Diner Reviews
  • "Way overpriced! They really don't want to participate in Miami Spice? Miami Spice menu is just 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 desert, and all very plain presentation. The carpaccio is really good, as well as dessert, but the sea bass, very small plate, and taste wise nothing special. Not worth the price AT ALL. Service was very rude! We asked about the Sea bass in the Miami Spice menu, and the waiter answer was just: "oh, that's just the Miami Spice menu..." like it was a sin to order it... Corkage fee: $60.. Our mistake for not asking in advance of course...We were 4, and we ordered 2 miami spice menus and 2 regular menu items, and the check was $277!! Really? Not worth it!! I've had much better meal, and service in other restaurants..."

  • "My husband & I live in both Miami & NY & had one of the best entrees as well as service ! They definitely get it right on all levels, food, service & scene !"

  • "There are not many restaurants in Miami that have a beautiful water view. Cipriani certainly does have a great view of the mouth of the Miami River. The decor is gorgeous - blue, white, and chrome. Reminiscent of a grand Italian oceanliner. Really beautiful. I was underwhelmed by the food, as it was rather bland and uneventful. Baby Artichoke salad was simple. The Rigatoni bolognese was very oily, the calves liver was overcooked, and the tiramesu was pedestrian. Scarpetto at Fountainebleu is far better for upscale Italian food."

  • "Ok food and regular service ... not quite what you expect for the price"

  • " Nice restaurant, god food but not for Miami Spice, you don t have an alternative just 1 appetizer 1 entrée 1 desert."

  • "average Italian fare, but way overpriced and overrated. You pay for the name and brand, which is now a chain. Not worth it in my opinion. Nice decor."

  • "It is a very pretty restaurant. The service we received that night was wonderful. We were initially seated at a table for four (4 chairs) and we asked if we could be moved to a table (also for 4) with different type chairs and a sofa since the chairs and table of initial seating although gorgeous were ill fit, your knees are uncomfortably squeezed under the table. They politely and efficiently heard our request and seated us. We had the carpaccio, Chilean sea bass and merengue dessert. The food was good, straightforward. I am a minimalist but I think the dishes could be presented in a more aesthetic way. I see myself returning to Cipriani."

  • "Marvelous decoration. Good ambiance. Food: 1. Steak Tartare: just a cold grounded meat. I sent it back. 2. Artichoke tasty but dish presentation very poor: two enormous dark pieces -steak like- in a small dish. Fortunately I was really hungry. 3. The glass of wine was not the one I commanded, brought in a rough service. 4. Raviolis: nice flavor but came warm not hot, served again in a small dish without any grace in the presentation. 5. My wife's Australian veal ok. But again just in a plate."

  • "I had de Veal, that was good, but the gelato was incredible"

  • "My wife had been wanting to eat here for some time, but I was hesitant since many review had said that it was "expensive and the service was subpar." While it is, indeed, pricey, it is well worth it. Either they have made considerable changes to their service since those negative reviews or those people just had bad experiences. Cipriani's has the best service in Miami and the food is amazing. I highly recommend for a special occasion."

  • "They did not respect the reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes. The maittre'd was rude, and waiters didn't care. The food was average. It is not worth it. I will never go back. Cipriani is a dying restaurant."

  • "Great place. Very expensive, but worth it! The food is great. I had the Sea bass with tomatoes. It was perfect. The Bellini's are great, and you must try the vanilla ice cream."

  • "Loved the ambiance, cocktails and pasta! Table was not the best in the house considering there were many tables available when we arrived, however we enjoyed our dinner and service nevertheless!"

  • "Prices are steep, but food was delicious and service was excellent. Surprisingly, valet parking was price friendly, especially for a restaurant of this quality/price. We will be back!"

  • "We took a friend for a birthday dinner The Dover Sole was wonderful and the sauce divine. The only complaint is that the chairs are totally uncomfortable . You feel that you are an adult seated at the children's table at Christmas. I am not tall by any means and my knees were above the seat. But since this is a food review , it must be noted that the food was excellent. We will definitely return . The view and ambiance is definitely a plus."

  • "Love Cipriani in NY - the uptown location in the Sherry Netherland. Tried this on a whim with my Mother during a recent visit, and was not disappointed. Has a "local" feel tucked away by the Miami river entrance with stunning views during the day and evening. Cipriani always managed to retain the feel of being a private club for those in the know...service is top-notch, and food never disappoints. Love the Cotoletta, and all pastas - go for the baked tagliolini...great to share. Finish with ice cold limoncello. Cipriani Downtown Miami feels discreet, comfortable, indulgent - it's a completely enjoyable experience, and it would be very easy to become a regular!"

  • "I went for lunch and was very pleased. The food was very good/excellent, as was the service. The ambiance is terrific with great water views and a very light and open feel. The chairs are small and a little unfcomfortable, as are the poles in the strange 3-legged chairs. I plan to go back, but I must say that it's on the expensive side for lunch (typical starter is around $20 and entrees in the $30+ range). I recommend the restaurant."

  • "Great Empty nester's lunch. Also plenty Dad's with kids and parents gathering. Food selection is good and the service really very good. A most enjoyable experience. Not for the feint hearted wallet though!"

  • "The Food is excellent and Service is truly outstanding, very attentive but not overbearing. Menu choices are perfect, very good selection but not over whelming. The best thing was we sat at the bar to have a drink before we went to our table and we did not have to close out our bar tab as the drink costs were transferred to the lunch tab. I especially like that the servers do not clear the table until everyone is finished eating!"

  • "several years ago my wife and I went to Venice. We went to the Cipriani hotel for dinner. one of the most memorable evenings on our trip. We went to dinner last night at their restaurant and were just blown away. Far and away the best high end Italian restaurant in Miami... that is really saying something as we have many excellent venues. the food was perfect and off the charts and the service was so European and authentic. the wine list is not over priced and loaded with great wines at reasonable prices. we will go back again."

  • "We had a late sunday lunch. Only half the tables had people there, great vkew of the river meeting the bay, excellent service, and good italian food. Good qines as well.very fine, modern yet classy decor. Will definitely be back"

  • "The restaurant has a lot of media coverage and sounds promising. Whereas the food was reasonably good and the ambience very attractive, the overall value for price is not that striking."

  • "The furniture was a little surprise since the tables and chairs were low and small. Not for enjoyable dining but the food made you forget the uncomfortable feeling. "

  • "Went for an early dinner, was immediately impressed with the restaurant, a bit hard to find and there is no signage. Our server was very attentive to us & helpful in selecting our menu choices. Food very good, the veal chop perfectly done and the taglialini w/bechamel and ham excellent. For dessert, I had read about the ice cream and it was one of the best vanilla ice creams I've ever had. The nuts that went on top provided some crunch but the ice cream itself was flavorful, creamy and had a great mouth feel. Whatever anyone else had experienced here that was negative, we did not. Remember, this is not Cipriani's Soho, this is Miami, we'd definitely go back. "

  • "the food was good, but as good as other good Italian restaurant. Bucatini Amatriciana "Bianca" are Carbonara with literally, at least, ¼ pound of pancetta. Italians "never" put that much pancetta in a pasta!. The size of the dish was typical American pasta, rather than Italian portion. Ravioli were good and the size was correct. The calves (fegato all a Veneziana) where good but the fried polenta had a taste of "recycled oil". The Orata was properly cooked but uneventful. Apple tart was dry, but tasted good.Restaurants should cater to their clients and being in Miami means that they should follow American habits. But this is a quintessential Italian Restaurant and so the waiter cannot ask me if a pasta dish is going to be an "appetizer"!. "

  • "Memorable lagostin! service was kind and sharp. their bar could have more space (it was challenge to stay with a group of 5 waiting there)."

  • "Excellent food, ambience and service. However, if you order a bottle of wine, they won't bring you wine glasses and that's an issue. "

  • "Had lunch on a Saturday, it was calm (not too many people), nice environment, food was very good, good size portion, service was fast and courteous. The only complain is the small and low tables which makes it uncomfortable to sit and eat. Chairs could be more ergonomic. "

  • "Cipriani is one of my favorites. Great for romantic dining as well as a night out with the girls. One of few places in Miami you can dress for dinner. Most patrons adhere to elegant attire befitting of a white linen dining experience!"
