Diner Reviews
  • "I was at Cin-Cin with my wife on a Thursday night. From past reservation attempts, I knew it was a popular restaurant. We've opted to limit our dining that evening to a few small plates, and they were all very good. A couple were spicier than we expected, but still delicious. Nice house red. We'll be back to try some of the large plates. Not extremely loud, but when the place is at full swing, the noise level can hamper conversation."

  • "My first time and not knowing what to expect I looked it up online and I must say most of the reviews were spot on. I enjoyed everything from the service to the wine and the food.. I will be going back and commending Cin Cin to all my friends"

  • "Fantastic wine list, delicious tapas, small plates, large plates of wonderfully prepared delicacies"

  • "It's the little things that detract. While the food was very good and our waiter was friendly, overall the service seemed disconnected. Here's a few simple rules: 1) The cocktails should arrive before the appetizers. 2) When you offer the customer a few more crostini, please bring them soon, not 10 minutes later. Just disconnected. On the plus side, the food was delightful and we will probably revisit on a less-busy evening and give it another chance."

  • "The food is impeccable, very obvious Cin-Cin spends time on the special meals for the night. The small plates are interesting and very tasty. Erika"

  • "Service was spot on, our waitress was so much fun and engaging. Food was very good and well paced, don't miss the deviled eggs, pork belly buns and the bacon mac & cheese. Previously I swore I wasn't coming back due to service and food issues but I am so glad my husband asked to try it again. Cin Cin is now back on our date night list of restaurant choices."

  • "Chose this wine bar because they had a food menu and cocktails, instead of just cheese plates, beer and wine. We got more than we asked for! Great price on the bubbly flight ($13 for 3, 3-oz pours); the men had martinis. We chose a "nibbler" and 5 small plates to share - perfect for 5 of us. I gave 3 stars for service because we only got 4 of the small plates but we were full by then anyway - our server was attentive and our water was continually refilled by other staff (they leave large bottles on the table for refilling your own water, but the staff came by to refill also). The small plates are decent sized, and you have the option on some of them of adding - both the empanadas and sliders we added a fourth instead of the standard three."

  • "Went here on a Saturday night and had a fantastic evening. They had a nice selection of wine that wasn't overwhelming to peruse nor ridiculously pricey. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share and everything was delicious - the goat cheese crostini and the Korean tacos were especially amazing! Our waiter was very nice and accommodating and brought out the dishes at a good pace to allow us to have a nice relaxing meal. Definitely would eat here again!"

  • "Service and good was perfect! Place was packed on a Tuesday night! We will be back"

  • "Ambiance was nice but it was a little loud especially with the music on. The food was excellent and the wine selection nice. Our particular waiter was ho hum but the rest of the service staff was very attentive. It was particularly nice to have half off wine on Monday night. This was my second time there and I will definitely go back again."

  • "Executive Chef Shingo Katsura creates some beautiful dishes that taste delicious and he enjoys incorporating a variety of textures. The menu at Cin-Cin has taken flight under his direction. Monday night's are 50% off all wine bottles. Choose from their award winning wine list. Ask your server for a recommendation. Remember to order dessert. Pastry chef Mimi creates some desserts worthy of a fine dining experience."

  • "Really enjoyed the option for small plates and the selection was great. The food was tasty and their late night happy hour was something great to accidentally happen upon"

  • "SO good. Get the sikrong mu tod (short ribs) for sure! Everything was tasty though, we also got: hoi nang rom sod (oysters) which were huge, pau pia yuan (fresh shrimp spring rolls), the kiow wan pak (veggie green curry), mu hang lei (beef red curry) and a few other things that I can't remember :) The sakhoo sai mu, which are steamed tapioca dumplings with pork & peanuts, were surprisingly good, almost like a dessert! Definitely worth trying at least once for the texture alone. We had a group of about 10 people and even though they were pretty busy, our service was great. They were very attentive and had everything out in a timely manner."

  • "A fantastic selection of small plates; a large group of us met here and ate family style and everything we tried was delightful. The drinks, appetizers, and small plates were all delicious and there were plenty of options for both vegetarians and carnivores."

  • "This is a true gem of a place...we dine early with the kids and love the food all the time..never a disappointment."

  • "I waited over an hour for our food and finally told the hostess I was leaving as I was getting a headache and needed to eat something. The next day the owner called to say she was sorry and another table had a similar problem. She would resolve the internal issue and she was sending me a gift certificate to come back. I certainly will. Classy owner!"

  • "The food at Cin Cin is always SO good. This is definitely a place for foodies. I love doing wine flights. They have a great selection of different wines and the service is always spot on. only thing that's always rough is parking. Highly recommend Cin-Cin."

  • "This is a great place to go on a date, or for a girl's night out. It has a relaxing, yet fun ambiance. The food is very delicious. Though I was disappointed in their fish tacos. Their food is always so tasty, that I was surprised their fish tacos had no flavor."

  • "What can I say about Cin Cin that already hasn't been raved about elsewhere? great food, check. great drink and wine selection, check. What more could you ask for in this little gem of a restaurant, tucked down an alley in Los Gatos? For starters, the Charcuterie Plate is a must, especially when having a glass of wine from the huge wine selection that they offer. We then opted for the "tapas-style" small plate-route, rather than both getting entrées. Korean tacos, sliders and steam buns were our selections, and we were not disappointed. The sliders have this amazing cheddar fondue atop the little, medium rare cooked patty and it is to die for! This isn't our first time here, but its the first time I've decide to review it, and ill be back!"

  • "Very delicious, small plate stle food. I also had one of their origional drinks; mandrin orange something or other that was devine. Not a quiet resturant, but not so loud you couldn't talk. Our waiter was nice, but seemed to be stretched a little thin. Service was fine, but not outstanding. "

  • "Highly recommend, main courses and small plates were all wonderful. Korean tacos, short ribs, mac & cheese were delicious. Our waitress, Amber, was absolutely awesome. Can't wait to come back."

  • "Very good food (ham-wrapped date appetizer; steak and fries and 38 north chicken for entrees); great wine; very good service (after initially being ignored for a while); good prices...but offset by mediocre ambiance (very loud, in an open-not-intimate space). If being seen is important to you, then you'll probably be really happy, but if you're trying to have quality time with a date... maybe not so much. "

  • "Loved the menu, food had lots of flavor. Service was great, waiter made lovely suggestions. I like the idea of having both small and large plates, made for lots of options. Cheese plate was good and sliders were oh so yummy!!"

  • "This was the 2nd time I've been to Cin-Cin. I came back because I really liked the menu and the food was very good. The restaurant is small, and unfortunately on the 2nd visit there was a loud party (drinking way too much) in our room and it was hard to have a conversation. Also, we ordered a bottle of wine and they were out (really, it's a wine bar?) The food and service was good - if not for that I would have been so disappointed. I wish they offered seasonal dessert items. "

  • "If you don't like talking with your spouse or date, then this is the place to go. It was so loud, and the tables so close to each other, that all you could hear was shouting. Food was OK, but nothing special. Wine list is overrated. Really disappointed."

  • "Food was absolutely amazing and the service was superb. This was our first time in the restaurant and we cannot wait to go back! We tried quite a few of the dishes and looking forward to trying more of their small plates the next time. Dishes that stood out are the Korean tacos, mushroom flatbread, mushroom risotto, soba noodle salad, shrimp and grits (polenta) with warm balsamic glaze, and the banana bread pudding… simply AMAZING. Can't wait to go back! Thank you Cin Cin for a great first experience to celebrate my husbands birthday! We will be back!"

  • "Staff not friendly or happy to be there. Service slow. Wine list was weak compared to the places I am used to in Walnut Creek and SF. Appetizers meh. Risotto good. Busy so I doubt they will improve. Poor locals don't know what they are missing."

  • "Best food I have had in a long time! Great service. Price was so reasonable for what you get! I love this restaurant! "
    Dined on 4/18/2014
  • "Delicious creative small plates. We tasted the blue cheese stuffed dates which were devine. The calamari was cooked to perfection - delicate (not rubbery or chewy like when it is overcooked) The pork sliders were 2 buns and great for sharing."

  • "Amazing happy hour! Be sure to book a reservation."

  • "I've been here a couple of times before and really liked it, but was really disappointed this time. My friend's chicken was not very good to the point where he stopped eating it, and my dish was over cooked. Whereas I would have given it a 4-star before, I'm giving it a 3star for inconsistency."

  • "Three of us this time. I just love the food at Cin Cin. It's friendly and good value. Dessert with matched Port - living' large!"

  • "We've been to Cin Cin many times. The food is always delicious and the cocktails and wine are terrific. Happy hour specials are beyond great Service is always attentive. The noise level is always the only drawback, but when the place is so popular, what can you expect?"
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "Great wine list with various red and white flights. Small plates are excellent: we had the bacon/egg/frisée salad, calamari, wild mushroom empanadas and Korean tacos...we would order the same again but would like to try other items as well. Some reviews complain about the noise level, but we were seated along a wall and found it only moderate, and the restaurant was pretty full on our arrival. Has a welcoming, not stuffy vibe. Our server was excellent. Prices are not high for Los Gatos."

  • "Loved it, even back when it was Cafe Marcella. Service is great, the chefs are welcome to ideas to modify a dish. I will say that "open-table" website was weak; we got pushed out a half-hour, then when I re-logged, we were back at square one. Not CinCin's fault, just bad software. Still, it was a very nice dinner with my daughter; the atmosphere is neat, the customers are all cool. The service is top-shelf."
