Cindy Pawlcyn's Wood Grill & Wine BarBeautiful PatioIt wasa beautiful day. We had a lovely lunch on the patio. Nice Menu - we loved the house made chips!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA fabulous experience: theA fabulous experience: the food, the attentive service and the extensive wine list. The patio was perfection! Can't wait to return!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLUNCHWe stopped here for lunch before we headed back to Healdsburg. We were staying at the Madrona Manor ... So lunch here was perfect! The service was exceptional , we will come back. Our choices for lunch were wonderful.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food at great prices for SH!I took out-of-town guests for dinner to Cindy's Wood Grill and we had a lovely meal. The menu has a good variety of items to choose from at reasonable prices for the area. It was too warm to eat outside but that area looked very inviting. All of the food was very good, the service was good to very good but due to a large, rowdy party the noise level was extremely loud & irritating & we were there in the early part of the evening! Also the booths are uncomfortable because the backs lean too far back so there is no support unless you slouch. I'd suggest sitting at a table with chairs. I will definitely return for lunch sometime.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Afternoon!Group of 9, including a three year old. Brought our own wine and corkage was waived because it was lunch! Celebrating our daughter's High School Graduation. The Calamari was "out of this world" We will be back just for that! Great time was had by all.
Desserts were awesome too!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a delightful, friendlyWe had a delightful, friendly evening - nice that a couple who own a winery were there to give us a "splash" of wine!
Service was great and the food was plated nicely and very good. Loved eating outside!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeThis is now going to be one of our go to places. The food was wonderful, I had the short ribs with polenta while my husband had the ribs. Both were very flavorful and seasoned just right. Plus it was just the right amount of food since we knew we wanted dessert and we had already shared the onion rings. Next time we are not going to share the onion rings we are each going to have our own. Dessert was the bread pudding with strawberries, again just wonderful and just the right amount. I also enjoyed a couple of chocolate martini's that the bar tender put just the right spin on. We also liked the fact that although we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary we didn't have to get all dressed up, casual is more our style.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA casual affairMy wife and I have been to Mustard's many times. We decided to try one Cindy Pawlcyn's other ventures. We had been here before when it had a different name and menu. It now seems more casual and it is quieter than Mustard's. As older people this is a big help. We had the fish special which was Halibut and started with the carrot soup. We liked the idea that we could have either the small plates or a regular dinner. The service was great and we loved the dinner even thou it was a bit bland. We noticed that there were a lot of local families who seem to love the Pizzas and the hamburgers.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu and wine listWe were tired of not being able to get into the Rutherford Grill....they don't take reservations and it's too crowded. So, for a change, we drove down the hwy toward St. Helena and discovered Cindy's Wood Grill & Wine Bar. We like Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen located in St. Helena, so we figured we wouldn't be disappointed. We ate there twice, both for late afternoon lunch. Had no problem eating inside or outside on the patio. The service was top notch. Our favorite appetizers were the pork belly, egg plant sticks, and oysters. We enjoyed the fish of the day, the ribs, and the duck! So flavorful!!! Could not ignore having something sweet. We liked the lemon pudding cake, root beer float, and the ginger beer and rhubarb sorbet float.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ultimate outdoor dining experieAwesome food, flavors distinctive, fresh ingredients and wonderful combinations. Service, ambience and outdoor dining is superb!!!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came here last minute toWe came here last minute to celebrate our anniversary. Part of the reason for going was the eggplant fries we had when it was Brassica, but unfortunately they didn't quite live up to our memories (not as crisp as we had remembered). What we had for dinner, though, more than made up for that one shortcoming. We started with oysters (fresh from Wash state) and had a salmon and braised short rib meal. It was all outstanding.
Glad to see that they are sticking with the small producer wine list (although not as many by the glass) bcuz it allowed us to have something that went with each dish.
We sat outside which is a great location for families (with dogs as well) and lovers like us.
Go - I know you'll enjoy it.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWait Staff SnobsWent on Sunday evening and it was pretty empty at 6.
Food was excellent but waiter was a little overboard. Maybe pretentious is a better discription. We didn't need his.
act.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great serviceGreat food, great service what you would expect from Cindy Pawlcyn.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMustards North+amazing wines!Cindy has done it again! Her Wood Grill is a bit like Mustard's North also incorporating elemnents of her other restaurants with new twists, including a much wider selection of wines (100 by the glass) and a great price point. The oysters, ribs, sole and eggplant fries are not to be missed - along with the desserts of course. I can't wait for the garden to open!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReal find! What a great dinner! Start off at the bar for drinks and ask George to show you the olive trick and he's got others up his sleeve too. Food was fantastic!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSt Helena gemgood food, great service, nice ambience ..... what more can one ask for ??4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBest ribs I have ever eaten!!Fall off the bone ribs were amazing. Love the 2 oz. put selection on wines. Huge space but ver comfortable. Waiters very attentive. Great place. I am a huge fan of anything that Cindy touches. She is magic and has the best recipes to make you feel cozy and warm3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely wonderful fromAbsolutely wonderful from all aspects. We especially enjoyed the sophisticated yet relaxed feel of the restaurant. At no time did we feel rushed and our server's timing and cordiality was outstanding. Having a sampling of a new vintner's bottling was a memorable treat as well.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the unique twists onLoved the unique twists on the food, wonderful service from Sara and a special touch meeting Cindy.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWow...what a meal! We wentWow...what a meal! We went with the recommended specials and 2 oz wine pairings. The ability to taste local wines not available elsewhere was a real plus. In addition, a local vintner was pouring samples from his family winery down the street. We were all invited to come see the property...and we will when we come back next month.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious for the right price! The staff and management were very friendly and extremely helpful in making suggestions for choices. For the area, the prices were very reasonable. The pork belly (even though it initially sounded suspect) was by far our favorite appetizer out of the few choices we went with. Although, just about everything we had was delicious. While we did not have previous experience with any of Cindy Pawcyn's restaurants, we all left very satisfied and would not hesitate to try again. This is definitely a place that you don't want to pass by while you are driving through St. Helena.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIn love with CP'sFirst time at CP's, long, long time customer at Mustards. Wow! Our food was delicious. The crab rolls were stupendous and so good that we'll be back shortly to do again. Great menu, it was hard to choose! Now it will always be a debate, CP's or Mustards! What great choices!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGOOD FOOD AND AMBIANCE, BUT PRICEYThe ambiance was good and the food was innovative, but it was very expensive. Lunch for 3 came to $195 WITHOUT TIP. We did not have a bottle of expensive wine. We did have a plate of oysters that were $36 so that added a lot to the total. We saw them later at a notable restaurant for $1.50 each, which confirmed our belief that they were overpriced at Cindy's.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Spring MenuThe new spring menu is wonderful. I had fresh tasting asparagus with gribiche to start. For my main, I had another new spring menu item: fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs. They were terrific! Just the right combination of sweet and spicy. And served with cole slaw, biscuits and honey butter. I cannot wait to have them again! My husband had the daily special sunchoke soup and risotto carbonara and loved them both. Although we were full, we had to sample one of the new spring desserts. We shared the bread pudding with creme fraiche ice cream and fresh strawberries. It was even better than strawberry shortcake. Each time we return to Cindy Pawlcyn's Wood Grill and Wine Bar, it keeps getting better.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter was perfect andOur waiter was perfect and it was great being greeted by Cindy as we arrived. I am looking forward to my next visit.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food--like all Cindy'sVery good food--like all Cindy's restaurants. The room is a bit nondescript.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThanks, we needed that . . .A wonderful addition to Napa's Upper Valley, CP's offers unique dining options as well as old fashioned comfort food. Already a favorite among vintners, one of the draws here is the opportunity to sample 2 oz. pours of hard to find wines. One dish is better than another.2/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
