A word from Cigar City Brewpub
Cigar City Brewpub opened April 1st 2013 with the simple goal of giving Tampa great food to go with great beer. Our menu is a little Cuban, a little Southern, a little Italian and all Tampa. We aim to provide a welcome and casual environment for our guests to enjoy a good time with their friends and family.
Our mission is to offer a handpicked selection of the farmers’ finest wares highlighting locally sourced and humanely raised meats free from adulteration such as hormones. This dedication to local purveyors and sustainable practices combined with small batch, house brewed ales, hand crafted cocktails and a celebration of Tampa’s one of a kind history, cuisine and culture inform all we do at Cigar City Brewpub.

  • "First, great vibe - it's all about the vibe. Next, the people / servers were super - and knowledgeable about the menu items. Food - 9's for sure... Other Reservation system worked great too! Thanks - we'll be back! Bobby Rocket"

  • "Four little poppers for $7.00. A 10 oz., $21.00 ribeye that was mostly fat and muscle."

  • "Burger was decent...the rest of the food was meh. Good beer. Server was quick and friendly. Not enough to get me back there."

  • "Quiet Monday night (after 8:30 p.m.) but good food and service nonetheless. He had a brown ale called Paulina Pedroso and she had a glass of Pinot Grigio (a bit too cold) over a shared crab mac and cheese Appetizer. Delicious! Continued with entrees: panzanella salad so fresh and crisp (part of the small plates menu -very smart!) and brown ale braised short rib over a bed of risotto for regular appetites. Too full for anything else: we shared a glass of sweet home brewed soda called Root Cream. Wow! That is good stuff! Would go back for drinks and food. Loved the decor, all wood and beer theme."

  • "Well thought out menu w/good selections, reasonable prices esp for haapy hr specials (arrive before 7pm) great beer (of course) really enjoyed my beer flight (not on menu? So glad I asked about it!) Recently remodeled & decor is perfect for a brewpub very comfortable we brought our young son but didnt feel out of place as there were a few other kids there I had shortribs very tasty although a little fatty my only suggestions is that cooks should taste the food before sending out my risotto and veggies were good but underseasoned and there were no salt & pepper shakers on our table enjoyable overall & we will be back to support an independent locally owned biz"

  • "It was great. First time checking it out. Will be back again. Service could have been a little more personable. Waitress didn't really visit the table other than to greet, drop off drinks, or drop the check. Another girl checked to see how the food was, and prebus the table. Should have tipped her instead. But drinks were great, food was even more amazing, definitely coming back."

  • "As parents to a 1.5 year old we don't get out much by ourselves for a nice quiet dinne and when we do we tend to stick to the old favorites so we know we won't be disappointed but we were so glad we branched out and tried cigar city brewpub! The food was incredible, our waitress was awesome and the decor in the restaurant as great. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Cigar City Brewpub, it's a place you can get great beer made local and fresh paired with the food that it tastes best with!"

  • "First visit to Cigar City Brewpub and it was very good. The food was better than expected and the beer was exceptional. I will definitely visit this place again. I had the lamb and it was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed every bite. My wife had the braised short ribs and it was so tender it nearly melted in your mouth."

  • "We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and were escorted to our waiting table. The drink list was wonderful and it was hard to choose. We had 2 orders of the Crab Mac and cheese, the tomato bisque and the cheddar beer soup. Both soups were exceptional. I was skeptical about the cheese popcorn on the cheddar beer soup but it was a welcome and unique touch. The tomato soup was really rich and when forced to choose between finishing the soup or the crab Mac and cheese the Mac and cheese won! It was cheesy without being covered in sauce. The lump crab meat was piled on and the toasted Panko bread crumbs added just the right amount of crunch. We raved about this for several days after our dinner at Cigar City Brewing."

  • "Visiting Tampa to see family and talked the wife into joining me for a trip to Cigar City brew Pub. The waitress took time to explain the different beer selections to me and the food selections to my wife. I had the crab macaroni and cheese and my wife had the Cuban. We interacted with several of the wait staff and they were all friendly and helpful; the proverbial 'service with a smile'. They all seemed genuinely happy to be working there. Not being able to decide which beer I wanted a pint of I order 2 'flights' of 4 beer samples (4 oz) each to get maximum exposure to the beer list. Loved them all! My only regret is that I live so far away that I can't come back often to try the other dishes or sip some more of the different brews."

  • "Great pub type atmosphere. Excellent Cuban sandwich. Only disappointment was they had no Chardonnay by the glass - focus is on beer selections but was not in the mood for a beer!"

  • "Service was great. They were very accommodating. We are a large group (8 this time) and visit a local restaurant every Thursday night. However, we come early (order at 6) and we were crammed into a table meant for 6 when the restaurant as basically empty."

  • "Great restaurant--amazing food for all you foodies out there!!! And beer--don't get me started--great selection to choose from. My only qualm is the layout is a bit funny--large tables in the middle. Also would be nice to hear some music..maybe bring some bands in??? Crowd is a mix of of those dressed in shorts and flip flops, and then others dressed up...not sure where this restaurant falls...maybe it's just the area?"

  • "We were there for Valentine's Day. It was not overly crowded and the food and service were excellent. This was our first visit and we will definitely return. It suited us perfectly from the laid-back atmosphere to the tasty dishes and an attentive server."

  • "We enjoyed sharing several dishes including the pork bellies, stuffed peppers, and bread salad. The ribeye was flavorful and the mixed berry compote on the bread pudding was amazing"

  • "And average food. I felt let down by the food. I was expecting flavor or at least some WOW factor but instead we had a normal standard dinner. The ingredients were great, but it seemed every plate we tried just lacked that little something. Yes I would eat there again, but I'd equate their food to slightly better than Fridays, Chillis, or Ruby Tuesdays. We shared all our plates...Mac & Crab, been cakes, swordfish tacos, and the empanada."

  • "Made reservations thinking it would be packed for the super bowl. And to my suprise it wasn't. Their signature was out on a super bowl Sunday! What the heck, the beer that is their staple wasn't available especially on a Sunday this big. Huge disappointment. The food was not as good as I thought it would be. The swordfish tacos are great. The blue crab mac was very cold and tasteless. The yuca fries were ok. And the oyster po boy was unique. Btw the crowd was 45 on up. I felt the place wasn't alive. Even if they have an older crowd somebody make some noise! Nothing stands out in this place except for the beer can decorations.place does say pardon our mess since it's doing improvements. However I praise the beer when they do have it."

  • "If this was located in Ybor, downtown or Seminole Heights i would be there constantly. It does not look like they are missing my presence-they were slamming early on a Friday night and thankfully I made a reservation. Some great interesting Brewpub only beers (imperial oyster stout? yes please!), chicharones to die for, and some nice inventiv brewpub food. We shared 3 "snack" plates and dessert. Chicharones...omg, stuffed ciquillo peppers w/chorizo and rice were delicious and the empenada of the day (pulled pork, bacon and aged cheddar) was very good, although it could have used some sauce. The Hunaphu's flourless choc cake was decadent and I loved the peppers which added a subtle mole-esque quality to the dessert. Great beer, 'nuff said."

  • "Spent $53.00 on two dinners. Very dissapointing. No salad, no bread. Portions were small. Had better dinners at Outback, Olive Garden, Lone Star, just to name a few. Beer was good. Right now would not return!"

  • "This place is all about the beer. The food was OK, but it's the outstanding beer that will make me want to go back. No one does craft beer better than Cigar City."

  • "Fun to eat where the beer is good and the food was pretty good too. The hostess was not very personable and tried to seat us 2 times at a table that no one would want. Also told us that tables were being reserved but no one ever showed up for them. RUDE servers too. Kind of think there are many awesome places to eat in the Carollwood area and this wasn't one of them. The food was good so I may have to give them a second chance."

  • "This was my 2nd time visiting the brewpub, (have been a semi-regular at the brewery on Spruce St for two years now), and both times have been outstanding. Excellent quality food, similar to what you'd find at restaurants twice the price. Great beer. We had a party of six celebrating my birthday during a busy Saturday night and could hear each other just fine, the music (which was great: Devotchka, Of Monsters and Men, etc) was low enough you had to pay attention to notice it, and most of the noise was just other guests having loud, vibrant conversations as well. Waiter was attentive, and very generous with tiny free beer samples for the two members of my party who were new to beer. Equals Datz & Restaurant BT as my favorite places in Tampa"

  • "The food and atmosphere of CCB was excellent and the beers we tried were great as well. I liked the option of sampling the beers prior to ordering. They offered a special menu for NYE but we opted to order off the standard menu. I had the Ropa Vieja and my husband had the Osso Buco. Both dishes were well prepared, as were the accompanying sides. We will definitely return and plan to bring friends there next time. The service was adequate but a little slow. Our server was friendly and helpful but sometimes took a little longer than we have liked. I wouldn't call him inattentive or anything, but not the most attentive server either. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to our next visit."

  • "Great food and fresh ingredients. But on this, my second visit, I was dismayed to find the two favorite items I had enjoyed before were no longer offered. A tasty black bean soup and their wonderful version of flank steak had been removed from the already too small menu, which was a disappointment. I settled for the pork osso bucco, which was good but way too fatty for my taste. Honestly, I would come back more often, but I am hard pressed to find something that appeals to me on their limited menu of five "sandwich/burger items," five or six entrees and a small handful of small plates."

  • "service was just not there. our server was sporadic and there were long stretches before she would reappear. after the meal, took forever for her to come back, we ordered dessert....those were brought....a long stretch later after dessert was finished she came back and asked if wanted coffee??? Just strange service. Not bad exactly, but not good...just inattentive. BUT the food and the beer are always good here. Two out of three, I guess. I also didnt like that as soon as we were seated, my opentable reservation was cancelled by the restaurant...I had to email opentable to get it reinstated. Seemed shady. Could have just been a mistake, though."

  • "If you're looking for a sports bar with large TV's, chicken wings, and beer, eat at Beef O' Brady's, not here. In keeping with the Tampa theme this brewery / eatery has a Cuban flavor in menu options and even stoneware table settings. My wife and I shared an enormous Farmer's Salad with braised beets, toasted almonds, and a goat cheese mousse. It was a home run! Our entrée was their Tanglewood Farms arroz con pollo with a dark fricase and saffron rice and was delicious. We decided on a simple but scrumptious warm blueberry bread pudding for dessert served in a jar. Conclusion: Not many restaurant receive my five start rating, but this new restaurant deserves it. This is one eatery you absolutely must experience!"

  • "Went for a retirement celebration based on Florida Trend article citing Cigar City Brewpub as a best new restaurant in Tampa. Confirmation/reminder notices as well as call home seemed like a little of an overkill - but we were from out of town. Table was ready as requested/promised. Server was very helpful and knowledgeable about wide variety of brews and appetizers to share. Appetizers were unique, tasty (stuffed piquino peppers and chichirones). Side salad was fresh and generous. Entrees were a hit around the table, with the shrimp and cheese grits among the favorites. All in all a very enjoyable experience with a nice, comfortable setting andexcellent, attentive service. I'd definitely return and not hesitate to recommend to others."

  • "To start, I've been to the Brewpub many times for lunch. I had family coming into town this weekend and recommended we head there for dinner, as I was curious about the dinner menu. Sadly we had a much less satisfactory time. Despite having a reservation and the place not being packed, it still took about 6 minutes for us to be sent to our table. The server visited the table infrequently once our meal was ordered so refills and asking for to-go boxes and the bill took a while. Even worse, the food was mediocre! I had the ropa vieja; the meat was bland and the rice was under cooked and crunchy! It still made for a good meal, but it was merely OK and definitely not worth the price paid. I'm sticking with going for lunch from now on."

  • "An excellent dining and drinking experience! Having been to Cigar City's main brewery tasting room, I was familiar with much of the great beer selections on the menu, but they also had some tasty site brewed alternatives. I liked the variety of the food menu as well. The swordfish tacos were some of the best fish tacos I've tasted anywhere and my wife liked their take on the Cuban Sandwich. I am definitely looking forward to a return visit!"

  • "Food was average and overpriced. Didn't have the beer I was looking forward to having (that I read about online) and the ones they had were not that great. Don't have beer brewed by national chains, like Michelob. Wine selection was limited. Atmosphere is dark. Metal chairs and small tables. Very loud due to bare floors, walls and open ceiling -- not from energy generated by people. Service was on the slow side and waitress was really not very friendly. Not on my list to go back."

  • "We had the braised short ribs sandwich with yuca fries and one of their excellent craft beers. A perfect 10! And we feel better knowing our food is locally sourced using pasture-raised, grass fed beef."
