Diner Reviews
  • "We had a wonderful experience at CinCin. We came in from out of town and had been there once before last year. The service was terrific and everything we ate was delicious. "

  • "Very nice place for dinner, expensive but worth it to try for the experience. We arrived at a little after 6 and there was hardly anyone there. Plenty of room and nice soothing atmosphere. We did find though that because there was hardly anyone there in the beginning, our server came to check on us way too many times. Other than that, everything else was wonderful. I would only go here for special occasions."

  • "CinCin is truly one of Vancouver's Top Restaurants. One feels welcome & appreciated, from arrival through to calling it a night. The service is impeccable, but not overbearing. The menu has a great array of options from starters, to salads, entrees, and desserts. Food presentation is like fine art and the food is absolutely delicious. Our out of town guests were wowed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend CinCin, and we'd definitely go back."

  • "superb service, splendid food, exceptional evening"

  • "I had the mushroom risotto and my friends had the veal risotto and the scallops. We all agreed that while our food was okay tasting, it wasn't outstanding and certainly not worth the price. My risotto was so bland that I had to salt it myself as the kitchen seemed to be busy."

  • "Fabulous and equal service toward everybody, whether the guest dress nicely, or toward teenagers."

  • "Great food, great ambiance and good service. An absolute must! If you are ever anywhere near Cin Cin, go!"

  • "The service we experienced at this restaurant was beyond exceptional. I am a quadruple amputee and regularly face challenges when dining out. All staff at this restaurant were amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is worth the climb up the 27 stairs. Food was scrumptious"

  • "Great service and hand written card from the chef for my birthday was very nice. Our meal was spectacular! We split a salad, pasta and main course. Loved everything but the ravioli stood out. Thank you for being part of making my birthday special"

  • "very over-priced for average food on small tables too close together!"

  • "Delightful evening.. excellent service, fresh amazing food choices, one dish better than the next. Excellent and varied wine choices."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Creative food, an amazing and fairly priced wine list (and when it is fairly priced, I gravitate to better bottles) and service to match. Our host, Jamie, was totally comfortable and accurate in describing the food. Everything was done to perfection...even the "Swiss" way of changing a tablecloth without exposing the table below. The attention to detail shows in every respect. All one can hope for is the new owners not put at risk the fantastic reputation CinCin has earned for itself over the last few decades in Vancouver."

  • "This was our first visit to Cin Cin. It exceeded our expectations in all respects. The service from our experienced waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and timely. The food was wonderful with appropriate portion sizes. The beef carpaccio was probably the best I have ever had and I have enjoyed this dish at many wonderful restaurants worldwide. This restaurant is fairly expensive but we felt that the value for money was definitely received. As others have noted the noise level is higher than one would like. All in all a great dining experience and we look forward to returning to Cin Cin."

  • "We will definitely be returning to Cin Cin! We couldn't have had a nicer evening. From the moment we entered we were treated like special guests and the food was fabulous."

  • "Had not dined at Cin Cin for a year - typically go at least once a year for special occasions or a special treat. Serving staff were very casual in their service - not the usual professional presentation. We both started with the buffalo mozzarella beet salad - definitely the highlight of the night. I had the beef short rib for my main and it was somewhat bland and uneventful. My dining partner had a T bone steak and found it flavorful but tough. We felt rushed throughout the meal - we like to enjoy a martini pre dinner and some wine with dinner. Had not finished the salad and the main course arrived. The sommelier brought the wine while we were still enjoying the martini's."

  • "Although food was average, the servers were great. They were very nice and friendly despite the fact we did not order wine. They even offered to help us take pictures and helped us cut the cake and served it for my friends. Very nice ambience as well."

  • "this is a gorgeous restaurant , very classy, dress nice, incredible service! We literally had 3 people waiting on us and could not blink and you had your napkin picked up or water refilled...1st class service, maybe to the point of feeling overwhelmed by their attendance to you. The food was fantastic just expensive if you want to include wine and an appy with your meal. Small portions so don't go hungry or you will need an appy. We ordered appy, wine, meal...everthing tasted excellent."

  • "This was our second time to CinCin's. The food and service are worthy of five stars. The courses were excellent and well spaced out. Our server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and always made sure everything was great. There were three of us celebrating our daughters birthday. We started out at the bar and got to tell you the little bread sticks are so addicting! For our main meals we shared three appetizers and then all had the short ribs. Didn't need a knife it was that tender. We finished off with different desserts which were excellent. My sorbet was so refreshing and delicious. They have an extensive wine list with many BC wines you can only get at the wineries. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend."

  • "CinCin lived up to the hype. The wine selection was outstanding and the food was delicious. Already looking forward to my next meal with them."

  • "We have been fairly often to CinCin and always enjoy it. This time, we shared a plate of mixed antipasti that were delicious, and I had an endive salad that was a treat to the eye and the palate. My husband and I each ordered grilled venison which was wonderfully tender and full of flavour, served with red cabbage and celery root. The other couple in our party were satisfied with their pasta dishes, though one arrived too cold, and had to be sent back. (Later we were not charged for that dish.) Our dessert of hazelnut semifreddo was light but luscious. Service was very good; friendly and attentive and prompt without making us feel rushed. The only criticism we had was the noise level, which made conversation difficult."

  • "We booked CinCin for my daughter's 21st birthday. She was delighted by special touches like a birthday note from the chef. The service was good and the food outstanding -- the lamb, flounder and ravioli were special mentions. CinCin made a special occasion even more so."

  • "Xcellent service, good food and ambiance. It was lovely to celebrate a special birthday here."

  • "1st time back to cin cin in 18 months(?) the level of food is still exemplary. the wine list still reads like a small thriller novel - so many pages; and, some of those prices took my breath away. the service is still prompt but without sycophancy. but the noise level was astonishing. i saw no war being waged or sports game contested. no politicos were in the house or stock market trading being conducted. yet trying to converse with my partner 2 ft away required diners on either side of us to listen to what I was saying. i rate the noise level 3 (energetic) only because level 4 is 'do not recall' - yet i DO recall it. it was v.loud and v.intrusive despite the good food, $195 for an evening of shouting at & to someone leaves a bad taste."

  • "In the past, we have always been impressed by our visit. This time the menu seemed limited - with too many fancy selections, and not enough BC local traditional choices. I'm not expecting Fish and Chips but a Dungeness Crab Cake would have been nice. The food itself was unimpressive. My wife was particularly irritated by the way her food was spoilt by silly mixing of vegetable with rice (or whatever it was) into a paste -- what for? To impress someone? No proper beer either - Paroni is a poor man's substitute for Stella Artois. The Italians don't know beer from a hole in the ground. Beer comes from Belgium, or Germany. Again the need to be different outweighed the need to provide basic quality. The desert menu? Needed a translator."

  • "This place was perfect. The food was delicious, we sat at the bar and received great service. Our bartenders were very nice, we received our food and drinks pretty fast. I highly recommend CinCin, it was hands down the best restaurant that we ate at in Vancouver."

  • "We were Impressed with the amazing menu, wine and cocktail lists; personable, professional, knowledgeable staff; great decor and ambience. Chefs accommodated dietary needs of our guests easily and made extraordinary meals for them. This is an outstanding restaurant. The happy background chatter of other guests was all part of the great experience."

  • "Great Restaurant with a great interior, very romantic and nice atmosphere !, would go again, make sure you have reservations."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Food was bland and vastly overpriced. Waiter was pleasant, but the length of time the food took to arrive at the table spoiled the evening. Wouldn't return."

  • "We wanted a nice date for our first anniversary/valentines day, so our standards were set pretty high. Our table was in the back room which cut out a lot of the typical restaurant noise. Our server was great, she was very friendly and was very attentitive! The atmosphere was very classy. It reminded me a lot of restaurants I loved while in Italy. And to top it off the food was enough that you didnt leave hungry (a problem we had at a high end restaurant in Whistler)! We were really happy and we will DEFINITELY be going back to celebrate our next milestone."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Restaurant was busy due to Valentnes day, service was excellent although they were so busy. I do not drink but they have an absolutely huge wine list! My girlfriend did enjoy the glass recommended to her. The food was delicious. Temperature was just a little cool beside the window. That was our first visit and we look forward to revisit again."

  • "My boyfriend and I dined at CinCin for Valentines Day and were disappointed with the intimacy of the restaurant. It was very crowded and seemed like they were trying to squish everyone in like sardines into the place! The food was mediocre, not even close to the hype this restaurant gets on other review sites. The décor was nice and the staff was pleasant. Overall, will not be going back to CinCin. Definitely not worth the money!"

  • "Go for the ambiance the food was good but for the price i expected more all in all very nice restaurant"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "thoroughly enjoyed our valentine's dinner with you...wish we had the time on this visit for another stop there. my wife & i both agreed the squid starter was outstanding & in future think in lieu of a main will go with an array of starters & small pasta dishes."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "The food is always awesome, Service impeccable, but the noise level is tremendous, for a valentine supper not very romantic. Sorry for the comment but you barely hear your partner if you do not speak loud. The wine list is huge and very well balance but a bit pricy. The server was attentive and very knowledgeable with the menu, pleasant."

  • "We had a very pleasant evening at CinCin, our waiter and the other staff were so helpful. Lots of attention, the two main dishes were perfect. One had venison the other had Rack of Lamb. Also great milk Chocolate Mousse Dessert"

  • "As always an outstanding meal enjoyed by everyone in our party."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "We really enjoyed our dinner at CinCin. The food was very good and the service was great. Overall CinCin is a bit pricier than other italian restaurants but is a great experience overall and worth the extra $ once in a while. The crowd is a bit older but that's to be expected for a restaurant of this quality and price range."

  • "We found the restaurant extremely noisy. A young lady beside went to the point of speaking quite loudly to almost screaming. The feeling was to the point that we felt we were in a cafeteria. The food was excellent, our waiter was exceptional. It is not the kind of place I would recommend for a couple to have a quiet intimate meal. Probably not go back."
