  • "My colleagues and I go here at least 2-3 times a week for lunch and are always very pleased with the food, wine and service. Margarito and Diego are excellent waiters and Maria and Mariana do a great job making you feel welcome from the time you enter the restaurant. The bus staff is also super attentive and willing to help with anything. Definitely a must if you're in the Wall Street area."

  • "My fiancé and I went to Cipriani's to check out restaurant week and celebrate my new job. Living in the area, we wanted to experience what all the Cipriani's hype was about. Overall, we were disappointed. The food (we ordered the fish and chicken off the RW menu) was mediocre and very salty. The rice side dish was hard and undercooked. However, Cipriani's does have the most amazing service! The waiters, hostesses, and bartenders were super accommodating, friendly, and professional in their interactions with us. The environment was a cross between a place to be seen and date-night hot spot. We had a drink at the bar and ate on the patio and both were very beautiful. Unfortunately, the environment did not make up for the just "ok" food."

  • "Cipriani is known to be a first class restaurant, so it was my pleasure to visit. The wall street location has an outdoor terrace, and although it directly faces some scaffolding across the way, nothing beats eating alfresco, so I was contented with the set up. It could be a very romantic atmosphere because it's very intimate. The food was good; I had a salad as my antipasti; for my main entree I had the red snapper and white rice; for dessert I had the strawberry cheesecake. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall it was very nice but I hope to visit the location closest to midtown next in the hopes that the food bowls me over. As I said, the food was good, but it wasn't as exceptional as I'd imagined it would be."

But if you can't maintain the same quality in restaurant week, don't put the restaurant like cipriani available in restaurant week. I was so exciting to go there and now so disappointed."

  • "I would not recommend Cipriani's. The portions were small, seemed more like an appetizer than lunch. We all ordered a veal dish and there was very little veal to be found. The waiters were rushing throughout the restaurant, they almost seemed like they were running. The noise level was extremely loud, there were three of us at a small round table and we couldn't hear each other. The chairs were uncomfortable, the backs were too low. Definitely a disappointment."

  • "I enjoyed my striped bass lunch. It was presented in an appetizing and well presented manner. However I did not care for the fennel soup as it didn't have a distinct or interesting flavor. The dessert, was light, and delicious, especially if you like merengue. My partner sent his pasta bolegnese back because it had no flavor, very little sauce and looked like an appetizer portion with scant sauce and meat. He would not return there. We would have liked more options with some creative or unusual choices. The restaurant is pretty especially the outside eating area. However it was too hot and humid to sit out there at lunchtime. Inside was extremely noisy and unpleasant until the rush crowd at 12:00pm left. Service was polite."

I had the short rib over polenta, which was great, while my wife's sea bass was plain with a topping that dominated the taste. Capriani is a solidly good and reliable choice, but it is not memorable or impressive. Recommended if in the financial zone, but not a place worth traveling to."

  • "i didn't go with high hopes partly because i have such fond memories of the Cipriani establishments in Venice and was resentful of their having taken over the Rainbow Room ...but was curious to see how they had transformed the building where i worked into a restaurant and it was a lot more pleasant to eat there than to work there! - the decor was warm and welcoming without being pretentious - the waiters were delightful - the vitello tonnato was delicious and not so easy to find - the braised short ribs were scrumptious as well as the polenta and the mocha cake was superb and i am not a dessert person and i love the idea of getting wine by carafe size - a very nice Montepulciano -and the $25 prix fixe lunch is an absolute bargain -"

  • "We sat out on the terrace during Restaurant Week. Very atmospheric but also very cold. Wish I had kept my coat. As for food, we had two lovely starters -- string bean salad and veal. Entrees were both undersized and underwhelming. I was still pretty hungry afterwards. Apparently, dessert -- a huge hunk of very sweet cake -- was supposedg to make up for this. But I hate sweet food so this backfired for me. As for the service, I read some of the negative reviews and that was not our experience. We found the wait staff very attentive and professional. In sum, the terrace and the location was unique but the entrees were sub par. Wanted to love it, but just didn't ."

  • "If only I had a DeLorean to transmit me back to the decades-old heyday of this place... Unfortunately, it's 2014 and I was not impressed. I stuck to the Restaurant Week menu (that they apparently offer year round) and ordered the "chicken" which tasted more like mystery meat from an elementary school cafeteria. I found my appetizer of prosciutto wrapped filler fruit and dessert of dry mocha cake just as equally unappetizing. The $50 large carafe of Chianti wasn't the worst wine I've ever had, but definitely not worth the price. Oh, and the $4 cups of cold coffee pretty much sealed the I'm-never-coming-back-to-this-place deal. $75 later and I've officially had the worst meal I've ever had in NYC... Ultimate fail!"

  • "We were hugely disappointed...the waiter spilled water, never offered to change the table cloth - within minutes half the table cloth was soaked! when we asked for a new table cloth, the bus boy(?) was obliging, but it we should not have had to ask. Overwhelmed by the frantic feel in room and the atrocious noise level. Were all underwhelmed by the food.....2 companions had the octopus and, while rather pretty, said it had just been removed from the refrigerator/freezer and had no taste. I liked the "spring salad", One liked the liver entree and the chicken was OK; salmon was ordinary. Dessert was good. We are not tempted to ever come back to Cipriani. We had very much looked forward to this lunch and were.......disappointed."

  • "I have used Cipriani on Wall Street restaurant in the past and had a good experience, this week not sure if they changed management or just staffing this one time the service was not good. I arranged a lunch business meeting with a potencial client and felt rushed from beggining to end even if there were lots of tables empty. They came with the second dish while I was still eating my salad and asked if I was finished even if they see me still eating. And did the same with the second dish the waiter asked if I was finished even if he sees a fork in my hands. Lastly we ordered 1 regular coffee and 1 espresso, the waiter walked away saying OK 2 regular coffee, I tried correcting him but he keept on walking away.. What is the rush!"
