  • "This is my first time having French food at an actual "French Restaurant" - The food was delicious and the service was spot on. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and menu specifics (ingredients, cook temps, dressings). She greeted us with the specials and also gave recommendations. I also noticed the other waitress and the hostess were spot on as well. They were courteous to customers and attention to details (dirty dishes, empty water/wine glasses). I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Savannah area looking for amazing food or just a place for a special occasion!"

  • "Warm atmosphere, our reservation request for table with chairs and good view was honored right away. Despite small menu, the selection was good, wine list had too many expensive wines, but board showed medium priced wines by the glass. Food was very well prepared, took some time, but we sipped our wine. We shall be back."

  • "It was our second time at the restaurant and my wife and I were not disappointed. We both had one of the specials, the excellent French dish, coq au vin (it was Bastille Day week). Delicious, accompanied by a nice Italian pinot grigio, ample bread (some of the best "French bread" this side of the Atlantic). Excellent and pleasant, friendly service as well. Couldn't have been better."

  • "We especially enjoyed our dinner at Circa. We were entertaining my father-in-law who has a passion for French Bistro dining and Steak Tartar. The staff asked the chef to make it special for our table as it was not featured that night. They called me in advance to tell me the chef was whipping up a special appetizer. Our server, Emily Elizabeth was exceptionally attentive and addressed all our needs. She even gave us a great parking tip. General Manager, Tony Rossing really has this place well tuned. We had a great meal in a fun atmosphere. This is now one of my favorite spots in Savannah!"

  • "Our waitress was so brash and rude that not only did she make the entire party upset and very unconfortabable when we made a very polite comment to the manager he completely dismissed her behavior and told us that's just the way she can be sometimes. Between the talking back, rude smirks and wrong plates I believe my favorite experience of the night was when one member of our party ordered the pork chop well done and was told she would ruin the dish and it would be dry. The rest of us also ordering the pork dish decided on medium which we were told would be great, which was prepared so dry we could barely cut through it. We were then scolded for ordering mediums when we told her it was dry because that was no good either, and rate was best"

  • "My husband and I came here Monday night to celebrate our anniversary. It was very nice and quaint. The server was excellent, very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and answered all our questions. We will definitely be back !"

  • "Had occasion to dine at this wonderful establishment a couple of weeks ago while visiting our daughter and future Son-in-Law in Savannah. What a great find! My daughter and her Fiance are real foodies, as are we, and they have the Savannah food scene wired pretty well. None of us had ever been to Circa, but had heard good things. The restaurant did not disappoint at all. We had a wonderful table downstairs, which was a cozy, intimate setting, with only about 6 tables. Our server was clearly overworked with too many tables, but he was really pleasant and friendly too. The food did not suffer either, and the wine was good. Of note were the Foie Gras en Torchon, the Escargot, Magret de Canard au Casis. A must try in Savannah."

  • ""Circa" is my favorite local restaurant. As a chef, I tend to be moderately difficult to impress and they have never disappointed me. The food is always hot, fresh and full of wonderful flavors. The service is impeccable, courteous, helpful, and timely without ever making you feel as if you're being rushed. This is not a turn and burn restaurant. Sit back, relax and enjoy your dining experience. It's worth every minute and every penny."

  • "I thought we were going to have a great meal. Sat down and was served some delicious bread. Ordered the pate de campagne as an appetizer and it was tasting great. Things started to go south when I requested more bread for the pate. Thirty minutes later, we already had our entrees but still no bread. It finally came out and was inedible. My wife's magret de canard was very bland, my cassoulet pretty good. During that whole time, the manager supervising table service never came to apologize. They did not have the decency to remove the charge for the pate and our server added a 20% service charge to our bill. Forget the Southern hospitality, Circa 1875 made me feel like I was back in my homeland dealing with the most nasty of Parisian servers."

  • "BLUF: definitely go but try to get a table in the basement. First time visit. Had reservation for three at 8:15 on Sat but they were running 30 minutes late - not unexpected since it was busy and Mem Day weekend. Had a drink at the bar while we waited. It was pretty crowded too but we still found two chairs at the bar. Hostess came and found us and we got seated in the basement wine cellar. Perfect location, just a few tables and not crowded in like the ground floor room. We are not big time foodies but do appreciate a fine dining experience. Great service, great food. Being in the cellar and not having the back & forth foot traffic like the main floor was an extra bonus. just FYI .......BLUF is bottom line up front"

  • "The food was great. I had the steak which was nicely seared but still medium rare. The other three people in my party had the flounder and all enjoyed it. However the service was lacking. We started out with one server but then after telling us the specials another one came over. She was much less knowledgeable, unable to answer any questions about the wine selection. She also forgot our drink orders several times. "

  • "Food as always was quite good. We love duck and escargot. Good wine selection. Service was slow and not up to the standards. We had kids with us, they were acting as kids do, but nothing over the board. Our waitress moved our neighbors further from us and was making faces that made me feel bad. So it is not very kid-friendly. Overall the visit was fine. We would be back for the food."

  • "From the beginning of the meal, we found the food outstanding. We started with an appetizer and salad , including fennel-infused mussels, and a pistachio and goat cheese salad. Both were excellent, fresh, and well-prepared. Then, we moved on to entrees, including pork with spinach and tomato and the pasta with vegetables. The bread basket included an extraordinary french bread (crusty and soft) and another hard-crust roll. The wine list was creative and fairly extensive. We enjoyed the food, service, and ambience and would return again!"

  • "I made a reservation for 8:30p.m. but I was not seated till closer to 9p.m. The waiter was very slow to take our orders, so we just sat there for a long time. One of my guests actually had to leave without eating because her order still had not been taken and she had to go meet someone else. The food was very good, my main complaint is do not go there if you have any time constraints or are very hungry."

  • "The food was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection. The Frites were tasty, especially in the wine sauce that accompanied the steak. The mussels a delight. The Onion Soup was outstanding. The Profiterolles were good, but I prefer the individual profiterolle stuffed with ice cream and covered with fudge, not one big one, where the pastry got soggy. The service was top notch, even when the room filled up. The noise level a little too high caused by a middle aged woman "in her cups." Everything considered, it was an excellent experience which we plan to repeat ASAP. "

  • "What a gem this place is. Best steak frites I have had in North America in a long time. Our Server Betty is from Paris originally and is a delight. Good wine selection with plenty by the glass. A 2009 St. Emilion Grand Cru at $59 was absolutely a steal. You must try this if you are visiting Savannah. Nice change from low country fare. Bon appetit!"

  • "As Europeans we find it a challenge to find a restaurant that is a bit special in the States. Most of them offer more of "the same", and all of it in great quantities. Most of them are dark or noisy or... This restaurant was a pleasant surprise to us : - food that was different ("European style", but not exactly the same as in France where we stay quite often); - a very very friendly and helpful waiter; - excellent setting in a décor that guaranteed reduced noise levels (high ceiling, tables not too close to one another). The food was not only different, but was also great. It was one of the occasions where one does not regret giving a large tip."

  • "I never like restaurants that load people side by side along a bench. I feel as though I can't speak freely as my table neighbour hears everything. Well the food made up for this. My wife had the flounder & I went the classic steak frites. Both meals were too big but they were excellent in terms of quality of produce. We had no room for dessert though."

  • "The food and service was very good as it has been in previous visits. However; the noise level is very loud (really needs to have acoustical treatment in the restaurant part) and the Bistro style straight-back chairs are very hard (really need chairs with more comfortable seats / cushions)"
