Great food and service. Will go
back if ever in Lake Tahoe again."

My wife and I dine here about once
a month! It is outstanding every time!!"
Dined on 2/22/2014
Ciera compares favorably with top
steakhouses in any big city. Steak au poivre, veal chop, and rib eye were all high quality beef carefully prepared. Side dishes and desserts also worth the money and calories. Good wine list, especially California reds. Ask about wine specials -- we got a fine Cab at 25% off. Helpful, warm, unpretentious service. Comfortable room with plenty of space between tables; over 50's might want to pack a flashlight."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Ask for a booth! It's worth the
wait! The velvet curtains are pulled to make it feel as if you're the only people in the restaurant. The service was perfect! The wine was wonderful! We recommend the lamb!"
Dined on 2/16/2014
Excellent food and service! Steak
was cooked to perfection. The level of service is fantastic. Just enough attention and not feeling like we are being rushed so they can turn tables. The wine list is extensive with wines at varing price points. When in search of a good steakhouse and wainting to slurge a bit, this is the place to do it."
Dined on 2/16/2014
this is the best spot in Lake
Tahoe. They now have a tasting special for $30. The value is amazing. thank you, Ciera, for the tasting menu, with this i will be visiting monthly instead of just "special" occassions!!!"
Dined on 2/13/2014
Fabulous dining experience from
beginning to end. The private booths w/ curtains open add to the ambiance of this top shelf operation."
Dined on 2/14/2014
This has been one of our favorite
restaurants when we are visiting the Tahoe area. Once again it did not disappoint. We are from San Francisco, and this restaurant certainly has the food and ambience of the best steakhouses in the city. Once again,we enjoyed their New York Steak, and found it to be the equal of Harris' restaurant here in San Francisco ,which is always my top choice for a good steak."
Dined on 2/15/2014
We took advantage of the $30
price-fixed menu, and was not disappointed at all. We were a party of five, three had the fillet and two had the salmon. Servings were sufficient for the three big men in our group. Everyone enjoyed the soups (one said that the lobster bisque was the best ever tasted) and the desserts were over the top. And of course the chocolate covered strawberries were delicious (a holdover from the old Caesar's Broiler Room). What a great value. We will definitely go again when we are in Tahoe. This was our first time going to the restaurant after the change in names and while we still miss the halibut, it was still a hit."
Dined on 2/6/2014
The service was great, the food
was great but they ran out of broccoli and a few other menu items. I've never been to an upscale restaurant that ran out of food. Weird, but I would go back."
Dined on 2/1/2014
Forget to bring oysteers and
scargots , and did't ask what time closes the kitchen for the dessert that take more time to prepare it ( moose chocolate cake ) the service was excelent"
Dined on 1/31/2014
The three of us had a fantastic
meal with excellent service & pleasant atmosphere. The Abalone was amazing! The oysters and steak were excellent as well."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Always an amazing experience. One
of my favorites in Lake Tahoe"
Dined on 1/8/2014
This is a wonderful restaurant,
great steaks. Service is impeccable, wine list is great. We go here anytime we want to be assured a great meal. Definitely a great special occasion restaurant. For privacy ask for one of the booths with the curtains."
Dined on 1/1/2014
Tommy is the man always check him
for current wine offerings. An make sure you stop by the bar afterwards for one of Billy's Black an White martini!"
Dined on 11/23/2013
We celebrated our 25 anniversary
with Ciera, and they went all out without any prompting. The food was excellent, the service was exactly what one would expect from this type of establishment without being snooty and off putting. The restaurant was the perfect blend of welcoming and elegant."
Dined on 11/28/2013
Wonderful service and a great menu
make this the place in Tahoe. Ask for a private booth. Family friendly as well as romantic. Best lamb dish in Tahoe."
Dined on 11/27/2013
We don't visit often, but we are
never disappointed. The salmon had incredible flavor and melted in my mouth. The filet was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The staff is always attentive - without intruding on you. Service, presentation, the room, the food - all were perfect! Can't wait to go back."
Dined on 11/24/2013
The service and food was
fantastic. Luckily we were almost done when two big parties (8 each) were seated by us. They were very, very loud, obnoxiousing laughing. It was not the proper place to act in such a behavior. My husband and I, who were there for his birthday, could not even hold a conversation without raising our voices. It is in a casino, but the prices are very steep and you would think it would have a better atmosphere. Again, the food was great an the servers were fantastic. I just wish that the parties would have acted appropriate or have the manager advise them to keep it down for the enjoyment of all."
Dined on 11/16/2013
As usual, our visit to Ciera's was
perfection! Food, service, ambiance - all were perfect. We actually took advantage of the 3 course, $30 special that runs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until December 12th. What a fabulous deal. The selections available were incredible. We tried two different ones in each category and they were delicious. Our server was attentive and helpful. And, best of all, we were able to have a nice conversation without having to yell over other diner's conversations. It was an experience you used to have at fine dining restaurants years ago."
Dined on 11/3/2013
The food was rich and decadent. We
took advantage of the 3 course for $30, very good value. It would have been a perfect elegant evening, but the service was rushed. I was still enjoying my meal when the dessert was served."
Dined on 10/30/2013
We (two) went out for a nice
dinner to celebrate a special event and could not be more pleased. This is not a value dining experience, but the food and service were both fantastic. We had the Chateaubriand for two and added the twin Australian lobster tails, with sides of asparagus, truffle mac and cheese and white cheddar scalloped potatoes. We topped it off with a chocolate soufflé. Our wines were a bottle of Geyser Savignon Blanc and had a bottle of Silver Oak Cabernet Savignon with our dinner. Two thumbs up...more if I had them."
Dined on 10/27/2013
My husband and I went here for our
anniversary. I used Open Table to book a same day reservation as well as requested a private table for dinner. When we arrived we were led to a totally private cushioned booth with curtains which was just perfect. Food was good but expensive. This restaurant won for wait staff, ambiance, and extra effort they put in to make the evening special such as a anniversary card and chocolate lava cake. We would recommend this restaurant without a doubt."
Dined on 10/26/2013
If you order a pre-dinner
cocktail, be prepared to be hammered by the time your appetizer arrives - the martinis are eNORmous! So are the meals. Giant juicy pork chop, baked potatoes you could mistake for a regulation NFL football and a creme brûlée like a stack of 20 CDs. Easily the best steakhouse at Tahoe. (However, the hotel above this joint leaves something to be desired - eat here, but don't stay here.)"
Dined on 10/21/2013
The food and service was top
notch. I haven't found a better experience, food, or service in Lake Tahoe. This was a birthday dinner and they went WAY above and beyond to make it special."
Dined on 10/14/2013
We ate dinner here before seeing a
show at the resort/casino. The food was very good for the area, yet not quite up to San Francisco, Vegas or NYC standards (for a restaurant in this price range). The service staff were all very warm and went out of their ways to make sure we felt happy and enjoyed our food. The special dessert treat served to all (gratis) after coffee was a lot of fun! The decor is plush and high-end considering what else is available at this resort/casino."
Dined on 10/6/2013
It was a very nice dining
experience. The menu is very complete and the service is good. We will go back again."
Dined on 10/5/2013
The steak and lamb chops were
delicious. Nice salad, side of mushrooms and garlic mash, and a large slice of cheesecake. They do a great job overall."
Dined on 10/4/2013
Romantic! Beautiful burgundy
drapes that offers seclusion. Waitstaff discreet and professional. Cocktails served with a flair and we'll worth it."
Dined on 10/3/2013
We picked this restaurant for our
anniversary. It is the fourth year in a row that we have came here. The last couple of times we have gotten John as our waiter. Everyone there is really great. When I mentioned it was our anniversary we even got a nice card from the staff and a nice cake. My husband loves the elk. He gets it every time. This restaurant has great service and the little private booths are great. Recommend this to anyone who wants a nice dinner."
Dined on 9/22/2013
We made reservations for our 10
year anniversary. I asked for a quiet table and we were put in the back room. That room was quiet at first until the bass from the night club permeated throughout the dining room. It also is an area where they put big parties and a bachelor party arrived and the noise ruined the occasion. We loved the food, the wait staff work hard especially the support staff to the servers. We were given a nice card and a special dessert which was a nice touch. I appreciated the attention to detail in that area. If you book a reservation, request a booth that has privacy curtains and you will have a nice romantic evening without the loud noises that surround the restaurant. I wish I would've known there was booths."
Dined on 9/22/2013
Really just average. Good food,
good service. Nothing about the experience was more than average but the bill. Really have yet to find that hidden gem in South Lake Tahoe."
Dined on 9/15/2013
I never write reviews but I went
to Ciera for my wedding anniversary and it was one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. The food was exceptional and the service was some of the best we've ever had from the manager on down. If you are choosing a restaurant for a special occasion I highly recommend it."
Dined on 9/2/2013
Ciera is the most current dining
experience in SLT, closest thing to eating in a big city. The steaks are cooked perfect and they have great sides to choose from. The only negative is the wine list boasts a 300 bottle selection but nothing spectacular or hard to find."
Dined on 9/1/2013
I've been taking my kids here for
8 years we love it!"
Dined on 9/1/2013
I was impressed. I had a
reservation, was seated as soon as I walked in. The food is very expensive which I knew going in, but you get much larger portions than I expected. Everything was excellent. They give you a plate of chocolate dipped strawberry a for free at the end. It felt like my money was well spent. 3 people, no wine, $178. Not terrible. Really good overall. I'd go back."
Dined on 8/25/2013
The restaurant is well appointed
and the service was very good. The menu is very expensive. The food was not up to the pricing. The lobster bisque was overly spicy and not well balanced. The waiter was kind enough to remove it from the bill. The abalone ($90) was only fair, as was the ribeye. The soufflés was not remarkable. Overall, not worth the price."
Dined on 8/18/2013
The restaurant had several large
booths that used curtains to close our table off from the rest of the tables and it made for a very romantic setting. Too bad the waiter was not very good. Three times he got my drink wrong. No salt on the rim is not a tough assignment. My $53 steak was over done and my wife's $90 king crab legs were just ok. For that price I was expecting at least service with a smile. I ordered spinach as a side and got asparagus. Which by the way was to die for so I did not complain. All in all the restaurant was just so so."
Dined on 8/17/2013
The food was exquisitely prepared
and presented. The wine list has quality wines by the bottle to by the glass. Oyster's Rockefeller was a treat. I recommend the rack of lamb. It was superb. The ambience was very deco in the bar and upscale "big city" in the dining room. The entire experience was exceptional and we will be back"
Dined on 8/16/2013
We have been to this restaurant a
few times. Each time it is a wonderful experience. This time we went with 5 people, celebrating two birthdays. The service is, as always, great. The steaks were cooked to perfection and to top it off, they brought birthday deserts along with cards to the two people celebrating. We were staying pretty far from South Lake Tahoe, but is was definitely worth the trip in for this dinner."
