu and it was excellent. Good wine selection although they were out of several bottles we wanted but they offered other higher priced wines at the same price."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "This was the second time we went and left without eating or drinking due to a lack of service. Not bad service, basically no service. We won't bother again."
    Dined on 12/25/2013
  • "Made reservations for Christmas Eve mid afternoon. Practically had the place to ourselves. Poolside table overlooking a few hotel guests using the lounge chairs and pool on the sunny side. Food was excellent. Service a bit spotty - I think because it was so slow the server might have been off doing other duties rather than being more present to refill drinks and etc. It wasn't bad service, but could have been better. Overall a great experience."

  • "One diner ordered the prix fixe with clam chowder, salmon (nicely prepared and not overdone), and passionfruit creme brulee (didn't particularly stand out). Another ordered the chop salad which was huge and had a lot of egg, avocado, and bacon. The small dish scallops came out with two HUGE scallops that were nicely prepared. I ordered the half sized arugula salad which was the perfect size and had a tangy sweet vinaigrette dressing-- a little too sweet for my taste but the other two diners. I also ordered the shrimp wraps-- again the dressing was a bit too sweet for me but otherwise well executed. Overall, I was surprised at the quality of the food given how trendy the hotel/restaurant appeared."

  • "The ambience is amazing, the food is very good but the service is only fair. Staff is very nice but getting food out of the kitchen is very slow. The tuna taco appetizer was spectacular but my chicken entree was ho hum. Still a great place to go."
