  • "We were visiting Vancouver for a short trip and ended up dining here twice due to exceptional service, attention to detail for dietary needs and excellent food. Our waiter, Shawn, was spot on in all ways. First he greeted us, checked in to see if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions, then delivered on providing gluten free bread and alerting the kitchen to our needs. The service was personsable, but not distracting or fussy. Water glasses were filled the instant the water level approached getting low. We enjoyed the carpaccio appetizer, duck, tagitelle pasta and sea scallops with risotto as entrees. All excellent! Impressive list of grappas. This place has been around for 25 years for a reason."

We were dining early, 6 p.m. as we were cycling in a 120 km bike a thon fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Vancouver the following morning. We wanted carbs but gluten free and our waitress outlined all of our choices given the restriction. We really enjoyed her service and the meal was wonderful as usual."

  • "We took our whole family for a birthday celebration and sat on the deck. As always, the food was superb. I had the branzino. It was cooked perfectly. Crispy skin and moist inside. The roasted potatoes were amazing. This was a dish that took me back to a seaside restaurant we once went to in Italy. Fantastic pasta as well. This is a restaurant that has stood the test of time. It gets overlooked in favour of the new trendy spots that have popped up on the east side and Gastown, but it's really just as good or better than all of those."

The pasta was bland, the noodles tasted store bought, not fresh. The service was adequate. For the cost, this place was not worth it and given all the exceptional restaurants in Vancouver in this price range I wouldn't bother with it again."

  • "Horrible food. The salad was fit for a bovine not a human. The veal chop was fatty. This was unique. I've never had fatty veal before. The undercooked salmon was served in a puddle of some mysterious bright green liquid. The server seemed there to harass rather than serve."

The restaurant is on a busy street but being above street level, noise was not a problem at the inside table we were given. The wine list is longer than many novels, with prices ranging from not cheap to bank account emptying, but the lower end BC wine we chose was superb so quality is good. The food was good mediterranean fine dining - relatively small portions of rich food - so we did not have room for dessert. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly and gave some recommendations for future stops on our tour of BC"

  • "We went there for our anniversary and a romantic dinner but left disappointed. The whole pasta dish I ordered was like a piece of cold jelly. Too dry, sticky and undercooked. They took it off the bill, but I was disappointed with the food. I would make a better pasta at home with cheap stuff. The service was kind of professional though."

  • "Came to Cincin with a coworker for dinner and had a wonderful experience. Wine list was quite extensive and the Restaurant Director was kind enough to recommend a fantastic Pinot Grigio. All courses from start to finish were delicious and the service was impeccable - our waters and wine glasses were refilled continually, the food came promptly followed by timely quality checks. Our server Chris was personable and polite though it was probably difficult for him to get a word in while the two of us dined and chatted. Overall, a great restaurant in the heart of downtown."

  • "I dined at CinCin for the first time for my boyfriend's birthday and was surprised to find that the restaurant is quite family-friendly, as we were seated next to a table with children. Not what I had expected, but it's a nice environment nonetheless. The food was good, but my boyfriend complained that portions were small, even though we ordered the main. He had the ravioli, which is supposed to have truffle broschetto, but didn't taste truffle-y. I tasted and agreed. It was even a bit on the sour side. Maybe the chef was a little heavy-handed with the lemon juice (though the menu didn't mention it would be doused in lemon juice). I enjoyed my dish though, which was the grilled alaskan scallops with risotto. The sorbet was good."

  • "i had been hearing about cincin for years and was so excited to go - we were a group of 5 people catching up. we got seated outside which was wonderful - the space is beautiful and feels like an oasis in the city. the service was excellent and we felt well taken care of. the food, however, was a little bit disappointing. it was GOOD - but nothing to write home about and felt quite overpriced for what we got. the plating also didn't appear to be done with care - i don't find these things to be a huge deal - but when you are paying as much as they're charging, you expect a little bit above average."
